Dany Heatley will draw back into Minnesota's lineup for Game 3.
He was a healthy scratch in the team's previous two games of their first-round series against Colorado. "[Heatley's] played well against these guys this year," coach Mike Yeo said. "Veteran presence, a guy who's got a lot of experience in the playoffs. We're adding a guy who ... has more playoff points than anybody on our team." Yeo also praised Heatley for his professionalism and he's hoping that he has a strong game. Apr 21 - 1:45 PM

Dany Heatley is a healthy scratch for the Wild against the Avs in Game 2 of their first-round series.

Heatley also did not play in the first game. The 33-year-old has seen his game drop off significantly in recent years. He tallied just 12 goals and 28 points in the regular season, with 10 of those points coming on the man advantage.
Apr 19 - 9:29 PM

Dany Heatley is ready to go in the playoffs when he's called upon.

"Just the way the end of the year went, I was scratched in Phoenix and we kind of went on a tear, so it is what it is," he said of his current situation. "I'll stay ready. If I get in, I'll be ready to go." Heatley was a healthy scratch in Game 1 when the Wild dropped a 5-4 overtime decision to Colorado on Thursday night. It isn't clear yet if he'll be in the lineup for Game 2 Saturday.
Apr 19 - 11:28 AM

Dany Heatley appears as though he will be a healthy scratch on Thursday when the playoffs begin.

He didn't have a spot among Minnesota's top-four lines at practice on Tuesday. Heatley leads all Wild players in playoff scoring with 57 points in 66 games. He sat a few times down the stretch as well.
Apr 16 - 9:55 AM

Dany Heatley will be back in uniform for the Wild on Thursday night.

He has been a healthy scratch for the past two games. Heatley has no goals and two assists in his last 14 matches. He will get back in because Nino Niederreiter is dealing with an upper-body injury.
Apr 3 - 2:34 PM

Dany Heatley was scratched for a second straight game on Monday night.

Coach Mike Yeo has liked the way Heatley has handled himself, which suggests that he could get back into the lineup soon. "The pregame skate in Phoenix, the assistant coaches really complimented him in how hard he worked in all the extra work he was doing," Yeo ssaid. "[Sunday], real good practice. So he's doing everything that he can right now. That's the key for me, use these practices to build the confidence back up, to get feeling good about yourself, and then that way when you get back in there, you'll be ready to take advantage in it." Heatley has 12 goals and 27 points in 74 games this campaign.
Apr 1 - 9:44 AM

Don't be surprised if Dany Heatley is a healthy scratch against Phoenix Saturday night.

He has not scored in 14 games and has registered only two assists over that span while posting a terrible minus seven rating. Justin Fontaine will dress against the Coyotes Saturday night and Heatley could very well be the odd man out.
Mar 29 - 1:12 PM

Dany Heatley has no goals and two assists in his last 14 games.

He has picked up a minus-7 rating in his past five outings and he currently has a team-worst minus-18 rating on the year. Heatley has received over 14 minutes of ice time just one time in his last 12 appearances. He has a mere 12 goals and 27 points in 74 matches.
Mar 28 - 10:28 AM

Wild coach Mike Yeo has talked to Dany Heatley about his reduced role and the winger is hoping for another opportunity to rise up the depth chart.

"It's an adjustment," Yeo said. "I just talked to him about that, talked to him about his game, what we need from him, but at the same time, we have to be trying to find a way to get him more involved through the course of the game so he's not sitting on the bench five minutes. It's tougher for a big body like that." Heatley has one assist in his last eight games and he's been relegated to a bottom-six role since Minnesota acquired Matt Moulson from Buffalo.
Mar 18 - 9:37 AM

Dany Heatley has been dropped to Minnesota's fourth line again.

He has bounced up and down the lineup all season. Heatley lost his spot on the second line because of Minnesota's acquisition of Matt Moulson from Buffalo on trade deadline day. The Wild wanted to keep their third line, consisting of Kyle Brodziak, Matt Cooke and Nino Niederreiter, intact. Heatley has generated 12 goals and 25 points in 62 games this season.
Mar 7 - 10:15 AM

Dany Heatley netted a goal and added an assist in the Wild's 4-3 overtime setback against the Flames on Saturday night.

Heatley has had another very disappointing season. The goal was his 10th, ending an eight-game goal skid. He also has just 22 points this season. It's obvious he's no longer the same prolific player he was several years ago, but it's still amazing how fast his decline has hit. Matt Cooke and Keith Ballard picked up the other goals.
Feb 2 - 12:56 AM

Dany Heatley scored a goal and added an assist for the Wild in a 4-0 win over Nashville Sunday.

With Zach Parise and Mikko Koivu sidelined with injuries, Heatley and Charlie Coyle have developed some real chemistry. Jason Zucker, Marco Scandella and Matt Cooke all found the back of the net in the win.
Jan 12 - 9:36 PM

Dany Heatley had two assists in Minnesota's 4-2 defeat on Saturday.

Don't read too much into Heatley's good night, they've been few and far between this season. He still has just 15 points in 47 games in 2013-14.
Jan 12 - 10:32 AM

Dany Heatley registered an assist on Saturday.

Heatley has just eight goals and 13 points in 44 games this season. He's been getting significantly more playing time over the last few contests, which makes him worth keeping an eye on despite his anemic offensive numbers.
Jan 5 - 9:55 AM

Dany Heatley has been moved to the Wild's top line with Mikko Koivu and Jason Pominville.

Heatley has eight goals and just 12 points in 42 games this season, but the Wild are desperate and Zach Parise is hurt, so they're hoping Heatley still has something left in the tank. We wouldn't bet on Heatley rebounding, but this situation is still worth monitoring closely.
