Cardinals released RB Marion Grice with an injury settlement.

Grice was given ample opportunity to carve out a role in Arizona's thin 2014 backfield, but failed to do so. The 2014 sixth rounder will search for practice squad work.

Cardinals waived/injured RB Marion Grice.

Grice suffered a shoulder injury in late August, but was already expendable following the Cardinals' offseason additions of David and Chris Johnson. Grice will probably be released with an injury settlement later on.

Marion Grice rushed one time for a one-yard touchdown in the Cardinals' Wild Card loss to the Panthers.

He played well behind Stepfan Taylor and Kerwynn Williams but saw the money carry from the one-yard line in the second quarter and broke the plane for the touchdown after it was initially ruled a fumble. Grice spent much of the season on the active roster, but managed just 41 yards and one touchdown on 15 carries in the regular season. He'll compete for a roster spot next summer.

Marion Grice rushed three times for six yards Week 14 against the Chiefs.

Grice played an ineffective 14 snaps behind Stepfan Taylor and Kerwynn Williams. Grice has some passing game chops, but he is an underwhelming athlete with limited long-term upside. He is well off the redraft radar and is not a particularly exciting hold in Dynasty formats.

Darren Urban of the Cardinals' website expects the team to use a "by committee" approach at running back in Week 14 at Kansas City.

Stepfan Taylor will get the start. Marion Grice is something of a passing-game specialist, and may mix in for some checkdowns from Drew Stanton. Per beat writer Mike Jurecki, whether street free agent signee Michael Bush plays will be a "game-time decision." This backfield is a mess in fantasy football.

Coach Bruce Arians said Marion Grice will likely start if Andre Ellington (hip) can't play in Sunday's Week 14 game against the Chiefs.

Ellington was "pretty sore" on Monday and will not practice Wednesday. It creates a big chance for Grice, a sixth-round pick of the Chargers who lost a camp battle to Branden Oliver. A versatile yet unspectacular back that plays well in the passing game, Grice posted five carries for 16 yards and three catches for 25 yards while playing roughly 2.5 quarters as the feature back following Ellington's injury last week at Atlanta. He's not going to fix a running game that has struggled to open holes all year, but he's a good bet for 10-14 touches Sunday. Owners just need to realize that Stepfan Taylor, Michael Bush and maybe even Robert Hughes could also get involved.

Marion Grice rushed five times for 16 yards and caught three passes for 24 yards in Sunday's Week 13 loss at Atlanta.

Andre Ellington left in the first half with a hip injury and did not return. Grice operated as the main back, but lost third-down work and hurry-up duties to Stepfan Taylor, who caught a touchdown on his only touch. Even if Ellington misses time, Grice will be a low-upside add as Michael Bush figures to get into the mix next week and Taylor isn't going away. Drew Stanton is also crippling this entire offense. Grice is a deep-league flier only for desperate owners.

Marion Grice was held without a touch in Arizona's Week 11 win over the Lions.

With the return of Stepfan Taylor (calf), Grice returned to No. 3 on the depth chart. That's where he'll remain going forward.
Sun, Nov 16, 2014 08:11:00 PM

Marion Grice rushed for one yard on one carry in Week 10 against the Rams.

Grice continues to be talked up by the coaching staff, but Andre Ellington is dominating the touches in the Arizona backfield. Grice is merely a handcuff.
Sun, Nov 9, 2014 08:03:00 PM

Coach Bruce Arians said RB Marion Grice has made strides learning the offense and will be part of the game plan Week 10 against the Rams.

Grice saw his first action of the season last week against the Cowboys, rushing for 12 yards and one touchdown on five carries. He's seen the occasional first-team rep during practice, but this is still Andre Ellington's backfield. Ellington is averaging a robust 22.6 touches per game this season.
Wed, Nov 5, 2014 02:50:00 PM

Marion Grice rushed five times for 12 yards and a touchdown in Arizona's Week 9 win over the Cowboys.

The score was the undrafted rookie's first of the season. Four of Grice's five carries came late as the Cardinals gave a heavily-worked Andre Ellington some rest. Grice will be Ellington's backup for however long Stepfan Taylor (calf) is sidelined.
Sun, Nov 2, 2014 05:51:00 PM

Cardinals declared RB Marion Grice, TE Troy Niklas, DT Bruce Gaston, DE Calais Campbell, LB Desmond Bishop, LB Glenn Carson, and LB Thomas Keiser inactive for Week 7 against the Raiders.

Grice got some first-team reps early in the practice week, but is still behind Andre Ellington and Stepfan Taylor on the running back depth chart.
Sun, Oct 19, 2014 02:55:00 PM

Cardinals RB Marion Grice received some first-team reps at Wednesday's practice.

Cards OC Harold Goodwin revealed the news during a Friday chat with reporters. Andre Ellington has struggled on the ground this season (3.77 YPC), and the Cards don't seem smitten with plodder Stepfan Taylor as their No. 2 back. An excellent receiving back, Grice is worth a look in deeper Dynasty PPR leagues.
Fri, Oct 17, 2014 02:34:00 PM

Cardinals signed RB Marion Grice off the Chargers' practice squad.

The Cardinals escaped Week 3 without any notable injuries. Grice will likely take the spot of RB Jalen Parmele, who was signed when Jonathan Dwyer was sent to the NFI list. Grice is a sixth-round rookie out of Arizona State. He's an average athlete, but can get what's blocked and catch passes out of the backfield. Grice is a candidate to bypass No. 2 RB Stepfan Taylor on the depth chart.
