Broncos placed RB Kapri Bibbs on injured reserve with a high ankle sprain, ending his season.
It's a shame after Bibbs gave the Broncos some of their most explosive runs of the season in Sunday's win at Jacksonville. The Broncos will move forward with Justin Forsett as their No. 2 back behind shaky starter Devontae Booker, whose performance is seemingly getting worse every week. Bibbs is primarily a special teamer and not someone worth stashing in any Dynasty leagues. Dec 5 - 5:16 PM

Date:

Broncos RB Kapri Bibbs was spotted with a boot on his left ankle after Sunday's game.

Bibbs reportedly suffered a high-ankle sprain against the Jaguars, meaning he is going to be out at least a couple weeks. With Devontae Booker struggling and not much else on the depth chart, the Broncos will need to add someone off the street. Justin Forsett was just cut by the Lions.
Dec 5 - 9:31 AM

Broncos RB Kapri Bibbs left Sunday's Week 13 game with a high ankle sprain.

Bibbs was the Broncos' most effective rusher before the injury, piling up 49 yards on five carries. High ankle sprains are multi-week injuries.
Dec 4 - 2:51 PM

Kapri Bibbs rushed nine times for 22 yards in Week 12 against the Chiefs.

Bibbs was checked for a concussion in the first quarter, but only missed a series. He struggled to do anything with his limited carries and continued to get out-touched by Devontae Booker. Bibbs isn't more than an RB4 stash.
Nov 28 - 1:06 AM

Kapri Bibbs left Week 12 against the Chiefs with a possible concussion.

Bibbs was injured on a helmet-to-helmet hit from Eric Berry in the first quarter. He was cleared to return after missing one series.
Nov 27 - 9:07 PM

Kapri Bibbs rushed seven times for 22 yards in the Broncos' Week 10 win over the Saints.

Bibbs failed to corral his lone target in the passing game. Devontae Booker remained ineffective on the ground, but out-touched Bibbs 26-7 after coach Gary Kubiak said Bibbs had earned more work. Perhaps the ratio won't be quite so lopsided in Week 12 against the Chiefs, but Bibbs' RB3 case has disappeared as quickly as it appeared.
Nov 13 - 5:36 PM

The Denver Post expects both Devontae Booker and Kapri Bibbs to receive a "number" of touches against the Saints.

They're the Broncos' only two running backs active at the Superdome. Booker should still lead the backfield, but most signs have pointed toward Bibbs making it a committee. Booker is a low-end RB2, Bibbs an upside RB3.
Nov 13 - 11:44 AM

NBC Denver believes Kapri Bibbs could supplant Devontae Booker as the Broncos' lead back in Week 10.

Speaking Monday, coach Gary Kubiak said Bibbs had earned more work. Booker played 46-of-56 snaps against the Raiders, compared to nine for Bibbs, but longtime beat writer Mike Klis believes "(that) ratio figures to change in Bibbs' favor vs. New Orleans." Booker out-touched Bibbs 11-3, but Bibbs out-gained him 80-30 thanks to a weaving 69-yard touchdown reception. Booker has been extremely ineffective through two starts in place of C.J. Anderson, gaining just 76 yards on 29 carries (2.62 YPC), but we'd still consider him the favorite to lead the Week 10 backfield. Bibbs will undoubtedly be more involved, however.
Nov 7 - 3:09 PM

Kapri Bibbs rushed twice for 11 yards and caught a 69-yard touchdown in Week 9 against Oakland.

Bibbs was the No. 2 back behind Devontae Booker. He played only eight snaps, but showed good YAC and reversed the field on his highlight 69-yard touchdown. With Booker struggling, Bibbs could see more carries in Week 10 against the Saints.
Nov 7 - 12:42 AM

9 News Denver's Mike Klis called 2016 a "make-or-break season" for RB Kapri Bibbs.

The Broncos kept only three running backs on their roster last season. C.J. Anderson, Ronnie Hillman and rookie Devontae Booker figure to occupy those three spots in 2016, leaving Bibbs and Juwan Thompson on the roster bubble. Bibbs appeared in one game for Denver last year, returning a kickoff for 15 yards in a win over Cleveland. He's a long shot to make the 53-man roster.
Jun 3 - 4:22 PM

Broncos signed RB Kapri Bibbs to a reserve/future contract.

Bibbs was active for one game last season, a Week 6 win over Cleveland. He returned a kick for 15 yards but didn't see carries. Even with Ronnie Hillman headed for free agency, Bibbs faces an uphill battle to crack Denver's 53-man roster.
Feb 10 - 5:49 PM

Broncos released RB Kapri Bibbs.

Bibbs was competing for Denver's last spot at running back but lost out to Montee Ball. He totaled 27 yards on six carries this preseason. Bibbs will likely be added to the practice squad if he clears waivers.

Broncos waived RB Kapri Bibbs.

Bibbs was promoted from the practice squad last month after drawing interest from Buffalo. He didn't appear in any games. The Broncos signed RB Jeremy Stewart in a corresponding move.

The Broncos promoted RB Kapri Bibbs from the practice squad before he was drawing interest from the Bills.

Bibbs' promotion raised eyebrows since the Broncos already have Montee Ball, C.J. Anderson, Juwan Thompson and Ronnie Hillman on the 53-man roster, but they didn't want to lose Bibbs to Buffalo. An undrafted rookie out of Colorado State, Bibbs is a power back at 5-foot-9, 212 pounds with 4.67 wheels. He's unlikely to get work outside special teams on Sundays.

Broncos signed RB Kapri Bibbs off their practice squad.

LB Shaquil Barrett was waived in a corresponding move, meaning the Broncos now have four running backs on their 53-man roster. It might be a case of the Broncos wanting to prevent another team from signing Bibbs.
