Bennie Fowler caught 2-of-6 targets for 35 yards in the Broncos' Week 8 loss to the Chiefs.
He dropped at least two passes, and one should have been a touchdown. Fowler was again playing heavy snaps in the absence of Emmanuel Sanders (ankle), but Sanders thankfully will be back Week 9 against the Eagles, again making Fowler useless in fantasy. He can be cut in 12-team leagues. Oct 31 - 12:12 AM

Date:

Bennie Fowler hauled in all five of his targets for 45 yards in the Broncos' Week 7 loss to the Chargers.

Filling in for Emmanuel Sanders, Fowler finished third on the team in targets and second in receiving. Unfortunately, the passing game could not do much of anything on Sunday, and the work did not result in a great fantasy day. He should find more success next week against the Chiefs if Sanders remains out, although he is unlikely to be more than a WR3/FLEX.
Oct 22 - 8:29 PM

Bennie Fowler is expected to slide in as the Broncos' No. 2 receiver with Emmanuel Sanders (ankle) out for Week 7 against the Chargers.

Fowler caught a pair of touchdowns in a fluky Week 1 against the Chargers but has been pretty nonexistent since then despite being the Broncos' No. 3 receiver. Fowler will likely move into the slot in three-wide sets when Jordan Taylor enters the game. At 6'1/212, Fowler has good size and saw eight targets last week, turning them into a 3-21 line. He's on the WR3/4 map for Week 7.

Bennie Fowler caught 3-of-8 targets for 21 yards in Week 6 against the Giants.

It was a rough game for Fowler, but he led the Broncos in snaps with Emmanuel Sanders sidelined. He's going to play in two-wide sets and the slot in subpackages moving forward-- potentially giving him a big pass game role. Fowler's upside is limited with Trevor Siemian, but he's a Week 7 waiver target.
Oct 16 - 12:15 AM

Broncos WR Bennie Fowler caught 4-of-7 targets for 55 yards in Week 3 against Buffalo.

Fowler benefitted from a pass-heavy gamescript, with Trevor Siemian throwing 40 times. He's had a bigger role than expected, but has a low-upside as the No. 3 option behind Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders. Fowler had two touchdowns in the season opener and nearly scored before leaving Week 2 with a concussion. He's on the WR5 radar in deeper redraft leagues.
Sep 24 - 5:34 PM

Broncos WR Bennie Fowler has cleared the concussion protocol.

He's still listed as questionable, but this puts him on track to play against Buffalo. Fowler caught a pair of touchdowns in the season opener and had three targets before exiting last week. He'll remain in the slot behind Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders if active for Week 3.
Sep 23 - 2:17 PM

Bennie Fowler (concussion) is not practicing Wednesday.

Fowler caught one pass for eight yards on three targets before leaving with a concussion. Fowler caught a pair of touchdowns in the opener and apparently has solidified the role of No. 3 receiver in Denver.
Sep 20 - 2:31 PM

Bennie Fowler caught 3-of-4 targets for 21 yards and two touchdowns in a win over the Chargers in Week 1.

And 2017 has its version of Kevin Ogletree. Fowler matched his career total for TDs with Trevor Siemian scrambling to find him for a five-yard score, and as the primary option up the seam for a six-yard strike for his second TD. The Michigan State product operated out of the slot and was used mostly in pass situations, and it was somewhat interesting that he was used on 38 of 69 snaps on offense while the Broncos held a lead for most of the game. Still, the Broncos passing attack isn't potent enough to have three valuable wide receivers, so he's not worth adding in most leagues.

Cameron Wolfe of the Denver Post left Bennie Fowler off his projection for the Broncos' 53-man roster.

He also left off Marlon Brown. Demaryius Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders, Carlos Henderson and Isaiah McKenzie are all locks, leaving four players—Fowler, Brown, Cody Latimer and Jordan Taylor—to battle for the last two spots at wide receiver. Wolfe believes Latimer will make the team because of his special teams prowess while Taylor's size gives him the edge over Fowler and Brown.

Broncos WR Bennie Fowler (elbow) has been ruled out for Thursday's Week 1 opener against the Panthers.

He's still recovering from a broken elbow. Cody Latimer, Jordan Taylor, and Jordan Norwood will be the Nos. 3-5 receivers and fight for limited targets.

Broncos WR Bennie Fowler (elbow) did not practice Sunday.

Fowler suffered a broken elbow in mid-August. He has been wearing a brace on the elbow, but it does not provide enough protection to play. "The brace can protect against the hit, but it doesn’t really protect against how you land," Fowler said. "I’d rather miss the first game and be good for the rest of the season than rush back and then missed several games." Even though he will likely miss Week 1, it sounds like Fowler will be back early in the year.

Broncos WR Bennie Fowler has a "small fracture" in his elbow.

Fowler suffered the injury covering a punt in the preseason opener, but he did not know he was hurt until the next morning. He is expected to miss a few weeks. The frontrunner for the No. 3 job, Fowler's injury could open up an opportunity for perennial disappointment Cody Latimer. It sounds like Fowler should be ready for Week 1.
