Lubomir Visnovsky will tag in for Brian Strait, and pair with Thomas Hickey against the Dallas Stars on Tuesday night.
Through 40 games this season, Visnovsky has posted just four goals and 13 points along with 27 hits and 42 blocks. Unfortunately, he's no longer the fantasy stud he used to be. Mar 3 - 8:08 PM

The New York Islanders are going with Brian Strait instead of Lubomir Visnovsky on defense Saturday.

It says a lot about the Isles' improved defensive depth that they can scratch "Lubo" fairly regularly, although it does also highlight the fact that the injury prone (yet talented) blueliner isn't the offensive threat he once was.
Feb 28 - 3:04 PM

Lubomir Visnovsky will draw into the Islanders lineup Sunday.

Visnovsky was a healthy scratch on Saturday and will replace Brian Strait in the Islanders lineup. He has four goals and 13 points this season.
Feb 22 - 10:10 AM

Lubomir Visnovsky will play on Thursday night versus the Nashville Predators.

The 39 year old defender is having a decent season, all things considered. He has four goals, 13 points, 35 blocks, and 57 shots on goal through 36 games this season. He's no longer a top-pairing defender with a power play flair, but he's serviceable in a multi-week pinch.
Feb 19 - 6:21 PM

Lubomir Visnovsky will be a healthy scratch on Tuesday.

Visnovsky used to be one of the league's top offensive defenseman, but his stock has fallen significantly at this point. He's being taken out of the lineup to make room for Calvin De Haan's (face) return.
Feb 17 - 5:57 PM

Lubomir Visnovsky was back in the Islanders' lineup on Sunday.

Visnovsky spent the previous two games in the press box. He had a minus-two rating in 17:09 minutes of ice time in Sunday's 3-2 win over Buffalo.
Feb 9 - 5:29 AM

Lubomir Visnovsky is not happy that he has been a healthy scratch the last two games.

Visnovsky has missed plenty of action this season due to injuries so he was taken aback when he was forced to sit on Thursday and Saturday despite being healthy. "I have two concussions last year, this year my back is a problem . . . It's OK," Visnovsky said. "Coach tells me they want to make a change, I try to stay positive and wait for my chance." Visnovsky has four goals and eight assists in 31 games this season.
Feb 8 - 10:10 AM

Lubomir Visnovsky will be a healthy scratch Thursday.

He posted a minus-2 rating in 20:50 of ice time in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to Florida. Visnovsky has played in two games since returning from an upper-body injury. Brian Strait will take his place in the lineup.
Feb 5 - 11:54 AM

Lubomir Visnovsky scored a power-play goal in his return to the New York Islanders' lineup, but the Detroit Red Wings won handily 4-1 on Saturday.

It's difficult to get too excited about "Lubo" possibly being a mainstay of the Islanders' high-powered man advantage because the team jumbled PP lines quite a bit in this game. The skill and potential is there to at least keep an eye on Visnovsky's progress, however.
Jan 31 - 4:52 PM

The New York Islanders confirmed that Lubomir Visnovsky will return to action against the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday. He's expected to replace Brian Strait.

Visnovsky had been sidelined since Jan. 4. As is unfortunately customary with the veteran defenseman, injuries have been a big stumbling block for Visnovsky, who has three goals and 11 points in 29 games. He actually had the same exact totals (though in 24 games) with the Islanders last season, too. The potential is pretty tantalizing, but aside from daily fantasy, he just hasn't been worth the hassle.
Jan 31 - 1:57 PM

Lubomir Visnovsky (upper body) is getting close to returning to the lineup.

It was thought that Visnovsky would play earlier in the week as he has been out of action for close to a month but he was not taken off the injured reserve list. Coach Jack Capuano said that Visnovsky has been 'practicing well.' Stay tuned.
Jan 31 - 9:04 AM

Lubomir Visnovsky (UBI) is expected to return to the Islanders lineup Tuesday night against the Rangers.

Visnovsky has been out of the Isles lineup since January 4th but is set to return Tuesday night to face their cross-town rival, Rangers. The veteran defenseman has three goals and eight assists in 29 games played this season. Kyle Okposo will be placed on injured reserve with Visnovsky coming off IR.
Jan 26 - 10:16 PM

Lubomir Visnovsky is dealing with an upper-body injury.

Visnovsky has been placed on the injured reserve list, retroactive to January 4. He has three goals and 11 points in 29 contests in 2014-15. While he's gone, Matt Donovan might get a chance to re-enter the lineup after spending eight straight games in the press box.
Jan 6 - 2:16 PM

Lubomir Visnovsky had an assist in a 3-1 loss to Montreal on Tuesday.

Visnovsky has two goals and 10 points in 24 games in 2014-15. His fantasy value in recent years has been limited due to injuries, but he's an above average blueliner from an offensive perspective when he's healthy.
Wed, Dec 24, 2014 06:21:00 AM

Lubomir Visnovsky scored the eventual game winner for the Islanders Saturday.

Visnovsky now has two goals and eight points in 20 injury-plagued games. If he can stay healthy, Visnovsky can be a valuable rearguard as he can score but the big question for the 38-year-old is his health.
