According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, C.J. Fiedorowicz may be forced to retire after suffering his fourth concussion in the last two seasons.
Fiedorowicz was placed on I.R. last week after suffering his third concussion of the year. To continue his career, the 26-year-old would likely have to pass a team physical, which could be a tall task given his lengthy history of brain injuries. Fiedorowicz agreed to a three-year, $21 million extension with $10 million guaranteed over the summer, though the deal includes a de-escalator that would reduce his base salary to $2.8 million if he were cut due to a pre-existing injury such as a concussion. Texans coach Bill O'Brien said he expects C.J. Fiedorowicz (concussion, injured reserve) to continue his career.

Fiedorowicz landed on injured reserve after suffering his third concussion of the year in Week 13. O'Brien said he has not talked to Fiedorowicz yet, but he does expect him to return. Fiedorowicz signed a three-year extension which included $10 million guaranteed in August.
Dec 7 - 10:02 AM

Texans placed TE C.J. Fiedorowicz on injured reserve with a concussion, ending his season.

It's the worst possible news after Fiedorowicz just returned from an I.R. stint with a concussion in Week 10. He also suffered a concussion late last season. Now 26, Fiedorowicz will probably have to re-evaluate his NFL future. The 2014 third-rounder signed an extension in August, and is under Texans control through 2020.
Dec 5 - 5:05 PM

C.J. Fiedorowicz left Week 13 with a concussion.

It's a concern after Fiedorowicz went on IR with concussion issues earlier this season. His latest concussion could shut him down for the year.
Dec 3 - 2:16 PM

C.J. Fiedorowicz caught 4-of-7 targets for 37 yards in the Texans' Week 12 loss to the Ravens.

It's a step forward from recent weeks since his return from IR, but Fiedorowicz remains off the streaming radar with Tom Savage being so inconsistent. Fiedorowicz was the target on Savage's final interception that sealed the loss. The big tight end can be ignored next week against Tennessee.
Nov 28 - 12:00 AM

C.J. Fiedorowicz hauled in both of his targets for 18 yards in the Texans' Week 11 win over the Cardinals.

Fiedorowicz now has just four catches for 28 yards total since returning from injured reserve. Until he proves a bigger part of the offense, he can be left on the waiver wire.
Nov 19 - 5:21 PM

C.J. Fiedorowicz hauled in just 2-of-6 targets for 10 yards in the Texans' Week 10 loss to the Rams.

It was a disappointing return for Fiedorowicz, who spent eight weeks on injured reserve with a concussion. He escaped from the game unscathed, however, and the Texans will need someone to target with Will Fuller dealing with a rib injury. Fiedorowicz will be on the streaming map against the Cardinals next week.
Nov 12 - 7:49 PM

Texans TE C.J. Fiedorowicz (concussion, IR) is expected to "play a lot" in Sunday's game with the Rams.

Fiedorowicz is on track to return for the first time since Week 1 after making it through practice without any setbacks. He should regain his role as the No. 1 tight end, but likely won't play every-down snaps. With Tom Savage starting, Fiedorowicz could see a lot of checkdowns.
Nov 10 - 2:12 PM

Texans activated TE C.J. Fiedorowicz (concussion) from injured reserve.

Fiedorowicz was concussed in Week 1 and battled a couple concussions last season, so the Texans shut him down for two months. He's expected to play against the Rams and will have streaming appeal down the stretch.
Nov 8 - 9:29 AM

Texans coach Bill O'Brien said there's a "good chance" C.J. Fiedorowicz (I.R., concussion) will return against the Rams in Week 10.

He's close to coming back from a concussion that has sidelined him since Week 2. His return will likely come at the expense of Ryan Griffin.
Nov 2 - 3:16 PM

C.J. Fiedorowicz (I.R., concussion) returned to practice on Wednesday.

It's his first practice since suffering a concussion in Week 1. If the Texans designate Fiedorowicz for return, which seems likely, he can be activated in two weeks. Ryan Griffin has been filling in at tight end.
Oct 25 - 4:38 PM

Texans placed TE C.J. Fiedorowicz on injured reserve with a concussion.

The move comes after Fiedorowicz suffered two concussions in short succession. He was injured late in camp and then again on Sunday. It's a big blow to the Texans' offense, as Fiedorowicz is their primary pass catcher at tight end. The Texans are thin at receiver while Will Fuller (collarbone) is sidelined. Ryan Griffin should absorb most of Fiedorowicz's lost targets, but is missing Week 2 with a concussion of his own, as is third-stringer Stephen Anderson. It's a dire situation in Houston.
Sep 12 - 4:40 PM

Texans coach Bill O'Brien said C.J. Fiedorowicz (concussion) is unlikely to play Week 2.

The coach actually said the five players dealing with concussions were unlikely to play, but Fiedorowicz is on that list. With Ryan Griffin and Stephen Anderson also in the protocol, the Texans have a big hole at tight end. Brian Cushing and Bruce Ellington are the other two on the list.
Sep 11 - 12:48 PM

C.J. Fiedorowicz (concussion) is done for the day in Week 1.

It puts him in a bad spot ahead of Houston's Week 2 Thursday nighter in Cincinnati. We doubt Fiedorowicz will play. As Ryan Griffin was also concussed on Sunday, Stephen Anderson figures to draw the start next week.
Sep 10 - 3:16 PM

Texans TE C.J. Fiedorowicz has cleared the concussion protocol.

He's practicing fully ahead of Sunday's game with Jacksonville. Fiedorowicz's return cuts into DeAndre Hopkins' red-zone targets.
