Former NHL player/current minor league-level forward Mark Bell had a big game for Iserlohn, but Nurnberg still won 7-6 on Sunday.
Bell had two goals and two assists in the game. It's unlikely that the big forward will ever get a huge shot to make it again, but you never know. One injury replacement could give him another chance since he at least has plenty of experience. Sun, Nov 25, 2012 03:16:00 PM

Mark Bell has been promoted by the Anaheim Ducks.

Bell has 15 points and 37 penalty minutes in 34 games this season. He has 448 career NHL games under his belt, but has played in just three NHL contests over the last four seasons.

Mark Bell was in the lineup against Ottawa Saturday afternoon.

It was Bell's first NHL game in four years. Bell's promising career as a power forward went off track after he was convicted for an alcohol-related crime in 2006. He has toiled in the minors and in Europe without much success ever since. However, this season he has played well in Syracuseof the AHL and the Ducks rewarded him with a callup this week. Bell logged only 4:45 of ice time in six shifts against the Senators so he really doesn't have any fantasy value. But it is a nice redemption story none the less.

Mark Bell has been recalled by Anaheim.

He has registered 13 points, 33 penalty minutes and a minus-11 rating in 32 games with the Ducks' AHL affiliate in Syracuse this campaign. Bell hasn't played in the NHL since 2007-08 when he was a member of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Mark Bell is still in the running for a fourth line spot on the Ducks.

It would be quite the comeback if he could break camp with Anaheim as he has been playing in Switzerland the last two seasons and had many failed attempts to resume his NHL career. Bell's prospects nosedived due to personal problems arising out of a drunken driving charge and accident in 2006. Bell was once an emerging power forward with plenty of promise. We don't know how much, if any of that player, is left but we wish him luck in his journey to play again in the NHL.

Mark Bell has signed a one-year contract with the Anaheim Ducks.

Bell has spent the last two seasons playing hockey for Kloten of the Swiss-A league. He isn't expected to have any fantasy value in 2011-12.

The Philadelphia Flyers released Mark Bell on Monday.

Bell was participating in the Flyers' camp on a tryout basis. He was trying to turn his career around, but Philadelphia already had 49 of the maximum 50 players signed to one or two-way contracts. Bell might sign with another club, but he won't have any fantasy value this season.

Mark Bell has been participating in the Philadelphia Flyers camp on a tryout basis.

Bell has fallen from grace after scoring 25 goals and 48 points in 82 games with the Chicago Blackhawks in 2005-06. However, he was involved in a drunken driving incident in 2006 that resulted in a 15-game suspension and his entry into the NHL's substance-abuse program. His career has taken a nose dive since then and he didn't even play in the NHL last season. He's trying to put all that behind him and rebound, but he has an uphill battle ahead of him. The Flyers already have 49 players under one or two-way contracts and the maximum is 50. We wish him the best of luck but he doesn't have any fantasy value at this time.

The New York Rangers have sent Mark Bell to the minors.

Bell was grabbed off waivers from Toronto last week. His demotion could allow the Rangers to pick up Sean Avery off of re-entry waivers from the Dallas Stars. Stay tuned.

Mark Bell participated in the Rangers' shooting drills on Friday.

Bell has been in limbo ever since being claimed off of re-entry waivers by the Rangers from the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Rangers might still try to place Bell on waivers again with the intention of sending him down to the AHL. If the Rangers end up claiming Sean Avery when the Dallas Stars put him on re-entry waivers, then Bell will could end up back in the minors. "I try not to think about all that stuff," said Bell, the eighth overall pick in the 1998 draft and in the final year of a three-year deal worth $6.5 million — he'd count approximately $305,000 against the Rangers' cap for the rest of the season. "I'm just kind of looking at myself and what I can do to make the most of it."

The Rangers still hasn't made their intentions known with regards to Mark Bell.

Bell was claimed off re-entry waivers from the Maple Leafs on Wednesday. However, Bell still hasn't played for the Rangers and the team might end up trying to send him to the minors. If they do, Bell will once again be placed on waivers.

Mark Bell was claimed off re-entry waivers by the New York Rangers Wednesday afternoon.

The 28-year-old, had played for the Toronto Marlies of the AHL this season after the Maple Leafs sent him to the minors at the end of training camp. Bell didn't play in New York's 2-1 shootout loss to the Leafs on Wednesday night. "I'm thrilled for Mark Bell, because this kid's been through a lot," Leafs general manager Brian Burke said. "He was in the minors on a one-way contract. He worked his butt off, he never complained and did a good job for us with the Marlies." He won't have any fantasy value for the foreseeable future.

Mark Bell has been placed on waivers by Toronto.

He was on the bubble to make the team, so this does not come as a surprise. If he goes unclaimed, he will begin the year in the AHL.
