Broncos DE Zach Kerr suffered a bruised knee in the third preseason game.

The injury is expected to sideline him a couple weeks and could keep him out Week 1. It is another blow to a defensive line which will be without Billy Winn (knee) all year and has two more linemen, Derek Wolfe (ankle sprain) and Jared Crick (back), in a race to get back before the season opener. In better news, NT Kyle Peko (foot) is off the PUP.

The Indianapolis Star reports the Colts are not expected to tender a contract to restricted free agent NT Zach Kerr.

A 2014 UDFA, Kerr has been a rotational lineman the past three seasons. He's a bit of a 'tweener without a position. Kerr played 317 sub-par snaps in 2016.

Colts signed Delaware DT Zach Kerr.

Kerr (6-foot-1 1/8, 326) spent two seasons at Maryland before transferring to Delaware when longtime Terps coach Ralph Friedgen was fired. He started each of his years with the Blue Hens, totaling 10 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles. A space eater with impressive athleticism for his size, Kerr ran a 5.08 forty at the Combine, with a 28 1/2-inch vertical and 28 reps on the bench. Kerr is gifted enough to play a variety of interior D-Line roles. This was a very nice signing by Colts GM Ryan Grigson.
