Radim Vrbata scored his eighth goal of the season Saturday night, but it was not enough as the Arizona Coyotes lost a 3-2 contest to the Columbus Blue Jackets.
This puts Vrbata on a five-game streak during which he has earned at least one point per night. Unfortunately, he and the Coyotes are also riding a three-game losing streak after dropping to the Sharks and Kings. Vrbata’s 17 points leads the Coyotes and makes him fantasy relevant, however. Radim Vrbata's assist Saturday was his 300th point as a Coyote.

Vrbata is back in familiar territory after a very good and then very bad season in Vancouver. The forward now has six goals and 12 points in 17 games and should be in someone's lineup in deeper leagues.
Nov 20 - 6:16 AM

Radim Vrbata scored a power play goal at the 12:05 minute mark and cut the Bruins lead to one as the Coyotes lost 2-1 Saturday night.

Right wing Radim Vrbata has netted single goals in the last two games, but neither effort resulted in a win. Vrbata’s goal Saturday night was set up by Anthony DeAngelo and Oliver Ekman-Larsson, both defensemen, and made it past Tuukka Rask in a bounce off the side iron. Jordan Martinook placed extra pressure in front of Rask to witness the shot ultimately find its way to the back of the net.

The 35-year-old has a had a strong start to the season with 10 points in 13 games. He is an intriguing add in standard leagues after a miserable campaign in Vancouver last year.

Nov 5 - 9:04 AM

While he isn't lighting the hockey world on fire, it continues to seem true that Radim Vrbata feels most comfortable as a member of the Arizona Coyotes.

He scored his fourth goal of 2016-17, but it wasn't enough as the Coyotes fell 3-2 to the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday night. Vrbata had a -1 rating, fired three SOG and received 17:01 TOI in this game.
Oct 30 - 12:36 AM

Radim Vrbata scored both of Arizona's goals in their 3-2 loss to the Rangers on Sunday night.

The 35-year-old now has three goals and five points in as many games during a hot start to the season. Vrbata has points in all but one game this year.
Oct 23 - 10:34 PM

Radim Vrbata scored a goal in a 3-2 loss to the Islanders on Friday.

He almost made it two goals but Jaroslav Halak denied him on a breakaway early into the second period. Placing him on a line with Martin Hanzal and Max Domi seems to have been a good idea by coach Dave Tippett. We'd wait a few more games before even considering adding Vrbata to your fantasy lineups.
Oct 21 - 10:07 PM

Radim Vrbata will likely start the season on a line with Martin Hanzal and Max Domi.

Vrbata returned to the Coyotes for the third time in the off-season after a tough season last year with Vancouver as he had only 13 goals and 27 points in 63 games. But Domi has been impressed with Vrbata. "He’s just so smooth," Domi said of Vrbata. "His release is unbelievable. He scores at will." The 35-year-old had 31 goals the previous year so the Coyotes are looking for a 25 goal season from the veteran.
Oct 10 - 7:18 AM

Radim Vrbata, who's now in his third stint with the Coyotes, admitted that he never wanted to leave Arizona.

Vrbata was traded from Chicago to the Coyotes before the 2007-08 season. He then signed with the Lightning the following year before being traded back to Arizona for the 2009-10 season. "We never really wanted to leave before," said Vrbata. "So we’re very happy and can’t wait. Every time it seems like the right fit." Vrbata is two seasons removed from his 31-goal season. Don't expect him to score 30 in 2016-17, but a 20-goal season isn't out of the question.
Aug 17 - 9:01 AM

The Arizona Coyotes announced that they've signed forward Radim Vrbata to a one-year contract.

The team didn't announce the financial details of the agreement, but it's been reported that the deal will come with a base salary of around $1 million dollars with potential bonuses bumping that number up to $3 million. "We are very pleased to sign Radim to a one-year contract," said GM John Chayka. "He’s a proven goal scorer who will add skill and smarts to our lineup. We look forward to having him back in a Coyotes uniform this season." The 35-year-old scored just 13 goals and 27 points in 63 games with Vancouver last year, but just two seasons ago, he scored 31 goals. It's a good low-risk signing for the 'Yotes.
Aug 16 - 2:15 PM

Radim Vrbata has reportedly agreed to a one-year deal with a base salary of $1 million with the Arizona Coyotes, per ESPN's Craig Custance.

There will be opportunities for Vrbata to make more money through incentives. Custance says the deal isn't signed, but the two sides have agreed to the terms. Vrbata had a mediocre 2015-16 season, as he scored just 13 goals and 27 points in 63 games with the Canucks. Those might be disappointing numbers for him, but he's just one year removed from a 31-goal season. This has the potential to be a nice low-risk signing for the rebuilding Coyotes.
