Dolphins placed WR Albert Wilson (hip) on injured reserve.
This was fully expected. The Dolphins already designated two players to return this season, so Wilson won't be back this year. The good news is he doesn't need surgery. Wilson should be 100 percent for the start of OTAs. Oct 24 - 4:09 PM

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Dolphins will "most likely" place Albert Wilson (hip) on injured reserve.

Wilson doesn't need hip surgery, but the Dolphins want to give him time to recover correctly, so he will hit the injured reserve. Wilson, who can't return once he's placed on IR since the Fins already designated two players to return this season, is still only 26 years old and will be back with the Dolphins next season. With Kenny Stills ruled out for Week 8, the Dolphins will trot out Danny Amendola, Jakeem Grant, and DeVante Parker.

Albert Wilson (hip) has been ruled out for Week 8 against the Texans.

Kenny Stills (groin) has also been ruled out, leaving Danny Amendola and Jakeem Grant as the Dolphins' top-two wideouts. DeVante Parker should also be active after his recent de facto healthy scratches.

Albert Wilson (hip) is visiting a specialist to determine the severity of his injury.

All we really know is that Wilson is going to miss multiple games. Even if it's not a season-ending issue, Wilson will probably be sent to injured reserve to heal. He's droppable in all formats of fantasy.
Oct 22 - 1:20 PM

Agent Drew Rosenhaus said Albert Wilson's hip injury could cost him the season.

"The best-case scenario is that he would miss a few weeks," Rosenhaus added. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Wilson is dealing with a labral issue in his hip. With Kenny Stills also injured, the Dolphins are down to Danny Amendola, Jakeem Grant, and a disgruntled DeVante Parker at receiver.

The Miami Herald confirms Albert Wilson is dealing with a hip injury.

Wilson was previously listed with a leg injury. He'll undergo an MRI to determine the severity, but with Miami playing on Thursday night, he's likely out this week. The Dolphins may be forced to hold on to DeVante Parker if Wilson misses extended time.
Oct 21 - 4:55 PM

Albert Wilson (leg) has been ruled out for the second half of the Dolphins' Week 7 game against the Lions.

The exact nature of Wilson's injury remains unclear. The Dolphins will finish the game with just three active receivers.
Oct 21 - 2:32 PM

Albert Wilson was forced from Sunday's game against the Lions with a right leg injury and is questionable to return.

Wilson had his knee looked at on the sideline before limping to the locker room. Wilson was injured after taking an awkward step evading a tackle at the end of a 24-yard reception. He was soaking up targets before departing. If Wilson is done for the day, the Dolphins will be down to three active receivers.
Oct 21 - 1:51 PM

Albert Wilson delivered six catches for 155 yards and two touchdowns on nine targets Sunday in Miami’s Week 6 victory over the Bears.

This was only the second 100-yard receiving game of Wilson's career. The first-year Dolphin did nearly all of his damage in the second half, blowing up for 150 yards after the break. Wilson showed game-breaking speed in the fourth quarter by turning a simple dump-off from Brock Osweiler into a 43-yard touchdown. He bettered that with a 75-yard touchdown later in the quarter, which tied the game at 28 with just over three minutes remaining. With so many mouths to feed in Miami, Wilson won't be someone fantasy owners can consistently rely on, though his touchdown prowess—he's now visited the end zone four times this season—puts him in play as a bye-week fill-in/DFS dart throw. We'll see what he does for an encore next week against the Lions.
Oct 14 - 5:04 PM

Albert Wilson caught 4-of-6 targets for 19 yards in the Dolphins' Week 4 loss to the Patriots, adding a two-yard rush.

Wilson how has five touches in 3-of-4 games, though he's on pace for a modest 712 yards from scrimmage. Wilson seems like a classic "better in real life than fantasy" player.
Sep 30 - 5:58 PM

Albert Wilson caught 2-of-2 targets for 74 yards and a touchdown in the Dolphins' Week 3 win over the Raiders, adding a 52-yard touchdown pass.

For the passing touchdown, Wilson got the ball on a double reverse then delivered a perfect strike down the right sideline to Jakeem Grant. For the receiving, Wilson took a shovel pass from Ryan Tannehill, found the edge, hit the hole and exploded through the Raiders' entire defense for a 74-yard score. Electrifying stuff. Of course, Wilson has just eight grabs through three games. He will make big plays in the Dolphins' creative offense, but the road to re-draft value is too long and winding.
Sep 23 - 6:43 PM

Albert Wilson caught 3-of-5 targets for 37 yards and a touchdown in the Dolphins' Week 2 win over the Jets.

He beat Buster Skrine for a 29-yard score but was otherwise quiet. Operating as Miami's No. 3/4 receiver in a rotation with Danny Amendola, Kenny Stills, and Jakeem Grant, Wilson has drawn 4 and 5 targets through two weeks. The Dolphins' low-volume passing offense limits the upside of all its members. Wilson led the team in receiving yards with just 37 on Sunday.
Sep 16 - 6:15 PM

Albert Wilson expects to be used all over the field, including at running back.

Unsure where to use Wilson, the Dolphins will apparently feature him everywhere. That includes both the boundary and the slot in addition to the backfield. According to reporter Barry Jackson, "several gimmicky, creative plays involving Wilson have netted substantial gains in practice." Wilson carried the ball 10 times in four years in Kansas City, turning one of them into a 55-yard touchdown. Despite, or perhaps because of, his varied role, Wilson is unlikely to come into fantasy value.
Aug 7 - 7:21 PM

Dolphins coach Adam Gase said the team is trying to find Albert Wilson's role.

This seems like something to figure out before handing someone a three-year, $24 million deal, but Wilson has been working behind DeVante Parker, Kenny Stills, and Danny Amendola so far in camp. Amendola's spot would seemingly be the best place for Wilson to earn snaps, but Gase said the two players play different positions. According to PFF, Wilson ran 58 percent of his routes from the slot last year in Kansas City. Unless something changes, Wilson is not worth a look in redraft leagues.
Jul 30 - 12:31 PM

Albert Wilson was a standout at Dolphins OTAs.

According to the Miami Herald, the Dolphins have been impressed with Wilson's versatility and believe he's capable of lining up outside or in the backfield as well as the slot. "He’s really done a nice job the past two weeks," said WRs coach Ben Johnson. "His versatility is really, really showing up." Wilson has never been a big fantasy contributor but he'll have his best opportunity yet in Miami, where the Dolphins are looking to replace Jarvis Landry's league-high 112 catches.
