Frolov is playing alongside NHLer Sergei Kostitsyn, who has equaled Frolov's point total in eight fewer games. In his second year with Omsk, he does not seem to be angling for a return to the NHL.

Alexander Frolov has reportedly signed a three-year deal with Avangard Omsk of the KHL, according to the team's website.

His one-year deal with the Rangers in 2010-11 did not pan out well for either side, as Frolov struggled on the ice with just seven goals and 16 points in 43 games before suffering a torn ACL, a sprained MCL and a torn meniscus in his right knee. He spent the remainder of the year on the sidelines after undergoing surgery and had been demoted to fourth-line duty at the time of his injury.

Alexander Frolov is expected to undergo surgery this week for a torn ACL, a sprained MCL and a torn meniscus in his right knee.

He is projected to be out of action for the remainder of the year. The Rangers will likely place him on long-term injured reserve, which will free up approximately $1.5 million in cap space. Frolov inked a one-year, $3 million contract with New York in the off-season, but never lived up to expectations. He was brought in to play with star player Marian Gaborik and be an offensive threat, but he produced just seven goals and 16 points in 43 games.

Alexander Frolov will miss the remainder of the NHL season with a torn ACL of the right knee.

Frolov also sprained the MCL in the same knee, but the ACL tear is the more serious injury. Surgery will be performed in the near future. It was an unfortunate stint in the Big Apple for Frolov, who signed a one-year deal with the Rangers in the hopes of parlaying a strong season into a lucrative long-term contract. It remains to be seen when or where Frolov will suit up next.

Alexander Frolov is unlikely to play in the Rangers battle against the Canadiens on Tuesday.

There hasn't been much information coming out of the Ranger camp regarding Frolov, who appeared to hurt himself in a collision with Brad Winchester on Saturday, but the callup of Kris Newbury seems to indicate that Frolov will be sidelined.

Alexander Frolov seems to be overcoming a very slow start to the season.

The enigmatic winger has scored two goals and registered five points in the Rangers' last five games and seems to be playing with renewed confidence. If he has been dumped by another owner in your league, see if you can pick him up.

Alexander Frolov scored a goal in the Rangers' 4-3 shootout loss Thursday.

Alexander Frolov denied reports from a Russian reporter that he has requested a trade out of New York.

Frolov is having a terrible season and has seen his ice time dwindle to under 10 minutes a game, but he said that he has not asked to be dealt. "He asked me about a trade," Frolov said of the Russian reporter. "I said 'I never think about it.' I've never asked for a trade. I didn't discuss it with Torts. I guess he was trying to make up a story or to find something." Frolov has only five goals and 11 points in 29 games this season, so he should only be in your lineup in the deepest of leagues.

Alexander Frolov was limited to just 8:09 minutes of ice time in Thursday's 6-5 victory over the New York Islanders.

Frolov was only on the ice for two shifts in the third period of Monday's game. We wouldn't be surprised if Frolov ends up being sent to the press box on Friday. Frolov has surpassed the 50-point marker in each of his last five seasons, but he hasn't impressed coach John Tortorella and right now he's paying the price.

Alexander Frolov was on the ice for just two shifts in the third period of Monday's game.

Frolov has just five goals and 11 points in 26 games this season and he's been particularly disappointing lately. He has only one point in his last nine contests. Frolov showed signs of life when he scored two goals and four points in the Rangers' 8-2 victory on November 14th, but otherwise he was extremely quiet over the month of November.

The slumping Alexander Frolov is skating on the Rangers' third line at the moment.

The Blueshirts iced the following combinations against the Panthers Friday night: Brandon Dubinsky-Derek Stepan-Marian Gaborik; Ruslan Fedotenko-Brian Boyle-Ryan Callahan; Brandon Prust-Artem Anisimov-Frolov and Sean Avery-Erik Christensen-Todd White. The Rangers won 3-0 and will likely keep these lines intact for Saturday's contest against the Predators.
