Jordan Leopold will be back on defense Monday versus the Los Angeles Kings.

With the injuries mounting up on the Blue Jackets once again, Leopold will be back on the blue line vs. the Kings Monday. He hasn't seen game action since dressing as a forward back on February 3rd but will pair up with Cody Goloubef as the Jackets third defensive pairing. Leopold has a goal and two assists in 22 games played this year and has no fantasy value.

Despite being willing to skate as a forward, it looks like Jordan Leopold won't crack the Columbus Blue Jackets' lineup on Friday.

Other expected scratches including Dalton Prout and Cody Goloubef against the St. Louis Blues.

Feb 6 - 6:31 PM

Jordan Leopold skated on the fourth line during Monday's practice.

Leopold skated in that role on Saturday and might stick with it on Tuesday. Matt Calvert, who Leopold replaced, is still dealing with an illness.
Feb 3 - 8:46 AM

Jordan Leopold doesn't have a problem serving as a forward when asked.

That's what happened on Saturday, which is how he got into the lineup after spending 18 straight contests in the press box. "I've had a few shifts (at forward) here and there for guys in the middle of games, but never a complete game," Leopold said, "I've had the great fortune to play a lot of hockey games in my career, and I think I understand the responsibilities of that position. So that's the approach I took with it." Blue Jackets coach Todd Richards might use Leopold on the fourth line again at some point in the future, but you would have to be in a very deep league to justify owning Leopold regardless.
Feb 2 - 9:04 AM

Jordan Leopold played left wing on Saturday for the first time in his NHL career.

Well at least it was the first time in his NHL career that he played up front as he was a late addition to the lineup for the ailing Matt Calvert. Leopold played 8:27 minutes with a couple of hits on the fourth line. He has only three points in 21 games this season.
Feb 1 - 7:19 AM

Jordan Leopold will see his first game since Dec. 13th, 2014 on Saturday night against Tampa Bay. A span of 17 games.

With Matt Calvert too sick to play tonight, Coach Richards will go with seven defensemen instead. Leopold is that seventh d-man. In 20 games this season, 13 with Columbus, the veteran defender has three points, 11 PIMs, 16 hits, and 28 blocks.
Jan 31 - 7:39 PM

Jordan Leopold, Cody Goloubef and Jack Skille will all be healthy scratches against Florida on Thursday.

The Blue Jackets acquired Leopold in a trade earlier this season. The 34-year-old veteran had a 35 point season with the Sabres back in 2010-11, but he won't come close to producing numbers like that again. Both Skille and Goloubef have no fantasy relevance.

Jan 29 - 7:38 PM

Jordan Leopold and Cody Goloubef will be healthy scratches Monday against the Minnesota Wild.

The two defensemen will be scratched yet again by the Blue Jackets in Monday's contest with the Wild. Leopold has a goal and two helpers in 20 games played while Goloubef has two assists in seven games in the 2014-2015 season. Neither have any fantasy value.

Jan 14 - 8:28 PM

Jordan Leopold has been a healthy scratch for 11 straight games.

Leopold has played in 20 games for Columbus this season but right now he finds himself in the press box watching the action. Just an FYI in case you were wondering what happened to him.
Jan 11 - 8:28 AM

Jordan Leopold, Cody Goloubef, and Sean Collins will once again be healthy scratches Wednesday night against the Minnesota Wild.

Considering all three players have had trouble cracking the Blue Jackets' lineup, it's tough to recommend any of them for even the deepest of pools. But if the door opens up for Collins, be ready to scoop him up. He has 19 points in 28 games with AHL Springfield this season.

Jordan Leopold, Cody Goloubef, and Sean Collins will once again be healthy scratches Saturday night against the Boston Bruins.

The Blue Jackets are going with the same lineup they used in their last game on Monday December 22nd. In 39 combined games between the three players, they have recorded just one goal and three assists total, with Leopold having the goal and two of the three assists. None of these guys are fantasy worthy right now.

Jordan Leopold, Cody Goloubef, and Sean Collins will all be healthy scratches Monday night against the Predators.

Leopold has played in 20 games for the Blue Jackets this season but since the team is getting healthier, he is finding himself in the press box more and more, missing the past three games. Goloubef and Collins have combined to play five games for the Jackets this year, without scoring a point.
