Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official website singled out third-year LE DaQuan Jones as someone who has a chance to take a "giant step" forward this season.
The 112th pick in the 2014 draft, Jones started all 16 games at left end in the Titans' 3-4 base defense last season and received really strong marks from Pro Football Focus for his run defense. Per Wyatt, Jones "should be a force to be reckoned with" and was "especially impressive" during the spring. With RE Jurell Casey drawing all the attention, Jones will see a ton of one-on-ones. Coach Ken Whisenhunt said second-year DL DaQuan Jones is a starter for the Titans.

Jones was the 112th pick in last year's draft and played 143 snaps, starting the Week 17 finale. He played some end and nose tackle in DC Ray Horton's 3-4 scheme. Jones currently projects to the end spot opposite Pro Bowl DE Jurrell Casey, though nose tackle could also be up for grabs on a weak line.

Titans signed fourth-round NT DaQuan Jones to a four-year contract.

Jones was one of Tennessee's few "value" picks in the draft, as he was nabbed at pick No. 112 and should be an early contributor in DC Ray Horton's 3-4. The Titans currently lack a true anchor-type nose tackle. Al Woods is best utilized as an end-nose reserve. Sammie Lee Hill is more of a one-gap player.

Titans selected Penn State DT DaQuan Jones with the No. 112 overall pick in the 2014 NFL draft.

Jones (6-foot-3 3/4, 322) anchored the Nittany Lions' defense, tallying 11.5 tackles for loss and three sacks as a senior, while leading all Big Ten defensive tackles in quarterback hits. Jones ran 5.35 at the Combine with an 8-foot-5 broad jump and 25 reps on the bench. Jones lacks NFL pass-rusher traits, but plays with power, aggressiveness and physicality. He projects as a two-down lane clogger.
