Packers signed C Corey Linsley to a three-year, $25.5 million extension through 2020.
Linsley was one of the Packers' top priority signings along with Davante Adams, who they re-signed on Friday. Despite Green Bay shelling out a large contract, Linsley is having the worst season of his career, grading as Pro Football Focus' 23rd ranked center. With Linsley and Adams locked up, the Packers may focus their attention on Aaron Rodgers, who has two years left on his deal but is severely underpaid. Sat, Dec 30, 2017 11:23:00 AM

Packers C Corey Linsley said he will "follow the plan" for his ankle surgery this year.

Linsley did not follow the plan while recovering from a torn hamstring last year, and it cost him half the season. "I was trying to get ahead of it, and I ended up behind," he said. "Now it’s a matter of knowing I’ll be OK as long as I follow this plan." Coach Mike McCarthy expects Linsley to be ready for camp. With J.C. Tretter now in Cleveland, Linsley is the locked-in starter at center.

Packers coach Mike McCarthy said the team still expects C Corey Linsley (ankle surgery) to be ready for camp.

Linsley missed the entire offseason program, but McCarthy is sticking to the timeline the Packers floated in March. With questions at guard, the Packers need Linsley fully healthy this season, so it would not be surprising if they are cautious early in camp. He should be 100 percent well before Week 1, however.

Packers C Corey Linsley is recovering from ankle surgery, and could be sidelined until training camp.

It's apparently a "clean up" operation stemming from Linsley's 2015 high-ankle sprain. Linsley missed seven games in 2016 with a hamstring issue. He's expected to be close to 100 percent by "mid-May," but the notoriously injury-cautious Pack will likely hold him out until camp. Linsley is an above average pivot when healthy.

Packers activated C Corey Linsley (hamstring) off the PUP list.

Linsley opened the year on the PUP after tearing his hamstring twice over the offseason. He will replace J.C. Tretter, who is sidelined with a knee injury. Linsley has started 29 games at center over the last two seasons.

Corey Linsley (hamstring, PUP) is expected to start at center for the Packers Week 9 against the Colts.

Linsley is still technically on the PUP list, but he has been practicing with the team for the last three weeks. He should be activated soon and is expected to fill in for injured starter J.C. Tretter (knee). Linsley could be a little rusty, but he has held his own in 29 starts the last two seasons. He will not be a big downgrade from Tretter.

Packers C Corey Linsley (hamstring, PUP) has resumed practicing.

The Packers now have 21 days to activate their pivot. He won't return for Thursday's game against the Bears, but Week 8 is at least a theoretical possibility. Week 9 is more likely.

Packers placed C Corey Linsley (hamstring) on the reserve/PUP.

Linsley has reportedly torn his hamstring twice this year. The PUP will cost him at least six games, but he is likely out for the season.

Packers C Corey Linsley tore his hamstring twice this offseason, once in April and a second time in July, and is expected to open the season on reserve/PUP.

Linsley suffered the first tear while working out on his own after the Packers' first set of OTAs. He thought the injury had healed and began working out again in July, only to tear it again. Linsley is currently on active/PUP, but figures to open the year there and miss the first six weeks of the season. The 2014 fifth-rounder has started 33 games through two seasons and received really strong marks from Pro Football Focus for his run and pass blocking. J.C. Tretter will take over.

Packers C Corey Linsley exited Week 11 with an ankle injury.

Linsley suffered the injury on the first drive of the game. He had the ankle taped on the sideline and kept his helmet with him, but J.C. Tretter opened the second drive at center. Linsley is officially questionable to return.

The Packers are likely to keep rookie Corey Linsley at center even when J.C. Tretter (knee) returns to action.

Tretter is eligible to practice Monday, and can return in Week 10. He may not have a job when he gets back. A top-ten center per Pro Football Focus through his first five NFL starts, Linsley has earned a lot of respect from coach Mike McCarthy. "I will say this: If things keep going the way they're going, I think we’ll look back on this start as probably one of the most impressive situations that a young player has stepped up and performed in my time here," McCarthy said. "And we've had a lot of guys step up."

Packers signed No. 161 overall pick C Corey Linsley to a four-year contract.

An All-Big 10 selection as a senior, Linsley (6-foot-3, 296 pounds) showed impressive athleticism at his Pro Day, clocking a 5.03 40-yard dash to go along with an 8-foot-11 broad jump and 27-inch vertical. Although he's under-sized, Linsley could develop into a quality zone-scheme center. He needs to bulk up.

Packers selected Ohio State C Corey Linsley with the No. 161 overall pick in the NFL draft.

Linsley (6-foot-2 5/8, 296) made 26 starts for the Buckeyes, earning first-team All-Big Ten honors as a senior, blocking for Carlos Hyde. Showing plus athleticism, he ran 5.03 at OSU's Pro Day, with an 8-foot-11 broad jump and 27-inch vertical. An undersized overachiever with "heavy hands," Linsley could develop into a quality zone-scheme center once he gets stronger and exceeds 300 pounds. He'll challenge J.C. Tretter for snaps as a rookie, though Tretter is the pretty clear favorite to start.
