Ravens WR Michael Campanaro (calf) is expected to be ready for training camp.
Staying healthy will be the trick for Campanaro considering he has played in just eight games since being selected in the seventh round of the 2014 draft. "It’s been a little rough, but I’m not the first guy and I won’t be the last guy that had injuries early in their career," he said. In a deep receiver group, Campanaro will find himself in a dogfight for one of the final spots in camp. He has to stay healthy to have a shot. Jun 29 - 9:47 PM

Ravens WR Michael Campanaro has been sidelined with a calf injury.

Campanaro has been on the shelf for a "couple of weeks." Coach John Harbaugh said "there will be a time when he gets past this." A 2014 seventh-rounder, Campanaro has been extremely injury prone, appearing in just eight games because of back and thigh injuries. He'll probably be on the outside looking in of Baltimore's crowded receiver corps.

Ravens placed WR Michael Campanaro (back) on season-ending injured reserve.

Campanaro had to be carted to the locker room late in the fourth quarter of the Ravens' Week 4 win over the Steelers. A seventh-round pick last season, Campanaro managed just four games his rookie year while dealing with a thigh injury. He should be back to compete for a roster spot next offseason.

Michael Campanaro totaled 25 yards and a touchdown on three touches in Baltimore's Week 4 win over the Steelers before departing with back injury.

Campanaro departed late in the fourth quarter. Campanaro should have been stopped in the backfield on his nine-yard rushing touchdown, but juked Arthur Moats out of his cleats. Campanaro is a bit player who might not top 25 yards again all season.

Ravens WR Michael Campanaro caught two passes for 58 yards and a touchdown in Baltimore's preseason opener.

Campanaro scored the Ravens' second touchdown of the game on a 45-yard connection with Matt Schaub. A slot receiver at 5-foot-9, 192, Campanaro is a candidate to play a bigger role in Marc Trestman's offense than most expect.

Ravens WR Michael Campanaro (quad) was a full participant for the start of training camp.

Campanaro suffered a "slight quad tear" during May OTAs. A nifty but diminutive slot prospect, Campanaro will spend the summer battling for sub-package receiver snaps behind Steve Smith Sr. and likely starter Breshad Perriman.

Ravens WR Michael Campanaro (quad) is expected to be ready for training camp.

Campanaro has been sidelined with a torn quad since the start of OTAs. He’ll enter camp no higher than the No. 5 receiver. Campanaro is the favorite to replace Jacoby Jones on punt returns.

Ravens WR Michael Campanaro (quad) is dealing with a "slight tear."

The 2014 seventh-rounder is the favorite for kick-return duties. Coach John Harbaugh expects Campanaro to be sidelined until training camp, which begins in two months.

Ravens WR Michael Campanaro injured his quadriceps at practice on Wednesday.

The Ravens are still trying to determine how severe it is. Campanaro is a leading candidate to return kicks this season and could see a bigger role on offense following the departures of Torrey Smith and Owen Daniels. The 24-year-old reeled in seven of his nine targets as a rookie in 2014.

Ravens WR Michael Campanaro is considered a favorite to return kicks and punts this year.

Jacoby Jones was released in February, opening up a need that wasn't filled in the draft. Enter Campanaro, a 2014 seventh-rounder who averaged 23.7 yards per kickoff return and 6.0 yards per punt return at Wake Forest. He's a good bet to stick on the final roster despite the additions of talented wideouts Breshad Perriman and Darren Waller in the draft.

Speaking Wednesday, Ravens coach John Harbaugh named Michael Campanaro and Kamar Aiken as "young players who have a chance to grow into bigger roles this season."

It's perhaps notable that Harbaugh didn't mention third-year WR Marlon Brown, who took a step back in 2014 following a promising rookie year. Campanaro is a second-year slot receiver out of Wake Forest. Aiken, 26, has bounced around since entering the league in 2011, but runs 4.45 with a 10-foot-8 broad jump at 6-foot-1, 213. Both are worth looks in deeper Dynasty leagues.

ESPN Ravens reporter Jamison Hensley believes second-year WR Michael Campanaro is the "top candidate" to return kicks.

Following the release of Jacoby Jones, the Ravens would seem to be in the market for a kick returner. Campanaro is the favorite among players currently on the roster, but Baltimore could address the position through free agency or the draft. Campanaro should supplant Marlon Brown as the Ravens' slot receiver in 2015.

Michael Campanaro caught 4-of-4 targets for 39 yards in Baltimore's Divisional Round loss to the Patriots.

The seventh-round rookie "added" a zero-yard rush. Slowed by thigh and hamstring issues, Campanaro ended up making just four appearances, catching seven passes for 102 yards and a touchdown. Standing in at 5-foot-9, 185 pounds, Campanaro is a prototypical slot receiver. He has a decent shot at earning those duties for Joe Flacco in 2015.

Michael Campanaro caught 1-of-3 targets for 17 yards Week 17 against the Browns.

Campanaro flashed early in as the Ravens' slot receiver early in the season, but he had been sidelined by a thigh injury since Week 8. Now healthy, Campanaro will look to contribute in the playoffs. Campanaro is a better fit in the slot than current resident Marlon Brown, and he has a great chance to carve out a role in the Ravens' offense in 2015.

Ravens declared WR Michael Campanaro (thigh) inactive for Sunday's Week 13 game against the Chargers.

Campanaro hasn't played since Week 8. No surprises in the rest of the Ravens inactives: CB Rashaan Melvin, LB Arthur Brown, DT Terrence Cody, G/T Jah Reid, DE DeAngelo Tyson and G/C Geno Gradkowski.
