Jason Chimera had a brief incident with a New York Islanders fan after the game on Saturday.

The incident occurred near the tunnel from the ice to the Washington dressing room. "A fan was giving him a hard time and [Chimera] wanted a piece of him," said a Nassau Coliseum security guard who was stationed at the tunnel. "I told [Chimera] to get to the locker room." The Capitals forward had no comment when asked about it after the game. It remains to be seen if the NHL will say or do anything before Game 7.

He scored two goals in the third period, including the game winner, to give the Capitals some much-needed secondary offense. Chimera entered the match on a 20-game goalless slump. He also didn't have a point in his previous 10 outings.

Washington left winger Jason Chimera scored a goal and added an assist to help the Capitals defeat the visiting Anaheim Ducks in a shootout Friday night.

Chimera's goal was his fifth of the season. He scored it on a wrist shot in the second period. In the third period, he was credited with his seventh assist of the season on a goal by John Carlson. Carlson now has six goals in 2014-15. Washington played without defenseman Mike Green, who scratched with a lower-body injury.

At 3:13 of the first period, Chimera tipped in a shot by Matt Niskanen, who got credit for his 12th assist of the season. The victory was the Capitals' seventh in a row on home ice.

After being a healthy scratch for Saturday's game, Chimera will skate to the left of Michael Latta and Jay Beagle on the Caps' fourth line. It's tough to recommend any of them as viable fantasy options, however.

Andre Burakovsky will suit up in his place. "You’ve got to learn from it," Chimera said of his benching. "I think it’s embarrassing as a player when you get sat out. A player that’s played a long time, I think it’s embarrassing but you’ve got to move [on] from it. You can’t really let it get to you too much." Chimera took an interference penalty that lead to Nick Foligno's overtime winner over Washington on Thursday. He has six points in 28 games this season.

Chimera’s goal was his first point of the season. Though he had a solid night with five shots on goal and two penalty minutes, he’s nothing but a depth forward for Washington. Eric Fehr and Joel Ward picked up the helpers.
