Rostislav Klesla was paired with Keith Yandle in Saturday's 5-3 win over Columbus.

Yandle's usual defense partner, Derek Morris, was sidelined with an upper body ailment, but Klesla filled in admirably, notching an assist and a plus-3 rating in just over 20 minutes of action. His lack of power play time limits his upside, giving him value only in deep formats.

Rostislav Klesla returned to the Coyotes lineup for Saturday's battle with the Sharks.

Klesla played almost 19 minutes in the game and three shots in the shootout win. It would have to be a very deep league for him to have value.

Rostislav Klesla (lower body) might be available for Thursday's game.

Klesla would need to be activated off of the injured reserve list before that could happen. He has no points and a minus-three rating in two games this season.
Feb 7 - 10:32 AM

Rostislav Klesla was held out of Wednesday's game because of a lower-body injury and he's not expected to play in Thursday night's contest either.

He has registered three blocked shots, two shots on goal and a minus-3 rating in two games for Phoenix this campaign. Consider him as day-to-day.

Rostislav Klesla has completed his stint with Trinec Ocelari HC of the Czech Extraliga.

Klesla had an assist and 30 penalty minutes in 18 Czech games. "It was good," he said of his European stint. "The team was only a half-hour from where I lived, so that’s why I chose that team. I drove every day back and forth so I could still be with the family, so it was good. It was good hockey. We had a pretty good team. I think they’re still top-four in the league, so it was good hockey. It was perfect for me just to be in game shape." Isn't sure if he'll return to Europe in 2013 as he's currently waiting to see if the NHL season gets cancceled.

It is possible that defenseman Rostislav Klesla will drop to the third pairing on the Coyotes depth chart this season.

This is a sign of the strength of the Coyotes blueline as Klesla was Phoenix's top defender in the playoffs. They acquired Zbynek Michalek in the off-season and with the outstanding play of the young Oliver Ekman-Larsson expected to take another leap forward, Klesla will drop to the third unit to give the Coyotes an outstanding blueline. His fantasy value is limited when it comes to points, so we would pass in conventional pools on the veteran.

Rostislav Klesla's face continues to take a beating in the postseason, but he continues to tough it out.

The Coyotes defenseman has been hit in the face three times this postseason. He began the playoffs with six points in seven games, but then took a stick to the face in Game 6 against the Blackhawks, returning to play with a full-cage helmet. He got rid of the cage because it was distracting his vision, and then took a puck to the chin against the Predators in Game 2 of the second-round series. The bad luck continued in Game 1 of the Western Conference final, when Dustin Brown's shot deflected off of goalie Mike Smith and into Klesla's face. "I guess it's kind of tough luck," Klesla said. "In this game, you get hit in your face every once in a while, maybe every couple of years. To get hit three times in three weeks is a bit strange."

Rostislav Klesla served his one game suspension and will be eligible to return to the lineup for Game 1.

Klesla was suspended for hitting Matt Halischuk into the boards in Game 4. He will draw back into the lineup for the Kings series. Just an FYI.

Rostislav Klesla has been handed a one-game suspension for shoving Matt Halischuk into the boards.

Halischuk didn't suffer an apparent injury on the play. Klesla has been great in the Coyotes' playoff run, so his loss is an obvious blow to Phoenix's chances of eliminating the Nashville Predators on Monday. If the Coyotes lose, then Klesla will be available for Game 6 on Wednesday.

The NHL will speak with Phoenix Coyotes defenseman Rostislav Klesla for his check on Nashville Predators winger Matt Halischuk.

The hit was an example of boarding, which happened in the first period of Game 4 on Friday. Halischuk was able to return to the game itself, so that greatly reduces Klesla's chances of being suspended.

Rostislav Klesla has two goals and six points in eight playoff games.

Klesla had just 13 points in 65 regular season contests. His efforts have given the Coyotes the two top offensive defensemen in the playoffs. Teammate Keith Yandle is the only blueliner that has more points than him. "Those two have been phenomenal," Phoenix's Shane Doan said. It's one of the reasons the Coyotes are just two wins away from the Western Conference Finals.

Rostislav Klesla took the butt end of a stick to the face a minute into Game 6, but returned in the second period.

His eye was basically swollen shut after taking Brendan Morrison's stick to the face, yet he still came back with a full shield, tallying 9:09, four hits and two blocked shots. He'll have more than enough time to recover before the second round begins.

Rostislav Klesla had an outstanding night for the Phoenix Coyotes, factoring into all three goals in a 3-2 OT win over the Chicago Blackhawks, giving the 'Yotes a 2-1 series lead.

Klesla had a goal, two assists and six shots on goal. Mikkel Boedker's OT winner was the first playoff tally of his career. Ray Whitney collected his first goal of the 2012 postseason (along with a staggering nine SOGs.) Daymond Langkow, Taylor Pyatt and Boyd Gordon had an assist apiece.
