Redskins CB Bashaud Breeland (knee) is active for Week 7 against the Eagles.

With Josh Norman (ribs) out, Breeland is essentially the Redskins' No. 1 corner.
Oct 23 - 7:09 PM

NFL Network's Mike Garofolo reports Redskins CB Bashaud Breeland (knee) is "pushing to play" Monday against the Eagles, and will likely be active.

Garofolo hints Breeland will likely be on a pitch count if he does suit up. With Josh Norman (ribs) out, even a limited Breeland would be a big boost against the Eagles' white-hot passing attack.

Redskins CB Bashaud Breeland (MCL) is questionable for Week 7 against the Eagles.

In addition to Breeland, S Deshazor Everett (hamstring), S Stefan McClure (knee), LB Mason Foster (shoulder), RB Rob Kelley (ankle) and T Trent Williams are all questionable as well.
Oct 21 - 1:58 PM

Redskins CB Bashaud Breeland (MCL) returned to individual drills at Thursday's practice but was quickly shut down by the coaching staff.

Per Liz Clarke of the Washington Post, Breeland was covering Jamison Crowder when coaches yelled for him to stop. It's unclear if he suffered a setback or if the Redskins are just being extra cautious with Breeland coming off a sprained MCL. He'll have an extra day to recover with Washington playing the Eagles on Monday night.
Oct 19 - 1:59 PM

Redskins CB Bashaud Breeland (MCL) will undergo an MRI on Monday.

Breeland bowed out with a knee/MCL injury in the third quarter Sunday against San Francisco. Per Rich Handler of NBC Sports Washington, Breeland didn't have a brace on his knee but was walking with a "pronounced limp" after the game. With Josh Norman (ribs) already on the shelf, the Redskins could ill-afford to lose another cornerback.
Oct 16 - 10:11 AM

CSN Mid-Atlantic's Rich Tandler doesn't expect the Redskins to give contract-year CB Bashaud Breeland an extension.

Per Tandler, Breeland is expected to command $8-10 million per year on a new deal, and the Redskins aren't expected to give him that considering they drafted CBs Kendall Fuller and Fabian Moreau in the third rounds each of the past two years. Breeland, 25, has yet to put it all together at corner.
Sep 6 - 10:37 AM

The Washington Post reports there's been "talk" of moving Redskins RCB Bashaud Breeland to safety.

Per reporter Mike Jones, the organization appears divided over Breeland's future position. Breeland, who was projected by some as a free safety coming out of Clemson, struggled at corner last season. On paper, Breeland's measurables have always profiled him as more of a safety than corner.
Feb 9 - 5:03 PM

Redskins RCB Bashaud Breeland is dealing with another ankle injury.

It's unwanted news after Breeland missed Weeks 4 and 5 with a right ankle issue, but if there's good news, it's that this one is to his left foot. Breeland also played through the injury in Sunday's loss to the Lions. He'll likely be out there against the Bengals in London. The Redskins really need Breeland to go with Josh Norman in the concussion protocol.

Redskins CB Bashaud Breeland (ankle) is active for Week 6.

Breeland will start opposite Josh Norman after missing the last two games. With CB Dashaun Phillips (hamstring) sidelined, Kendall Fuller will get the majority of nickel snaps. Washington's inactives are TE Jordan Reed, QB Nate Sudfeld, S/LB Su'a Cravens, WR Josh Doctson, DE Anthony Lanier, and OL Winston Painter

Redskins CB Bashaud Breeland (ankle) is "very confident" he'll play Sunday against the Eagles.

Coach Jay Gruden also expects Breeland to play. Breeland practiced on a limited basis Wednesday and is on track to return after missing the last two games. The Redskins could also get CB Dashaun Phillips (hamstring) back this week.
Wed, Oct 12, 2016 07:10:00 PM

Redskins coach Jay Gruden suggested CB Bashaud Breeland (ankle) has a good chance to play this week.

Gruden also thinks CB Dashaun Phillips (hamstring) could return as well. "We're confident they have a chance to be ready," Gruden said, "especially Breeland." Breeland has missed the last two games with strained tendons in his right ankle. His return would be a big boost for the secondary.
