ESPN Redskins reporter John Keim suggests seventh-round TE Ted Bolser is a roster long shot.
Per Keim, Bolser has proven to be "not much of a blocker," and his "hands were too inconsistent" during non-contact spring practices. Bolser is a catch-first tight end who finished his college career as Indiana's all-time leader in catches, yards, and touchdowns by a tight end. He's likely ticketed for the practice squad. Redskins signed seventh-round TE Ted Bolser to a four-year contract.

Bolser is a catch-first tight end who doesn't possess great athleticism. He ran a 4.75 forty and posted a weak 31-inch vertical at Indiana's Pro Day. Bolser will try to make it as one of Jordan Reed's backups and play special teams.

Redskins selected Indiana TE Ted Bolser with the No. 217 overall pick in the 2014 NFL draft.

Bolser (6-foot-5 1/2, 257) graduated as IU's all-time leader in receptions (117), yards (1,337) and touchdowns (15) by a tight end. He'll turn 24 midway through his rookie year. Bolser repped 225 pounds 19 times at the Hoosiers' Pro Day, adding a 31-inch vertical and 4.75 forty. A poor blocker and lumbering route runner, Bolser was a solid college tight end who will struggle to make an NFL impact.
