Radim Vrbata will likely start the season on a line with Martin Hanzal and Max Domi.
Vrbata returned to the Coyotes for the third time in the off-season after a tough season last year with Vancouver as he had only 13 goals and 27 points in 63 games. But Domi has been impressed with Vrbata. "He’s just so smooth," Domi said of Vrbata. "His release is unbelievable. He scores at will." The 35-year-old had 31 goals the previous year so the Coyotes are looking for a 25 goal season from the veteran. Oct 10 - 7:18 AM

Radim Vrbata, who's now in his third stint with the Coyotes, admitted that he never wanted to leave Arizona.

Vrbata was traded from Chicago to the Coyotes before the 2007-08 season. He then signed with the Lightning the following year before being traded back to Arizona for the 2009-10 season. "We never really wanted to leave before," said Vrbata. "So we’re very happy and can’t wait. Every time it seems like the right fit." Vrbata is two seasons removed from his 31-goal season. Don't expect him to score 30 in 2016-17, but a 20-goal season isn't out of the question.

The Arizona Coyotes announced that they've signed forward Radim Vrbata to a one-year contract.

The team didn't announce the financial details of the agreement, but it's been reported that the deal will come with a base salary of around $1 million dollars with potential bonuses bumping that number up to $3 million. "We are very pleased to sign Radim to a one-year contract," said GM John Chayka. "He’s a proven goal scorer who will add skill and smarts to our lineup. We look forward to having him back in a Coyotes uniform this season." The 35-year-old scored just 13 goals and 27 points in 63 games with Vancouver last year, but just two seasons ago, he scored 31 goals. It's a good low-risk signing for the 'Yotes.
Aug 16 - 2:15 PM

Radim Vrbata has reportedly agreed to a one-year deal with a base salary of $1 million with the Arizona Coyotes, per ESPN's Craig Custance.

There will be opportunities for Vrbata to make more money through incentives. Custance says the deal isn't signed, but the two sides have agreed to the terms. Vrbata had a mediocre 2015-16 season, as he scored just 13 goals and 27 points in 63 games with the Canucks. Those might be disappointing numbers for him, but he's just one year removed from a 31-goal season. This has the potential to be a nice low-risk signing for the rebuilding Coyotes.
Aug 15 - 1:09 PM

Radim Vrbata is reportedly close to completing a one-year deal with the Arizona Coyotes.

He has skated in six seasons with the Coyotes in two stints with the team. Vrbata has played some of the best hockey of his career with the organization and will be looking to bounce back after he had 13 goals and 27 points in 63 games last year as a member of the Canucks.
Aug 14 - 10:25 PM

Radim Vrbata is still looking for an NHL roster with training camps drawing closer.

He is an unrestricted free agent after slipping from 31 goals and 63 points in 79 contests in 2014-15 to 13 markers and 27 points over 63 contests last year. Vrbata also registered a minus-30 rating.
Jul 29 - 8:58 AM

Radim Vrbata probably will become an unrestricted free agent on July 1.

The Canucks weren't able to trade Vrbata before the deadline because teams reportedly weren't interested. He scored just 13 goals and 27 points in 63 games last season.
Jun 1 - 2:53 PM

Radim Vrbata (lower body) won't return this season.

Mar 21 - 3:39 PM

Radim Vrbata won't play in Saturday's game because of a lower-body injury.

Vrbata has had a disappointing season thus far. The 34-year-old has 13 goals and 27 points in 63 games. He's considered day-to-day, but he shouldn't be owned in standard fantasy leagues.
Mar 19 - 5:01 PM

Radim Vrbata (lower body) returned to action on Monday March 7.

Vrbata missed five straight games due to the ailment. He had three shots on goal in 16:50 minutes' worth of playing time in his return.
Mar 8 - 3:13 AM

Radim Vrbata won't play in Saturday's game against the San Jose Sharks.

Vrbata has been dealing with a lower-body injury and he still isn't ready to return. There's a good chance he'll play in Monday's game against the Los Angeles Kings. The 34-year-old has 12 goals and 24 points in 57 games last season.
Mar 5 - 2:47 PM

The Vancouver Canucks didn't receive any trade offers for Radim Vrbata.

There was plenty of speculation about the possibility of Vancouver moving Vrbata prior to the deadline, but it seems there just wasn't a market for him. He certainly has enjoyed a great career, but keep in mind that the 34-year-old forward has been limited to 12 goals and 24 points in 57 games to go along with his minus-32 rating. Those numbers don't live up to his $5 million annual cap hit.
Mar 4 - 11:27 AM

Radim Vrbata (lower body) will not participate in Thursday's game.

There was some hope that Vrbata would be available after he practiced with the Canucks on Wednesday. He has 12 goals and 24 points in 57 contests this season.
Mar 3 - 2:27 PM

Radim Vrbata (lower body) took part in Wednesday's practice.

Vrbata will still need to be re-evaluated on Thursday before the Canucks will decide on his availability for that night's game. It's also worth noting that Vrbata was skating on the fourth line during the practice.
Mar 2 - 5:25 PM

Radim Vrbata will not play on Sunday due to a lower body injury.

Vrbata could return next week but it may not be in a Vancouver uniform as he is one of the favorites to move at the deadline. The forward has had a terrible season with 12 goals and 24 points after a 31 goal, 63 point performance last season so there should be plenty of teams interested in a winger who can score.
