Jarret Stoll didn't skate on Sunday.

The defensive center is dealing with an undisclosed injury suffered from the hit that led to Raffi Torres' series-long suspension. The Los Angeles Kings lost the San Jose Sharks in Game 3, so it's looking like that Western Conference semifinals bout could be challenging enough that his presence might be missed.

Jarret Stoll (undisclosed) will miss Game 3 against the San Jose Sharks.

Stoll suffered an injury when Raffi Torres hit him in the head in Game 1. He has an assist and 23 hits in seven playoff contests.

Jarret Stoll won't play Thursday night in Game 2 against San Jose.

He wasn't expected to play after taking a high hit from Raffi Torres in Game 1. Stoll may have suffered a head injury on the play and his status beyond a day by day basis is unclear.
May 16 - 4:19 PM

Jarret Stoll (undisclosed) isn't expected to play in Game 2 on Thursday.

Stoll might have suffered a head injury when he was hit by San Jose's Raffi Torres. "Stolly…is clearly one of our top penalty killers. Him and Lewie always start cause of draws and…it’s an opportunity for someone else to step into a role on the PK," Dustin Brown said. It's not clear how much time Stoll will miss, but injury updates are usually few and far between in the playoffs.

Jarret Stoll might have suffered a head injury when he was hit by San Jose's Raffi Torres.

Torres' appeared to make contact with Stoll's head late the second period and Stoll wasn't available for the third period. Kings coach Darryl Sutter was asked about Stoll's status after the game. He responded with, "You know what? I didn’t play Jarret in the third period, and he wasn't resting, so that pretty well tells you, doesn't it?" The obvious fear from the outside looking in is that Stoll is dealing with concussion-like symptoms, but that hasn't been confirmed.
May 15 - 10:57 AM

Jarret Stoll is not on the Kings' bench for the third period of Tuesday night's game.

No word on when and how Stoll was hurt, but we will update if anything develops.
May 15 - 12:41 AM

Jarret Stoll recorded an assist on Wednesday.

Stoll has seven goals and 18 points in 47 games this season. He's good on the draw and is a physical forward, so he does have some use in fantasy leagues that value those attributes.

The Kings were beaten 1-0 by the Vancouver Canucks Saturday night and the failure to score produced ire from center Jarret Stoll.

The Kings had only one shot on net on three power plays and displayed little grit in the hard-to-score areas. "Every team has got good goaltending. This league is all about that. And low-scoring games, 1-0, 3-2, 2-1, whatever," said Stoll, who scored the Kings' last goal, at 13:46 of the third period of their 3-2 victory over Phoenix on Tuesday. "But the bottom line is we've got to be better to score goals, and bear down more. And it's not like we're not getting chances as a team. I think we are. But we can work for more chances and we can bear down when we get those chances."

The National Hockey League will not review the hit from behind that Jarret Stoll leveled on Cam Fowler.

Fowler was forced to leave the game in the second period Saturday and no penalty was called. Stoll has no fantasy value at this point of the season with only one goal and no penalty minutes in seven games.
Feb 4 - 4:54 AM

Jarret Stoll re-signed with the Kings on a three-year extension worth $3.25 million annually.

Stoll has notched 40 points in four of his eight full NHL seasons, once recording 68, but his production dipped dramatically as he filled more of a depth role this season in Los Angeles. He had six goals and 21 points in 2011-12. A good faceoff man (he won 55 percent in 2011-12) and strong on the penalty kill, Stoll has more value in the NHL than he does in fantasy leagues, unless injuries cause him to move into a top-six role.

The Kings on Monday night became the first number eight seed to win the Stanley Cup.

It looked as if they'd roll through the Devils in the Final after they jumped out to a 3-0 lead to improve their overall playoff line to 15-2, but New Jersey found a way to win two straight before the Game 6 win. Despite finishing second in goals allowed during the regular season, Los Angeles greatly disappointed in the goal-scoring department, finishing 29th -- and that's a big reason why it had to claim the eighth spot. Everything came together in the playoffs, though. "We knew we had the guys in the room to do it. We knew we had the group. We just had to find a way to get in," Jarret Stoll said. "You've just got to get in the playoffs to make some noise. We all came together at the right time, peaked at the right time."

Players on both teams were not happy with the ice conditions for Game 1 at the Prudential Center in Newark Wednesday.

"The ice wasn’t very good out there, so you never know if the puck is going to bounce or not," Jarret Stoll said. "It was pretty sloppy. We got a lot of snow buildup as the game went on. You saw some bouncing pucks out there, but it was the same for both teams. You’ve got to battle through it and find a way to make crisp passes and plays, and find a way to get pucks on net.’’ While both teams are hoping for better conditions for Game 2 Saturday, don't expect it.

Jarret Stoll stressed that the Kings' game plan in the Stanley Cup Finals is to keep the games tight and to not get into a track meet with the New Jersey Devils.

"We want to win games 2-1, 1-0, 3-2, whatever," he said. "Our defensive game is our base. We don't want to have that track meet style of game, the rush game back and forth. That's the game that guys like (Zach) Parise and (Patrik Elias) and (Ilya) Kovalchuk want and we're definitely not going to give them that." It's worth noting that the New York Rangers tried this style of play too and it didn't work versus the Devils forecheck system. The difference in this series will probably come down to Los Angeles attacking the puck as much as the Devils do and whichever team manages to crack the other first will emerge with the Cup.

The Los Angeles Kings biggest strength outside of the goalie crease is at center.

The Kings top three pivots are Anze Kopitar, Mike Richards and Jarret Stoll and this strength down the middle is a major reason why the team is one win away from a trip to the Stanley Cup final."When we are on our game, we feel that is the strength of our team, but we have to bring it every night and control the puck, starting with the faceoff on out and go from there," Stoll said. "Centers control the lines, you are the leader of your line and your pack there and you try to make it work and be consistent."
