Michael Ryder, Martin Havlat, and Peter Harrold will each be scratched versus the New York Rangers on Saturday night.

Ryder has produced just 19 points in 47 games this season, while Havlat has a mere 14 points in 40 games to his credit. Indicating neither have much fantasy value remaining. Harrold meanwhile isn't much better from the blue line, with three points, 39 blocks, and 40 hits over 42 games this season.
Apr 4 - 6:04 PM

Devils forwards Michael Ryder and Stefan Matteau will all be extras for Monday’s game against the Kings.

Ryder hasn’t appeared in a game since March 20th and has just six goals and 19 points in 47 games this season. Matteau is still on the Devils roster but is there for emergency recalls for the time being. He has yet to appear in an NHL game.

Michael Ryder had an assist in a 2-0 win against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Ryder was playing in his second straight game after a five-contest stint in the press box. Devils GM and interim coach Lou Lamoriello has been happy with Ryder's recent performance so it will be interesting to see if Ryder stays in the lineup even after Patrik Elias (back spasms) is ready to return.
Mar 18 - 9:32 AM

Michael Ryder and Martin Havlat will be scratched again versus the Philadelphia Flyers on Sunday evening.

Ryder has played just twice since mid-January, and Havlat has played just twice since early-February. Meaning neither have any fantasy value as they cannot manage to get back into the lineup.
Mar 8 - 5:27 PM

Michael Ryder feels his lack of playing time is why the Devils couldn't find a trading partner for him.

"It's hard to move a guy and get something for him when I've only played two games since the All-Star break. Other teams are probably wondering what's going on," Ryder said. "If they wanted to get something for me, it's tough. Hopefully somebody gives me a chance next year." He's set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer. There probably won't be much demand for his services, but someone might take a chance on him as a bargain bin signing.
Mar 3 - 2:59 PM

Michael Ryder was made a late scratch against the Boston Bruins on Friday night.

Ryder hasn't played since Feb. 13th, making this seven straight in the stands. He has six goals and 18 points through 43 disappointing games this season.
Feb 27 - 6:28 PM

Michael Ryder, Martin Havlat, and Mark Fraser will all be healthy scratches once again Wednesday night against Calgary.

Winners of four straight, the Devils will keep the same lineup rolling Wednesday when they host the Calgary Flames. That means veteran forwards Michael Ryder and Martin Havlat will continue to watch from the press box. Ryder has posted six goals and 12 assists in 43 games this year while Havlat has potted just five goals and nine assists in 37 games played. Both players last dressed for the Devils on February 14th. Also scratched will be defenseman Mark Fraser, who hasn’t dressed since February 9th.
Feb 25 - 5:09 PM

Michael Ryder isn't requesting a trade, but he's certainly open to the possibility.

"I just want to play, so if it's being traded, it's being traded," Ryder said. "I'm at the point that the guys are winning here and I'm happy for that. We're making a little push and it would be nice to be playing and be a part of that, but if I get traded and play I'll be happy with that, too. I just want to play." Ryder has only be used in one game since Jan. 21. He has six goals and 18 points in 43 games this season.
Feb 24 - 5:34 PM

Michael Ryder will watch from the press box Monday evening when the Devils take on the Coyotes.

It’s been a disappointing year for the 34-year-old veteran as he’s recorded just six goals and 12 assists in 43 games for the Devils. He’s only appeared in one game since January 19th and is no longer a player to roster in fantasy leagues.
Feb 23 - 6:55 PM

Michael Ryder, Martin Havlat, and Mark Fraser will be scratched versus the Carolina Hurricanes on Friday night.

Combined, Ryder and Havlat have 11 goals and 32 points this season. Fine if that was put into a single defenseman, but unacceptable from the former top-line scorers. Simply put, they no longer have any fantasy value.

Feb 21 - 6:30 PM

Do not be surprised if the New Jersey Devils trade Michael Ryder.

Ryder has been a healthy scratch in eight of the last nine games so he likely would relish a deal elsewhere. The trade deadline is just 15 days away and there will be lots of rumors and actual trades in the lead up to the event. Ryder has six goals and 18 points in 43 games. The Devils should not expect much in return.
Feb 15 - 8:17 AM

Michael Ryder will be scratched against Nashville on Saturday night.

And so Ryder's miserable season continues, having played just once in the last eight games. The 32 year old has just six goals and 18 points this season through 43 games.
Feb 14 - 3:32 PM

Michael Ryder took an interference penalty on Friday in his return to the lineup after being a healthy scratch for seven straight games.

Ryder took the penalty with the Devils up 1-0 at the end of the second and had Marian Hossa score on the power play early in the third to change the momentum of the game. It remains to be seen if the penalty will force Ryder back to the press box this weekend.
Feb 14 - 9:08 AM

Michael Ryder's stint as a healthy scratch will end on Friday.

Martin Havlat will be in the press box as a result. Ryder spent seven straight contests in the press box after the All-Star break. He's projected to play alongside Dainius Zubrus and Jacob Josefson on the fourth line. Given his recent struggles to stay in the Devils' lineup and the fact that he'll be an unrestricted free agent this summer, it wouldn't be surprising if he's traded before the deadline. At this point the question isn't if the Devils are open to moving him, it's if there's another team out there that's interested in acquiring him.
