Vikings signed sixth-round CB Kendall James to a four-year contract.
A second-team D-IAA All-American as a senior, James ran 4.44 at the Combine with a 39-inch vertical. His size and strength limitations make him best suited as a slot corner. James will compete with sixth- and seventh-round picks Antone Exum and Jabari Price for one or two roster spots. Fri, May 16, 2014 02:27:00 PM

Vikings selected Maine CB Kendall James with the No. 184 overall pick in the 2014 NFL draft.

James (5-foot-10 1/2, 180) was a second-team D-IAA All-American as a senior and finished his career with eight interceptions across 36 starts. A quick-twitch athlete, James ran 4.44 at the Combine with a 39-inch vertical. Due to short arms (29 1/2") and a lack of bulk, James may be ticketed for slot corner only in the pros. He does have experience as a special teams gunner.
