Ravens WR Michael Campanaro (quad) is expected to be ready for training camp.

Ravens WR Michael Campanaro (quad) is dealing with a "slight tear."

The 2014 seventh-rounder is the favorite for kick-return duties. Coach John Harbaugh expects Campanaro to be sidelined until training camp, which begins in two months.

Ravens WR Michael Campanaro injured his quadriceps at practice on Wednesday.

The Ravens are still trying to determine how severe it is. Campanaro is a leading candidate to return kicks this season and could see a bigger role on offense following the departures of Torrey Smith and Owen Daniels. The 24-year-old reeled in seven of his nine targets as a rookie in 2014.

Ravens WR Michael Campanaro is considered a favorite to return kicks and punts this year.

Jacoby Jones was released in February, opening up a need that wasn't filled in the draft. Enter Campanaro, a 2014 seventh-rounder who averaged 23.7 yards per kickoff return and 6.0 yards per punt return at Wake Forest. He's a good bet to stick on the final roster despite the additions of talented wideouts Breshad Perriman and Darren Waller in the draft.
May 14 - 8:24 AM

Speaking Wednesday, Ravens coach John Harbaugh named Michael Campanaro and Kamar Aiken as "young players who have a chance to grow into bigger roles this season."

It's perhaps notable that Harbaugh didn't mention third-year WR Marlon Brown, who took a step back in 2014 following a promising rookie year. Campanaro is a second-year slot receiver out of Wake Forest. Aiken, 26, has bounced around since entering the league in 2011, but runs 4.45 with a 10-foot-8 broad jump at 6-foot-1, 213. Both are worth looks in deeper Dynasty leagues.
Apr 8 - 4:16 PM

ESPN Ravens reporter Jamison Hensley believes second-year WR Michael Campanaro is the "top candidate" to return kicks.

Following the release of Jacoby Jones, the Ravens would seem to be in the market for a kick returner. Campanaro is the favorite among players currently on the roster, but Baltimore could address the position through free agency or the draft. Campanaro should supplant Marlon Brown as the Ravens' slot receiver in 2015.

Michael Campanaro caught 4-of-4 targets for 39 yards in Baltimore's Divisional Round loss to the Patriots.

The seventh-round rookie "added" a zero-yard rush. Slowed by thigh and hamstring issues, Campanaro ended up making just four appearances, catching seven passes for 102 yards and a touchdown. Standing in at 5-foot-9, 185 pounds, Campanaro is a prototypical slot receiver. He has a decent shot at earning those duties for Joe Flacco in 2015.
Jan 10 - 9:31 PM

Michael Campanaro caught 1-of-3 targets for 17 yards Week 17 against the Browns.

Campanaro flashed early in as the Ravens' slot receiver early in the season, but he had been sidelined by a thigh injury since Week 8. Now healthy, Campanaro will look to contribute in the playoffs. Campanaro is a better fit in the slot than current resident Marlon Brown, and he has a great chance to carve out a role in the Ravens' offense in 2015.

Ravens rookie WR Michael Campanaro caught 3-of-3 targets for 40 yards before exiting Sunday's Week 8 game with a hamstring injury.

Ravens signed seventh-round WR Michael Campanaro to a four-year contract.

Campanaro projects as a slot receiver and potential return man at the NFL level. The diminutive wideout ran a 4.46 forty and registered an impressive 39-inch vertical at the Combine. After Torrey Smith, Steve Smith, and Jacoby Jones, the Ravens' receiver depth chart is wide open. Campanaro could stick.
