Impending free agent K Matt Bryant said the Falcons have said they want to re-sign him.

"From my understanding, there have been several calls that have said we're going to get something done," Bryant said. "So, wanting me back, that's what they've told my agent." Bryant will turn 43 in May, but he did not show any signs of slowing down last season, hitting 87 percent of his kicks including 8-of-9 from 50 yards or more. Bryant is likely looking for north of $3 million a year.

Matt Bryant plans to play 2-3 more years.

Bryant is entering his age-43 season but didn’t show much of a drop off last year, making 34-of-39 field goals. An impending free agent, the Falcons are expected to extend Bryant this offseason.

The Falcons plan to extend Matt Bryant this offseason.

Bryant took a step back from 2016 but was still one of the better kickers in the league last year, converting 34-of-39 field goals and making every extra point. The Falcons should bring him back despite Bryant entering his age-43 season. Bryant has been with Atlanta since 2009.

Matt Bryant (questionable, back) is expected to play Week 6 against the Dolphins.

Bryant was hampered by a back injury throughout the week but returned to a limited practice on Friday. The Falcons didn't make a roster move to add a kicker, so it looks like he'll be good to go on Sunday. The 42-year-old has yet to miss a field goal in 2017.

Matt Bryant (back) is questionable for Week 6 against the Dolphins.

Bryant was back at practice Friday after sitting out Wednesday and Thursday. He's dealing with a minor back issue but should be ready to go Sunday against Miami. The 42-year-old is a perfect 9-for-9 on field goal attempts this season. He's also made all of his extra points (11-for-11).

Matt Bryant (back) didn't practice on Wednesday.

He seemed fine before the bye week, so it's possible Wednesday was just a maintenance day for the 42-year-old. Bryant has converted all nine field goal attempts this year including two from 50-plus yards.

Falcons K Matt Bryant suffered a quad injury in Wednesday's practice.

Atlanta signed Shayne Graham on Thursday, indicating they have some concern about Bryant's availability. Bryant has not been as reliable a fantasy option this season, and this injury just adds further questions. There are better options available. Jason Myers has a great matchup and is available in almost every league.

Falcons re-signed K Matt Bryant to a three-year, $8.5 million contract.

Bryant, 39, was set to become a free agent in March. He remained one of the best kickers in the league last year, converting 29-of-32 field-goal attempts (90.6 percent). As he kicks in a dome on an above-average offense, Bryant should maintain fantasy appeal throughout the life of his contract.
