Redskins agreed to terms with FS Ryan Clark, formerly of the Steelers, on a one-year contract.
Clark, 34, visited the Redskins the opening week of free agency but reportedly had too high an asking price at the time. He predictably didn't have much of a market. Clark can still be serviceable at deep safety and has three consecutive 100-tackle seasons but isn't a game changer. He'll try and help shore up the back end of a defense that gave up far too many big plays in 2013. Mar 31 - 6:12 PM

Free agent FS Ryan Clark visited the Seattle Seahawks but left without a contract.

Clark's free agency odyssey continues. The 34-year-old is trying to milk every dollar he can out of likely his final contract, but he has yet to find any suitors despite interest from the Redskins, Jets and now Seahawks. Clark will eventually have to settle for something close to the veteran minimum.

Free agent FS Ryan Clark says he's generating interest from the Ravens and Jets, in addition to the Redskins.

"We’ve got some interest from the Ravens, the Jets," claimed Clark. "We’re actually in negotiations with Washington as we speak. So, we’ll see how it goes." 34 years old, Clark is trying to max out what will quite possibly be his final contract as an NFL player. He still seems likeliest to land in Washington.

Free agent S Ryan Clark's asking price reportedly exceeds what the Redskins want to pay.

Even though Clark will turn 35 years old in October, he's apparently seeking more than a veteran minimum deal. The Redskins are absolutely starved for safety help, but not even Dan Snyder is crazy enough to succumb to Clark's demands.

The Charlotte Observer reports the Panthers have "talked to" free agent S Ryan Clark.

Clark has made noise about potentially signing with the Redskins, but it doesn't sound like a deal is imminent. The Panthers are searching for a replacement for Mike Mitchell, who's taking Clark's spot in Pittsburgh. Clark struggled in 2013.

Free agent S Ryan Clark says he will visit with the Redskins.

The Redskins were desperate for safety help in free agency, yet they still watched as eight of our top-10 safeties signed deals. Clark would have been a nice add about eight years ago, but he's 35 years old now and had been flirting with retirement. The Redskins need to aim higher as they try to repair their broken secondary. Clark did spend two seasons with the Skins from 2004-05.

Free agent FS Ryan Clark plans to keep playing football in 2014.

Clark, 34, stated last June that he would consider retirement after the season, but he's had a change of heart. "I hope to continue playing (in Pittsburgh), but if not, there will be no hard feelings," said Clark. "I have nothing but great memories." Clark started all 16 games in 2013, registering a career-high 104 tackles with four pass breakups and two interceptions.

The Steelers have not approached contract-year FS Ryan Clark about an extension.

It's not surprising because the Steelers traded up to draft Clark's heir apparent in Shamarko Thomas. Clark wants to finish his career in Pittsburgh, but may not have that option. Thomas is much cheaper and Clark turns 34 in October.

FS Ryan Clark hopes to remain with the Steelers beyond 2013.

Going on 34, Clark is headed into the final year of his contract. The Steelers used the No. 111 pick on S Shamarko Thomas, whom they view as Clark's apprentice. Clark is worried about what it might mean for his career if the Steelers let him walk in 2014. "This has always been a smart organization about letting guys go when they feel like they don't have what's left to be here," Clark said. "So we'll see. But I want to finish my career here. I've found a home here."

Steelers FS Ryan Clark passed his concussion exams and "appears ready to play" on Sunday against the Ravens.

Clark suffered his second concussion in three games on Monday night against the Chiefs, but he put in a full practice on Thursday after being limited on Wednesday. The 33-year-old has had an excellent season, and with Troy Polamalu (calf) missing much of the year, Clark has been a fixture on the back end.

Steelers FS Ryan Clark sustained his second concussion in three weeks Monday night.

Coach Mike Tomlin said Clark "appears to be fine," but his status is in doubt on a short week. SS Troy Polamalu (calf) is expected to miss at least one more game, leaving the Steelers short-handed at safety versus the Ravens in Week 11.

Steelers FS Ryan Clark (concussion) has been cleared for practice.

"I wasn't knocked out," said Clark. "I got dinged. I'd venture to say that I've been in that situation before and not taken out of the game or not told anybody. ... I feel good." Clark will have to pass another test on Friday to gain clearance for Sunday's game versus the Giants.

Steelers FS Ryan Clark won't play against the Broncos Sunday due to his sickle cell trait.

Clark didn't play in last year's Wild Card game in Denver, so we knew he wouldn't play in Week 1 this year. Ryan Mundy, who had five tackles and two forced fumbles in that playoff game, figures to draw the start once again.

The Steelers will hold FS Ryan Clark out of the Wild Card round due to his sickle cell trait.

Clark would play if Pittsburgh's first-round playoff game were held anywhere other than the Denver thin air. Ryan Mundy figures to draw the start. The Steelers are facing a Broncos team that struggled mightily down the stretch, so they may feel they can win without pushing Clark to play. Clark, 32, finished the regular season with a career-high 100 tackles and an interception.
