There are reports that Vesa Toskala may be close to agreeing to play in the Swedish Elite League with Färjestad next season.

Toskala was a member of Toronto, Anaheim and Calgary last campaign, while appearing in 32 games. He likely won't be on your fantasy anyway for 2010-11, but we will keep you posted.

Vesa Toskala will not be returning to the Calgary Flames as he wants to be a 1 or 1A goaltender according to GM Darryl Sutter.

Talk about a fantasy! Does Toskala live in Neverneverland? Toskala only has a chance to be a 1 or 1A if he returns to play in Europe or is sent to the AHL. He couldn't grab the top job in Toronto and they had the weakest goaltending in the NHL at the time. Look for the Flames to pick up a backup for Miikka Kiprusoff in the off-season or hand the job to Leland Irving, Matt Keetley or David Shantz who are all in their system at this time.

Flames coach Brent Sutter will probably ask Vesa Toskala to start again before the season is over.

With just 10 games left and every point critical as the Flames try and close the two point gap between them and the eighth place Detroit Red Wings, Flames fans would probably like to see Miikka Kiprusoff start in all their remaining contests. Toskala was solid in his first two starts with Calgary, but he stopped just nine of 12 shots on Sunday before being pulled in a 4-3 loss to the 11th place Minnesota Wild. "We play a lot of games. We play every two days," Sutter said. "The backup goaltender’s gotta start at some point in time. It’s an awful lot to demand on one goaltender to handle that. Vesa’s capable of doing it. Was he as sharp as he would have liked to be tonight? No, he wasn’t. That said, we’re going to need him down the stretch here, and he’s gonna get more opportunities to start."

The Flames pulled Vesa Toskala in their 4-3 loss to the Wild.

Toskala allowed three goals on just 12 shots before being replaced by Miikka Kiprusoff early in the second period. Kiprusoff stopped eight of nine shots he faced, but the game was too far out of reach.

Vesa Toskala stopped 32 of 34 Colorado shots in the Flames' 3-2 win Wednesday night.

The 32-year old Finnish netminder continued to perform well since his arrival in Calgary. Toskala has allowed just four goals in eight periods of play in the Flames' goal, and is undefeated with two wins. Miikka Kiprusoff has been excellent of late, and will remain the starter, however this marks the second team that Toskala and Kiprusoff have pushed one another playing for dating back to their days as teammates in San Jose.

Vesa Toskala will get the nod against the Avalanche for Calgary.

Miikka Kiprusoff has been superb of late for the Flames, so it looks like he is getting the night off. Adjust your lineup accordingly.

Vesa Toskala stopped 27 of 29 shots in a 5-2 win over Minnesota.

It was his first start as a Flame and he looked pretty good out there. He improved his record to 8-12-3.

Vesa Toskala thinks that he will be able to help the Flames as a backup to Miikka Kiprusoff.

Toskala was 7-12-3 with a 3.66 GAA and a .870 save percentage with the Maple Leafs before his trade to Anaheim over a month ago. He never played for the Ducks and is now a member of the Flames. "I feel good. Body feels good. I feel ready to play," Toskala said. The Flames figure to play him in three or four games as the schedule is compressed. If you are thinking of picking him up in your fantasy pool, we would advise you to pick a new sport.

Vesa Toskala has been traded to the Calgary Flames.

Toskala was sent to Anaheim from the Maple Leafs back in January and now he will join some of his ex-Toronto teammates in Calgary that were dealt as a part of the Dion Phaneuf deal. He will backup Miikka Kiprusoff down the stretch after being traded for former Flames' backup Curtis McElhinney.

Vesa Toskala practiced with the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday.

The Ducks acquired Toskala on January 31st, but it took him about a week to settle some immigration issues that were preventing him from joining his new team. Toskala isn't expected to get much playing time in Anaheim.

Vesa Toskala is expected to join his new Anaheim teammates on Sunday.

He appears to have finally settled his immigration issues as he has not been to report to the Ducks since being acquired from Toronto last week. Toskala will serve as Jonas Hiller's backup and he should not be on your fantasy radar.

Vesa Toskala still has not joined the Anaheim Ducks because of immigration problems.

It should be any day now, but that is the reason that Justin Pogge is still with the team. Toskala has no fantasy value and it is doubtful that he will see much, if any, action in the Ducks net barring an injury to Jonas Hiller.

The Ducks acquired Vesa Toskala from the Maple Leafs.

Toskala will ride the pine behind Jonas Hiller the rest of the season. He is 7-12-3 with a horrendous .874 save percentage and 3.66 GAA.

Vesa Toskala had a terrible third period Saturday night as Toronto lost to the Canucks 5-3.

Toskala made 31 saves on 35 shots. He allowed the Canucks top line to take full advantage of him, which ended the Leafs hope of a win. His record now sits at 7-12-3.
