Niclas Wallin (head) will be a game-time decision on Wednesday.

San Jose might decide to go with seven blueliners if Wallin makes his return, which would allow the Sharks to ease him back into the lineup. He was checked headfirst into the boards on March 15th.

Wallin left Tuesday's game after being hit headfirst into the boards by the Stars Jamie Langenbrunner. Although the Sharks claim the injury is an upper body one, it is to his head and looks like it may be a concussion.

Niclas Wallin left Tuesday's game after being hit headfirst into the boards by Dallas' Jamie Langenbrunner.

Wallin is expected to be evaluated on Wednesday and we don't know if he suffered a concussion. Consider him day-to-day for now, but if he does have a concussion than he could be out for a while.

Niclas Wallin (undisclosed) will miss Tuesday's game versus Detroit.

Niclas Wallin suffered an undisclosed injury on Saturday in the first period and did not return.

Wallin played only two shifts before calling it a night. It could be a recurrence of the neck injury he suffered a couple of weeks ago that forced him to miss two games, but that is only speculation at this point. Stay tuned and look for Derek Joslin to return to the lineup.

Niclas Wallin (neck) returned to action on Saturday November 20.

Niclas Wallin (undisclosed) and Doug Murray (lower body) missed Thursday's game against Dallas.

Both Wallin and Murray give the Sharks some toughness on the blueline and that has been lacking the last couple of games as San Jose has given up two goal leads in both contests, losing each in overtime. While they have little in the way of fantasy value, it has been costing their goaltenders wins in fantasy hockey. Both are day-to-day for now.

Niclas Wallin may miss Wednesday's game with an undisclosed injury now.

He took part in the morning skate after getting Tuesday's session off, but it is unlikely that he will dress. Mike Moore was summoned from the minors to play against the Avalanche in his place.

Niclas Wallin (ankle) is expected to play a much more prominent role on the San Jose blueline this season.

"I don't believe we saw the real Nick Wallin last year," coach Todd McLellan said. "It's hard to play at that time of year in a new system with a new team when you're injured and can't skate. We expect him to play a really big role on the blueline, play significant minutes and be really effective." The veteran defender has participated in every Sharks' practice despite being bothered by a sore ankle at camp. "I still have a little bit of swelling there, but I should be OK as long as it doesn't get any worse," he said.
