Dany Heatley (shoulder) skated alone Monday and was spotted firing pucks, as well, during the session.
Heatley underwent surgery on his dislocated shoulder April 7 and is supposed to be done for the season. However, it appears possible he could return depending on how far the Wild go. He's likely definitely out for the first round, which means the Wild would have to upset the top-seeded Blackhawks for Heatley to have a chance to return. Apr 30 - 10:42 AM

Dany Heatley, who underwent shoulder surgery April 8 for a dislocation as well as what’s believed to be a torn labrum, is supposed to be out through the playoffs, but he was not discounting the possibility of returning to the lineup if the Wild makes the postseason.

Heatley, who had played full 82-game seasons in five of the past seven years, would only say his shoulder is feeling good.

The injury suffered by Dany Heatley could ultimately prevent the Wild from being able to use an amnesty buyout on him over the summer.

There's no guarantee Minnesota is planning to buy out the remaining season on Heatley's deal valued at $7.5 million, but it would make sense given how little he contributed to the team when healthy this year. Due to the rule prohibiting teams from using a buyout on injured players Heatley would have to be medically cleared to return from shoulder surgery before the Wild could proceed, which is no guarantee at the moment.
Apr 21 - 9:38 AM

Dany Heatley isn't expected to return until the 2013-14 campaign after undergoing successful shoulder surgery on Tuesday.

He was hurt on April 3 and it was originally thought that a procedure might help him return during the playoffs, but that doesn't look like it will be the case now. Heatley will finish the 2013 season with 11 goals and 10 assists in 36 games.

Dany Heatley underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left shoulder Tuesday.

There was no update on the timeline for Heatley's recovery. It's entirely possible Heatley won't return until the playoffs or at least until very late in the regular season. If you were holding onto him in the hopes of a quick recovery, it might be time to move on.
Apr 9 - 1:06 PM

Dany Heatley will undergo surgery Tuesday to repair his dislocated left shoulder.

Heatley was injured on Wednesday and the Wild hope he is not out long-term. Stay tuned as Heatley is one of the Wild's top scorers with 11 goals, third best on the team.
Apr 8 - 8:45 AM

Dany Heatley (wrist) is expected to miss at least a couple of weeks, according to Wild GM Chuck Fletcher.

With so little time left in the regular season, the best case scenario might simply be that Heatley returns in time to shake off the rust before the playoffs start. Heatley was injured when Marc-Edouard Vlasic slashed him on Wednesday.
Apr 5 - 10:18 AM

A Marc-Edouard Vlasic slash appears to have injured Dany Heatley, possibly for a significant amount of time.

The fading winger actually had a strong game on Wednesday, too, scoring a goal, getting two PIM in that exchange and piling up six SOG. He even topped all Wild skaters with two blocked shots, which is improbable. So much for wondering where he might fit in with Jason Pominville added, at least for now.

Dany Heatley scored the only Wild goal in a 4-1 loss to the Blues Monday night.

The veteran forward, who is coming off his worst offensive season of his career, is nowhere near an elite-level performer like he was a few years ago. With 10 goals and 20 points in 35 games this season, Heatley still has value in 14-team leagues.
Apr 1 - 10:38 PM

Dany Heatley potted two goals in Minnesota's 4-3 win over Phoenix on Thursday night.

Heatley is nowhere near an elite-level performer like he was a few years ago, but he's still plenty dangerous. The better sign for fantasy owners is that this was the first time since the third game of the season he recorded more than three shots in a game. The winger now has seven goals and 11 points in 19 games. Jason Zucker and Jared Spurgeon had the other markers. Matt Cullen and David Setoguchi notched two assists apiece.
Feb 28 - 11:46 PM

Dany Heatley practiced on the third line Monday.

He replaced the injured Cal Clutterbuck alongside Pierre-Marc Bouchard and Kyle Brodziak. Heatley has been having a tough time of late with a goal and two assists in his last 12 games with a minus-three rating. He has five goals and nine points in 17 games.
Feb 26 - 9:45 AM

Veteran right winger Dany Heatley was taken off the Minnesota Wild's first line Saturday night and had a miserable game in the team's 3-1 loss to the Flames in Calgary.

Heatley, a Calgary native, was minus-3 and dropped to the third line as Pierre-Marc Bouchard took his spot alongside Parise and Koivu. Asked about Heatley's struggles, Minnesota coach Mike Yeo said: "We'll figure that out. I'm not worried. Heater will get going. ...This was a team effort (Saturday night) in the wrong direction."
Feb 24 - 11:05 AM

Dany Heatley rejoined Mikko Koivu and Zach Parise on the top line Tuesday night.

Unfortunately it wasn't enough to break Heatley out of his current funk. Heatley has no points in his last eight games. He should break out of that cold streak in the not too distant future, but any hope that the off-season addition of Parise might be enough to turn his declining career around hasn't been realized.
Feb 13 - 10:46 AM

Dany Heatley found the back of the net for Minnesota, but the team suffered a 3-1 loss to the Predators Tuesday night.

Heatley has started the season on a tear and much of that should be attributed to the instant chemistry formed between he and his line mates, Mikko Koivu and Zach Parise. He appears well on his way to a mighty fine bounce back season.
Jan 22 - 11:23 PM

Dany Heatley scored two goals, including the 350th marker of his career, in Minnesota's 4-2 victory over Colorado Saturday night.

The veteran forward, who is coming off his worst offensive season of his career, found immediate chemistry with linemates Zach Parise and Mikko Koivu. Parise and Koivu registered two assists each Saturday night, as the Wild's top line got off to a great start in 2013.
