Ravens RB Lorenzo Taliaferro is working at fullback in minicamp.
The formerly buzzed about running back is buried on the depth chart, so he's trying to increase his versatility. A 6-foot-1, 225 pound "head of steam" runner who was a solid blocker coming out of Coastal Carolina, Taliaferro makes sense as a fullback. Jun 13 - 1:21 PM

Ravens placed RB Lorenzo Taliaferro on injured reserve with a hamstring injury, ending his season.

The formerly buzzed-about 2014 fourth-rounder will head into the offseason with 14 carries over the past two seasons. Limited to six games by injury over the past two years, Taliaferro is probably done in Baltimore.

Lorenzo Taliaferro gained zero yards on his lone carry and caught three passes for ten yards in the Ravens' Week 7 loss to the Jets.

He out-touched Kenneth Dixon 4 to 2 in this one. Taliaferro was active over Buck Allen and now appears to be even with Dixon on the depth chart behind Terrance West. West remains the Ravens' clear-cut feature back.

Ravens activated RB Lorenzo Taliaferro (foot) from the PUP list.

Taliaferro is expected to play Sunday, which could relegate Buck Allen back to the inactive list. Either way, Terrance West has established himself as the clear starter in Baltimore. Taliaferro is not worth adding in any format.

Lorenzo Taliaferro (foot, PUP) is practicing Wednesday.

It's his first practice in a little over a calendar year after undergoing foot surgery. A forgotten man in Baltimore, he'll be no more than the No. 3 back when/if he's activated off reserve/PUP in the next three weeks.

Ravens coach John Harbaugh said Lorenzo Taliaferro (foot) will return to practice this week.

Taliaferro is eligible to come off the PUP list this week after missing the Ravens' first six games with a foot injury. When healthy, Taliaferro will compete with Kenneth Dixon for backup carries behind starter Terrance West.

Ravens placed RB Lorenzo Taliaferro (foot) on reserve/PUP.

Taliaferro didn't practice at all in training camp. The Ravens appear likely to keep four backs on their 53-man roster: Justin Forsett, Terrance West, Buck Allen, and Kenneth Dixon (MCL). Taliaferro could return in Week 7.

Updating a previous item, Ravens placed RB Lorenzo Taliaferro (foot) on active/PUP.

Taliaferro dealt with a foot injury during the offseason, but he was expected to be ready for camp. The Baltimore Sun's Jeff Zrebiec reports the foot did not respond to treatment as well as the training staff hoped. A fixture on the injury report through two years, Taliaferro is not a lock for the final roster.

Ravens RB Lorenzo Taliaferro (undisclosed) is not practicing on Thursday.

Normally a missed practice this early in camp would not be newsworthy, but Taliaferro spent way too much time on the training table during his first two years in the league. Fighting for a roster spot in a loaded backfield, he cannot afford to miss any more time. Taliaferro will need to beat out Terrance West to keep his job.

ESPN Ravens reporter Jamison Hensley left Lorenzo Taliaferro off his 53-man roster projection.

Hensley notes that Taliaferro worked behind Terrance West all spring. Justin Forsett, Buck Allen, and rookie Kenneth Dixon are considered roster locks, with Taliaferro battling West and Trent Richardson for the final tailback spot. T-Rich recently underwent knee surgery and is probably out of the mix.

The Baltimore Sun's Jeff Zrebiec believes Lorenzo Taliaferro, Terrance West and Trent Richardson are competing for one roster spot.

Justin Forsett, Buck Allen and rookie Kenneth Dixon are viewed as roster locks, leaving the other three to compete for one spot. A 2014 fourth-round pick, Taliaferro should be the favorite provided he can stay healthy, but that has proven difficult thus far in his career. CSN Mid-Atlantic speculated Taliaferro's roster spot is "under pressure."
Tue, May 24, 2016 10:11:00 AM

CSN Mid-Atlantic's Clifton Brown suggested Ravens RB Lorenzo Taliaferro's roster spot is "under pressure."

A fourth-round pick in 2014, Taliaferro brings more size to the table than the Ravens' top three backs, and that plus his draft pedigree should earn him a spot on the roster. The problem is he has not been able to stay healthy through his first two years in the league, playing just 16 games total because of foot injuries. With the Ravens as deep as any team at running back, Taliaferro could be on the outside looking in if he is unable to stay healthy through training camp.

Ravens placed RB Lorenzo Taliaferro on injured reserve with a foot injury, ending his season.

Taliaferro battled the foot issue all season. He was listed as probable last week, but declared inactive for Week 5, signaling Taliaferro may have suffered a setback. The nature of his foot injury is unclear, and hopefully it's not a Lisfranc issue. Buck Allen is now locked in as Justin Forsett's top backup. The Ravens claimed RB Raheem Mostert off waivers to take Taliaferro's spot.
Wed, Oct 14, 2015 04:27:00 PM

Lorenzo Taliaferro (foot) did not practice Wednesday.

With Justin Forsett (ankle) also sidelined, Buck Allen worked with the ones. Taliaferro was listed as probable for Week 5 but ended up being inactive. It's possible all his injury woes have moved him down the depth chart.
Wed, Oct 14, 2015 02:21:00 PM

Lorenzo Taliaferro (foot) is inactive for Week 5 against the Browns.

Taliaferro was listed as probable, so this is a surprise scratch. Taliaferro may have fallen behind Buck Allen on the Ravens' running back depth chart. As Taliaferro has served as Baltimore's red-zone specialist when healthy this season, his absence upgrades Justin Forsett's chances of hitting pay dirt.
