Bengals WR James Wright secured 3-of-5 targets for 59 yards in Cincinnati's Week 13 win over the Bucs.
A seventh-round pick out of LSU, Wright was stuck behind Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham in college. The Bengals drafted him with special teams in mind, but he's quickly moved ahead of Brandon Tate, Dane Sanzenbacher, and Greg Little as the team's No. 3 receiver. Wright is worth monitoring in Dynasty leagues. His 59 receiving yards led the Bengals in Sunday's victory. Sun, Nov 30, 2014 05:51:00 PM

Bengals rookie WR James Wright suffered a concussion in Sunday night's third preseason game.

He had to be stretchered off the field. This could lead to Cincinnati stashing Wright on injured reserve for his rookie season, as the injury appeared quite serious. Wright was drafted by the Bengals to play on special teams.

The Bengals have been impressed with seventh-round WR James Wright on offense.

It's notable because Wright was a strict special teamer at LSU. "(I) talked to him and said, 'Look, I know what you can do on special teams, now you've got to play wide receiver,'" sid WRs coach James Urban. "He's embraced it. ... We'll see once we get the pads on, but it's been encouraging." Despite Urban's talk, Wright's 53-man roster odds live and die with his special-teams prowess.

Bengals signed seventh-round WR James Wright to a four-year contract.

Wright was a pure special teams player as a senior at LSU after catching just 18 passes the year before. He won't play on offense in Cincinnati and will have to display otherworldly kick-covering attributes to stick on the 53-man roster.

Bengals selected LSU WR James Wright with the No. 239 overall pick in the 2014 draft.

Wright (6-foot-1, 201) posted 18 catches for 242 yards as a junior. As a senior, he had zero receptions as he was banished to a strict special teams role while watching Odell Beckham and Jarvis Landry improve their draft stock. Barring an outstanding kick and punt coverage showing on the practice field in camp, Wright will be an extreme longshot to crack the Bengals' final roster.
