Jordan Leopold realizes his NHL career might be over.
The 12-year NHL veteran spent time with the Blues, Blue Jackets and Wild last season. "I'm not counting on hockey," said Leopold, 35. "Given this stage of my career, the opportunity would probably come in October, November or December if a defenseman were to get hurt long term." He said he has "at peace if it doesn’t work out." Leopold would finish his career with 695 games, 214 points and 293 penalty minutes. Sep 13 - 9:33 AM

The free agent market has been "pretty quiet" for Jordan Leopold.

"This is the latest I've ever waited to see if I'm playing or not. After doing this for 13 years, it's been a great experience. If it doesn't end up working out, then it doesn't work out. I can't say I haven't been there or done that. I've seen it all," Leopold said. He would like to continue his career though if there's interest in him. He doesn't expect the market to pick up until August.

Jordan Leopold isn't likely to re-sign with the Minnesota Wild.

The Wild re-signed Nate Prosser on Wednesday and adding Leopold on top of that would create something of a logjam. Leopold had a goal and four points in 43 contests with St. Louis, Columbus and Minnesota last season.
Jul 2 - 10:38 AM

Jordan Leopold wants to re-sign with Minnesota, but he may have to wait.

The Wild apparently told him that they would get back to him in a few weeks, as the club has other free agents and cap issues to attend to before getting around to him. However, there is interest on Minnesota's side in bringing Leopold back.
Jun 18 - 5:30 PM

The Minnesota Wild know that they need to be better on home ice if they want to put the St. Louis Blues away in game six.

The Wild were blown out on home ice, 6-1, in game four and they know that that type of effort won't cut it in game six. "We got our butts handed to us in Game 4 here at home," Jordan Leopold said. "Fortunately it was early in the series. It wasn’t a clinching game. It was a good time to have that lesson. For that sake, we’re going to be ready to go."
Apr 26 - 10:57 AM

Jordan Leopold has surpassed expectations since joining the Wild.

"Been really impressed with his game, probably even exceeded expectations of what we thought we were going to get from him," said coach Mike Yeo. "Wasn't sure where he was going to be at, at this point in his career, but ... we've been really pleased with his game." Leopold started the season in St. Louis, but he was hard pressed for playing time. He also became the odd-man out in Columbus before being traded home to Minnesota. The 34-year-old defender doesn't have any fantasy value.
Apr 21 - 10:26 AM

Jordan Leopold will pair with Christian Folin in Tuesday night's Wild debut against the Senators.

Through 25 games this season, seven with Columbus, the veteran defender Leopold has accumulated just three points, 11 PIMs, 23 hits, and 31 blocks this season. Unfortunately, he simply doesn't have any fantasy value.
Mar 3 - 8:05 PM

Jordan Leopold was traded to Minnesota on Monday and it probably delighted his daughter and the other members of his family.

Jordyn Leopold wrote a letter that was addressed to the "Minnesota Wild coaches," and she pleaded with the team to trade for her father so that he could be with his family in Minnesota. The team apparently never got the letter, but it was all over the internet on deadline day and was the topic of talk radio and sports shows. Jordan's wife, Jamie, posted it on Facebook back in January and she sent it to KFAN's Paul Allen. Leopold will likely suit up for the Wild on Tuesday after he was acquired from Columbus.
Mar 3 - 11:46 AM

Jordan Leopold has been traded to Minnesota for Justin Falk and a fifth-round draft pick.

Leopold has three points and 31 blocks in 25 games with the Blue Jackets. He will occupy a depth role on the Wild.

Mar 1 - 5:16 PM

Jordan Leopold will be scratched against the New Jersey Devils on Saturday evening.

It's been a trying season for the veteran Leopold whose managed just three points and 11 PIMs in 25 games this season. Unfortunately, he appears to no longer have fantasy value.

Jordan Leopold will pair with James Wisniewski to form Columbus' second unit on Thursday night against Montreal.

Leopold has just three points, and little else to show for his efforts over 24 games this season.
Feb 26 - 7:01 PM

Jordan Leopold will be scratched on Friday night against the Philadelphia Flyers.

The veteran blue liner from Minnesota has just three points, and little else to show for his efforts over 23 games this season. Meaning he no longer has any fantasy value.
Feb 13 - 5:56 PM

Jordan Leopold will be back on defense Monday versus the Los Angeles Kings.

With the injuries mounting up on the Blue Jackets once again, Leopold will be back on the blue line vs. the Kings Monday. He hasn't seen game action since dressing as a forward back on February 3rd but will pair up with Cody Goloubef as the Jackets third defensive pairing. Leopold has a goal and two assists in 22 games played this year and has no fantasy value.
Feb 9 - 5:08 PM

Despite being willing to skate as a forward, it looks like Jordan Leopold won't crack the Columbus Blue Jackets' lineup on Friday.

Other expected scratches including Dalton Prout and Cody Goloubef against the St. Louis Blues.
