Radim Vrbata scored two goals in the Vancouver Canucks' 3-2 victory over the Wild in Minnesota Wednesday night.
The Canucks, who lost six times on a seven-game road trip that concluded last week, opened a four-game road trip sluggishly in Minnesota, but Vrbata scored his fifth goal of the season in the final minute and it seemed to kick-start the team. Vrbata followed with a power-play goal at 11:15 of the second period. He now has six goals on the season. Jannik Hansen notched the game winner in the third period with his seventh of the season. Daniel Sedin had two assists for the Canucks, his 14th and 15th of the season. Nov 26 - 12:21 AM

Radim Vrbata will return to Vancouver's lineup on Sunday against New Jersey.

Vrbata is slotted to skate on the third line to the right of Chris Higgins and Jared McCann. While Vrbata was signed to be a top-line winger, this could be good spark of depth for both Vrbata and the Canucks as a team. He has three goals and eight points in 19 games thus far, and is shooting an unsustainable 4.1% compared to his career 9.4%.
Nov 22 - 6:03 PM

Radim Vrbata will not play against the Blackhawks because of a groin injury.

Vrbata missed Wednesday’s game with the injury, too, though he seems to be inching his way toward a return. He has three goals and eight points this season. It remains to be seen whether he'll be able to rejoin the lineup Sunday against the Devils.
Nov 21 - 8:45 PM

Radim Vrbata (groin) didn't take part in Friday's morning skate.

Vrbata was on the ice by himself though. He's still might be able to play on Saturday.
Nov 20 - 4:10 PM

Radim Vrbata is not expected to play Wednesday after he missed the morning skate.

Coach Willie Desjardins said that Vrbata is listed as day-to-day with an undisclosed injury.
Nov 18 - 6:21 PM

Radim Vrbata had an assist in a 3-2 loss Thursday night.

Vrbata had gone four straight games without a point going into Thursday's contest. He now has three goals and seven points in 17 games in 2015-16.
Nov 13 - 11:31 AM

Radim Vrbata has collected a point in each of his last three games.

The 34-year-old had no points in his first six games, but he's accumulated five points in his last five contests. He won't keep producing at a point-per-game pace but he should remain somewhat productive if he stays healthy.
Nov 2 - 7:36 PM

Radim Vrbata finally got on the board Thursday night, unfortunately his Canucks still fell to the Capitals 3-2.

Good things happen when you go to the net, as they say. Vrbata was the beneficiary of a fortuitous bounce off his skate after Braden Holtby made the initial save. Either way, it looks pretty good on your score sheet at home.
Oct 23 - 12:38 AM

Radim Vrbata is back on a line with Henrik and Daniel Sedin.

Vrbata doesn't have a single point in six games this season despite firing 25 shots on goal. Being reunited with the Sedin twins should help spark him, especially seeing as the Canucks don't have a ton of offensive depth.
Oct 21 - 10:08 AM

Radim Vrbata hasn't scored a goal on 18 shots this season.

Vrbata is still searching for his first point too. "Well, I hope eventually it is going to go in," Vrbata said. "The chances and the shots and looks I have had you would hope that one of those would go in — not just one, but more. I have to stay with it and hope the next one will go in. Early in the season everyone wants to start well and when it is not going in it gets a little frustrating, but you have to stay patient and stay with it." It shouldn't be too long before he gets on the scoresheet.
Oct 16 - 10:06 AM

Radim Vrbata is really enjoying playing on the second line with Bo Horvat and Sven Baertschi.

Vrbata had 31 goals and 63 points last season on the first line with the Sedin twins but coach Willie Desjardins moved Brandon Sutter to the top line and put Vrbata with the kids. "It was a good first game overall," Vrbata said. "We got the win and as a line we got better as the game went on. The first period was a little bit chippy, not much going on. But as the game went on I think we created some chances for us and some scoring shots. Hopefully we can build off of that and the more we practise and play together obviously we will learn each other a little more and hopefully we will be better." Vrbata will get first unit power play time so he'll still see action with the Sedins. Look for 25-30 goals and 55-60 points from Vrbata this season.
Oct 10 - 11:16 AM

Radim Vrbata assisted on Nick Bonino's goal in Vancouver's 2-1 win over Calgary Thursday night.

Vrbata has recorded a point in three of his last four contests. Having previously played with the Arizona Coyotes, this is Vrbata's first postseason run since 2012.
Apr 24 - 11:38 AM

Radim Vrbata had an assist in a 4-2 loss to Calgary on Sunday.

Vrbata also had three shots on goal in 15:36 minutes of ice time. He has two points in three playoff games after recording 31 goals and 32 assists in 79 regular season contests.
Apr 20 - 10:10 AM

The Vancouver Canucks MVP this season was Radim Vrbata.

Vrbata had a great season with 31 goals and 63 points in 79 games as he took home the MVP honors (the Pavel Bure Award) on Saturday. He was a deserved winner as his play helped rejuvenate the Sedin twins.
Apr 13 - 10:12 AM

Radim Vrbata is really enjoying his first season in Vancouver.

His play has been outstanding with 31 goals and 61 points in 78 games but is more than pleased that his six-year-old son Krystof has become a hockey fan and is taking skating lessons in Vancouver after not being interested in Phoenix. "That may be the one thing that is most interesting to me and my wife," a smiling Vrbata says. "When we were in Phoenix our son didn’t care about hockey all that much and now he is so much into it. I don’t know if it is because there is hockey on TV all the time here, but he is taking skating lessons now. I take him here (Rogers Arena) to skate, he is watching and wants to know who scored, who we play next. He is really into it and that is something." Vrbata has fit in well with the Sedin twins and the line will lead the Canucks in the playoffs.
