However, it is unclear if he will dress against Boston Thursday night. Whether he plays or not, his presence in the lineup won't impact your fantasy plans.

Tom Kostopoulos was injured in his fight with Islanders forward Matt Martin on Monday night.

He was decked by a right hand to the chin at the 11:22 mark of the first period. Kostopoulos had to be helped off the ice, but coach Pete DeBoer said after the contest that the New Jersey winger was "going to be all right." However, it's unclear if that means he'll be ready for Thursday's game against Boston.

Tom Kostopoulous made his Devils debut Thursday night.

He skated on a line with Ryan Carter and Stephen Gionta, playing 10:33. "It felt pretty good. All the guys talked to me and the coaches walked me through the system," Kostopoulos said. "Their goalie had a helluva game, but the guys kept getting pucks at him. The team didn't give up when we got down."

Mar 5 - 11:51 AM

Tom Kostopoulos has signed an AHL tryout agreement with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

He played in 81 games with the Calgary Flames last year, but long before that he was originally selected in the seventh round of the 1999 draft by the Pittsburgh Penguins. Kostopoulos is Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's all-time leader in games played (318), goals (97), assists (149), points (246) and in playoff scoring with 38 points in 51 games. He should receive a nice welcome back from the team and their fans.

Tom Kostopoulos will play in his 600th game on Tuesday.

That might sound like a milestone most players would ignore, but actually it has some special meaning for them. In the current CBA, players are allowed to request their own room during road games once they have 600 games under their belt. "I’ve been on (team services manager) Sean O’Brien’s back for the last week, telling him I’m almost there," said Kostopoulos, chuckling. "As much as I like Matt Stajan and Tim Jackman, my roommates, I think I’m going to take (the single room)." His soon-to-be former roommate, Stajan, is almost at the 600 mark too.

Tom Kostopoulos is hoping the Flames play a physical game against Anaheim on Wednesday.

"They’re playoff games right now. Physical games and everyone has to bring it," Kostopoulos said. This game couldn't be much more important for Calgary. They're three points out of eighth place Chicago Blackhawks and four points behind the seventh place Anaheim Ducks. Winning would put them just one point shy of a playoff spot while losing would put everyone other than Chicago out of their reach. Even catching Chicago would be a nearly impossible task at that point. They would remain three points behind despite having played in two more games than Chicago.

Tom Kostopoulos scored two goals and added an assist in the Flames' 5-4 overtime loss to the Ducks on Sunday.

With only nine points in 50 games entering Sunday, nobody expected a three point effort out of him so he likely wasn't in many fantasy lineups. Jarome Iginla and Rene Bourque also lit the lamp in the losing effort.

Tom Kostopoulos was reinstated from his suspension on Saturday January 22.

The forward who celebrates his 32nd birthday on Monday, wasted no time in returning from a six-game suspension for his hit to the jaw of Detroit's Brad Stuart as he put Kevin Bieksa out of the game during a fight as he nailed him in the eye forcing Bieksa to leave for the remainder of the game. Kostopoulos picked up a major in the fight and was plus-one in 7:17 minutes of action. He has four goals and eight points with 59 penalty minutes in 43 games this season.
