The Washington Post reports there's been "talk" of moving Redskins RCB Bashaud Breeland to safety.
Per reporter Mike Jones, the organization appears divided over Breeland's future position. Breeland, who was projected by some as a free safety coming out of Clemson, struggled at corner last season. On paper, Breeland's measurables have always profiled him as more of a safety than corner. Feb 9 - 5:03 PM

Redskins RCB Bashaud Breeland is dealing with another ankle injury.

It's unwanted news after Breeland missed Weeks 4 and 5 with a right ankle issue, but if there's good news, it's that this one is to his left foot. Breeland also played through the injury in Sunday's loss to the Lions. He'll likely be out there against the Bengals in London. The Redskins really need Breeland to go with Josh Norman in the concussion protocol.

Redskins CB Bashaud Breeland (ankle) is active for Week 6.

Breeland will start opposite Josh Norman after missing the last two games. With CB Dashaun Phillips (hamstring) sidelined, Kendall Fuller will get the majority of nickel snaps. Washington's inactives are TE Jordan Reed, QB Nate Sudfeld, S/LB Su'a Cravens, WR Josh Doctson, DE Anthony Lanier, and OL Winston Painter

Redskins CB Bashaud Breeland (ankle) is "very confident" he'll play Sunday against the Eagles.

Coach Jay Gruden also expects Breeland to play. Breeland practiced on a limited basis Wednesday and is on track to return after missing the last two games. The Redskins could also get CB Dashaun Phillips (hamstring) back this week.

Redskins coach Jay Gruden suggested CB Bashaud Breeland (ankle) has a good chance to play this week.

Gruden also thinks CB Dashaun Phillips (hamstring) could return as well. "We're confident they have a chance to be ready," Gruden said, "especially Breeland." Breeland has missed the last two games with strained tendons in his right ankle. His return would be a big boost for the secondary.

Redskins declared CB Bashaud Breeland, QB Nate Sudfeld, WR Josh Doctson, CB Dashaun Phillips, OL Vinston Painter, DE Anthony Lanier, and LG Shawn Lauvao inactive for Week 4.

Redskins CB Bashaud Breeland (ankle) is out for Week 4 against the Browns.

He's week to week with a high-ankle sprain. Josh Norman and Greg Toler will cover the boundaries for Washington. With DeAngelo Hall (knee, injured reserve) and Dashaun Phillips (hamstring) also out, Washington will be without three of their top defensive backs.

Redskins CB Bashaud Breeland has a high right ankle sprain.

Breeland left Sunday's win over the Giants in the first few minutes and did not return. High ankle sprains tend to be multi-week injuries. The Redskins are very thin at cornerback and figure to now turn to third-round rookie Kendall Fuller in their nickel package alongside Josh Norman and Dashaun Phillips.

Redskins LCB Bashaud Breeland was forced from Sunday's game against the Giants with an ankle injury, and will not return.

Breeland went down in the opening minutes, and was ruled out late in the first quarter. The quick rule out suggests Breeland is dealing with a high-ankle sprain. Dashaun Phillips, who's already been burned by Sterling Shepard, will see the biggest increase in snaps.

Redskins CB Bashaud Breeland believes he "can do something special this year."

"My confidence is riding high," he said. "I can put myself in the category of being the No. 1 corner in the league or in the top five." Breeland came on strong as a sophomore, and he could take another step forward opposite Josh Norman. DeAngelo Hall recently said this Redskins secondary is the best he's ever played with. With a duo like Breeland and Norman at corner, he may have a point.

Redskins LCB Bashaud Breeland (illness) is listed as questionable for Week 12.

He missed Friday's practice due to a fever. The Redskins lost RCB Chris Culliver (ACL/MCL) for the season on Thursday, and are reeling at cornerback again. It's bad news with an upcoming date against Eli Manning and Odell Beckham.

The Redskins are unsure if LCB Bashaud Breeland (hamstring) will be ready to return after the Week 8 bye.

Breeland has been playing hurt all season, and could need some extra time to get healthy. His loss would further thin an already ridiculously shallow cornerback corps.

CB Bashaun Breeland exited the Redskins' Week 7 win over the Buccaneers with a hamstring injury and did not return.

Breeland hurt himself while bringing down Doug Martin on a 49-yard run late in the fourth quarter. His tackle might have saved the game. Breeland has been banged up all year. Last week he suffered a knee contusion and the week before he was questionable with a bruised rotator cuff. Breeland logged 13 tackles in Sunday's win.

Redskins CB Bashaud Breeland is dealing with a bruised rotator cuff, and is questionable for Week 6.

Per ESPN's John Keim, the injury "makes it tough for Breeland to raise his arm above his shoulder." Breeland is an every-down player, one the Redskins' banged up secondary can ill afford to miss any time.
