According to a Swedish website, pending unrestricted free agent Samuel Pahlsson is reportedly drawing interest from Modo's GM and former Vancouver Canucks captain Markus Naslund.

He recorded four goals and 17 points in 80 games this past season between Columbus and Vancouver. "At present, there is not much to say about my future," said Pahlsson in the translated article. "My family and I are thinking of going home but there is nothing that is clear. There are many pros and cons and it is a big decision to make. My wife and I have been living [in North America] for most of our adult lives. Meanwhile, we have family and friends back home in Sweden."

Do not expect to see Samuel Pahlsson back in a Vancouver uniform next season.

It was not the return everyone expected when the Blue Jackets dealt the checking center to the Canucks at the trade deadline. The Canucks were expected to challenge for the Stanley Cup and their first round knockout by the Kings have forced the team to re-evaluate. Look for Pahlsson to catch on elsewhere if the 34-year-old wants to play another season.

The Vancouver Canucks have acquired Samuel Pahlsson from the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for two fourth-round picks in the 2012 Draft.

Pahlsson is a solid checking center who should fit in nicely in Vancouver's bottom-six. The depth center won a Stanley Cup in 2007 with the Anaheim Ducks. The 34-year-old has two goals and nine assists on the year and has no fantasy appeal. Vancouver had two fourth-round picks in the draft, the second one from the New York Islanders.

Samuel Pahlsson scored a goal and added an assist in the Blue Jackets' 4-2 win over Minnesota Thursday night.

Pahlsson looked to be in midseason form playing alongside Ethan Moreau and Derek Dorsett, assisting on Moreau's goal to tie the game at two, before scoring the eventual game-winner. Scoring was an area the Blue Jackets' want to improve on this year, and if they can get a more consistent contribution from their middle two lines, it will go a long way towards achieving their goal of getting back to the playoffs. Steve Mason was solid in goal for Columbus, turning aside 24 of 26 shots for the win, while Minnesota netminder Niklas Backstrom allowed four goals on 27 shots. Andrew Brunette registered two assists to lead the Wild forwards.
