Andrew Raycroft has signed on to play with Italian team Milano Rossoblu next season.
He started the 2011-12 campaign with the Dallas Stars, but was sent down the minors after losing his backup job to Richard Bachman. Raycroft appeared in just 10 NHL games, while posting a 2-8-0 record with a 3.51 goals-against average and .897 save percentage before being placed on waivers and demoted. Andrew Raycroft was placed on waivers Wednesday.

If he clears he will head down to the AHL. Number one netminder Kari Lehtonen is ready to return from a groin injury and Raycroft was beaten out by Richard Bachman for the team's backup role in his absence.

Andrew Raycroft has been informed by the Dallas Stars that he will be placed on waivers Wednesday.

The move would pave the way for Kari Lehtonen's return to the lineup on Thursday night versus the Columbus Blue Jackets. Richard Bachman has supplanted Raycroft as Lehtonen's backup due to his solid play since coming up from the minors. Raycroft has posted a 2-8-0 record with an .898 save percentage and a 3.52 GAA in 10 appearances this season.

Andrew Raycroft might be waived, with the intention of sending him to the minors, when Kari Lehtonen is ready to return from a groin injury.

The Stars will have to make a decision soon on whether to retain Raycroft or Richard Bachman as Lehtonen's backup. "We're not going to carry three," coach Glen Gulutzan said referring to his goaltenders. "There's going to be a decision made, but until Lehts is a fully capable guy, we haven't discussed time frame."

Andrew Raycroft could get the start in goal for Dallas on Friday.

Richard Bachman has started the last six games for the Stars but coach Glen Gulutzan will decide after the morning skate as to who is his starter Friday. With Kari Lehtonen due to return next week if there are no setbacks, this could be Raycroft's last chance in a while.

Andrew Raycroft was battered for five goals on 25 shots, then pulled for the third period, in the Dallas Stars' 5-2 loss to the San Jose Sharks on Thursday night.

When Kari Lehtonen went down, this was what we were worried about, as his replacement has given up 10 goals in his last two starts. His record dropped to 2-7-1 and he now has a 3.53 goals-against average and .897 save percentage on the season -- not exactly numbers indicative of a fantasy-relevant goalie at this point. There's a reason why he's only started 250 games in a career that began in 2000. Richard Bachman set aside 11 shots in the third period, and it's fair to guess that he could get the call against the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday.

Andrew Raycroft had a rough night in net, allowing five goals in the Dallas Stars' 5-4 loss to the New York Islanders on Saturday.

The de facto No. 1 goalie only made 22 saves, but more notably couldn't find a way to keep the puck out of the net when Matt Moulson (four goals) shot it. With Lehtonen down, the Stars will need Raycroft to be better to survive. Richard Bachman could get his first start between the pipes when Dallas faces San Jose on Dec. 8.

Look for Andrew Raycroft to get the start in goal for Dallas on Saturday.

Raycroft will make his third straight start in place of the injured Kari Lehtonen. Richard Bachman is Raycroft's backup at this time and with Lehtonen expected to miss at least three more weeks, Bachman should get the net shortly.

With the Dallas Stars, Andrew Raycroft is 1-8-1 when playing on the second night of back-to-back contests and 9-2-0 when playing on the first night.

As the backup goaltender, Raycroft would often be asked to play on the second night, but with Kari Lehtonen sidelined, the opposite is true. Raycroft has allowed just three goals in two games since Lehtonen went down with a groin injury. We expect Raycroft to also have some ugly starts before Lehtonen returns, but he should average out to be a decent substitute for the Stars' top goaltender.

Andrew Raycroft kicked away 33 of 35 shots as the Dallas Stars used a late rally to get past the Ottawa Senators 3-2 on Thursday night.

Raycroft carried out a script that will need to be commonplace for the Stars to survive without top netminder Kari Lehtonen. Raycroft now won two consecutive games since becoming the No. 1 guy in net. Dallas allows the most shots per game in the NHL, thus the 31-year-old -- with his rocky resume -- will be prone to his fair share of big nights for the opponent.

Andrew Raycroft stopped 35 of the 36 shots he faced in a 3-1 win over the Colorado Avalanche

Raycroft finally won his first game of the season Monday night and he did it with style. Raycroft turned aside 35 shots, backstopping Dallas to victory. With an injury keeping Kari Lehtonen on the shelf, Raycroft must be sharp for the Stars.

With Kari Lehtonen (groin) out for at least three weeks, Andrew Raycroft has become the Stars de facto starting goaltender.

Raycroft is 0-5-0 with a 3.50 GAA and .899 save percentage. He has a rocky history, but he has been a serviceable backup over the last two seasons. We suspect the Stars will end up missing Lehtonen's services, but Raycroft should end up with at least some decent starts.

After being thrown in to relieve the injured Kari Lehtonen, Andrew Raycroft was saddled with the 3-0 loss against the Phoenix Coyotes, despite making 33 saves.

Lehtonen suffered a knee injury very early in the first period, and Raycroft was sent in for the remaining 54:29 as a result. All things considered, Dallas was not particularly sharp on defense, so Raycroft's outing wasn't that bad. Still, the Stars don't want to peg too much of their hopes on their backup netminder.

Andrew Raycroft will start in Monday's game against Colorado.

The Stars played on Friday and have another game scheduled for Saturday, but they opted not to have Raycroft start in either of those back-to-back games. Raycroft has played in the tail end of the Stars' last four sets of back-to-back games, but Dallas has lost every time. Raycroft has a 3.55 GAA and .894 save percentage and will be searching for his first win of the season on Monday.
