Alexander Auld will start in Saturday's contest.

Auld has a 2-3-2 record, 3.28 GAA, and .883 save percentage in 13 games this season. With Craig Anderson sidelined due to a finger injury, Auld has a chance to lead the Senators during a critical part of the season. However, if Auld falters, then Robin Lehner might end up getting the bulk of the starts during Anderson's absence.

Alex Auld allowed three goals on 27 shots in the Senators' 4-3 win over the Predators Thursday night.

Craig Anderson needed a little break tonight. In fact, Ottawa's number one goalie didn’t play for the first time in 23 games. Auld is a decent backup that knows his role and is content with it. He is a good team guy that understands the role of a back-up goaltender in the NHL. He can be called upon to start a string of games if need be but should not be on anyone’s fantasy radar.

Alexander Auld will be between the pipes for the struggling Ottawa Senators on Thursday night when the club hosts Nashville.

The Senators have lost their past seven games (0-6-1) and Craig Anderson was in goal for the start of all those affairs. It will mark Auld's first start since lasting one period against Calgary back on Dec. 30.

Alexander Auld turned aside 12 of 15 shots in a 4-3 overtime victory Friday night.

Auld was pulled after the first period, so he did not get credited with the win. Craig Anderson replaced Auld and stopped all 17 shots he faced.

Alexander Auld will play between the pipes on Friday.

Auld has a 3.49 GAA and .880 save percentage in nine games this season. He's a better backup goaltender than his numbers imply, but he's still not worth owning in standard leagues.

Alexander Auld stopped 32 of 36 shots in a 6-4 loss Friday.

Although Auld earned his first win of the season, he now has a 3.52 GAA and .878 save percentage. As bad as Craig Anderson has been this season, Auld's numbers are even more unappealing.

Alexander Auld will start in Friday's game against Pittsburgh.

Craig Anderson will be spared a rematch against the Penguins, who scored four goals on eight shots against him in their last meeting. By comparison, Auld has a career 2.06 GAA and .924 save percentage in seven games against Pittsburgh.

Alex Auld was saddled with the loss against the New Jersey Devils Thursday night.

Auld is a decent backup that knows his role and is content with it. He is a good team guy that understands the role of a back-up goaltender in the NHL. He can be called upon to start a string of games if need be but should not be on anyone’s fantasy radar.

Alexander Auld will start for Ottawa on Thursday night against New Jersey.

It will mark his fourth start of the season and his first since Nov. 20 when he dropped a 2-1 overtime decision to Vancouver. Auld owns a 0-3-1 record with an .876 save percentage and a 3.36 goals-against average in 2011-12.

Alexander Auld allowed two goals on 27 shots in an overtime loss to the Canucks Sunday.

Starting in place of the ailing Craig Anderson, Auld played a strong game, but didn't receive the offensive support needed to skate away with a win. He'll be the likely starter if Anderson is forced to miss any more time, but otherwise he's no more than a handcuff.

Alexander Auld will be in goal for the Senators as they take on Vancouver Sunday evening.

Auld hasn't had much work this season so he may very well be rusty in this contest. We wouldn't trust him tonight, but at least the Craig Anderson owners know not to have him active.

It looks like Alexander Auld (undisclosed) will serve as Ottawa's backup goaltender on Friday.

Ottawa already sent down Robin Lehner and they wouldn't have done that unless they thought Auld was healthy enough to warm the bench. Craig Anderson will play between the pipes.
