Jason LaBarbera stopped 14-of-16 shots in relief of Frederik Andersen as the Ducks rallied to beat the Kings 6-5 in a shootout win on Wednesday.

It wasn't a banner day for the Ducks netminding but LaBarbera did enough to back stop a strong effort from team as a whole. The journeyman back-up came into the game in the second period after Andersen let in a softie to Trevor Lewis.

Jason LaBarbera stopped 33-of-36 shots but it wasn't enough in a 3-2 OT loss to the New York Islanders on Tuesday.

Thrust into the starting role because of injuries again, LaBarbera gave his team a chance to win for the second straight game. It didn't start out pretty as he gave up a juicy rebound to Islander star John Tavares to easily shoot past him but he made up for it the rest of the night. With John Gibson out for six weeks and Federik Andersen questionable for the next couple, look for LaBarbera to get another few starts here down the line.

Jason LaBarbera stopped 15 of 17 shots in Anaheim’s 3-2 win over Colorado on Sunday.

John Gibson was supposed to get the start in this game, but he suffered a lower-body injury during the warm-up. Anaheim’s starting goaltender Frederik Andersen is also out with a leg injury, so LaBarbera was thrust into action. Ducks’ goalie coach Dwayne Roloson served at the team’s emergency goaltender. This was LaBarbera’s first start of the season.

It's looking like Frederik Andersen and John Gibson will share the net in Anaheim this season.

While it was thought that Gibson could be sent to the minors to start the season to get a lot of playing time, leaving Jason LaBarbera as the backup, that may not be the case. The good news for the Ducks is that LaBarbera would likely pass through waivers when teams get down to the 23 man rosters in a week and they could send him to the minors. Stay tuned.

Jason LaBarbera has agreed to a one-year deal with the Anaheim Ducks.

Right now it looks like Frederik Andersen and John Gibson will start the season as the Ducks' goaltenders, but LaBarbera might be able to earn a spot out of training camp. Of course, we wouldn't rule out the possibility of Anaheim getting a more established NHL goaltender before the summer's over.

Jason LaBarbera has been assigned to the minors.

He didn't see any game action with the Blackhawks after he was acquired from the Edmonton Oilers. Chicago has decided to keep Antti Raanta as their backup keeper, so LaBarbera will help out the organization's minor-league club.
