Ty Conklin allowed two goals on 26 shots in the Red Wings’ 7-2 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets Monday night.

Conklin did a good job of not falling asleep tonight against the lowly Blue Jackets due to the lack of action on his end of the ice. Jimmy Howard (groin) faced shots again during Monday's morning practice and hopes to be back between the pipes Friday night against the Nashville.

Ty Conklin will be between the pipes for Detroit on Monday night when the Red Wings host Columbus.

It will mark his third straight start as Jimmy Howard continues to recover from a groin problem. Conklin owns a 4-5-1 record with an .882 save percentage and a 3.32 goals-against average in 13 games with Detroit his season.

Ty Conklin kicked out 20 of 24 shots in a 5-4 victory Saturday.

Conklin allowed three goals on 11 shots in the second period. This is another rough start for him in what has been a disappointing season.

Ty Conklin will start in Saturday's game.

Conklin is the Red Wings' de facto number one starter while both Jimmy Howard and Joey MacDonald are sidelined. Conklin has a 3.25 GAA and .886 save percentage in 12 games this season.

Ty Conklin allowed two goals on 34 shots in a 2-1 overtime loss to the Rangers Wednesday.

With both Jimmy Howard and Joey MacDonald nursing injuries, Conklin is the stopgap netminder in Detroit for the short-term. Prior to this game, he had not played since February 4th.

Ty Conklin will be between the pipes for Detroit on Wednesday after he cleared re-entry waivers this afternoon.

Jordan Pearce will serve as his backup, with number one goalie Jimmy Howard out with a groin injury and number two option Joey MacDonald sidelined with a back ailment. Conklin's last appearance in the NHL came on Feb. 4 against Edmonton.

The Red Wings have recalled Ty Conklin on an emergency basis from Grand Rapids of the AHL. The goaltender must clear re-entry waivers.

With Jimmy Howard’s groin once again causing the goaltender problems, the Red Wings need to get another goalie to New York for Wednesday’s game against the Rangers. Conklin, 36 on March 30, needs to clear re-entry waivers before he can report, but he is expected to start on Wednesday if he does. Conklin is 3-5-0 with a 3.40 GAA and .878 save percentage in 11 games with the Red Wings this season.

Detroit goaltender Ty Conklin cleared waivers today.

The noon deadline came and went with the unclaimed Conklin heading to the minors. With Jimmy Howard returning for tonight's game at Chicago, Joey McDonald will return to his backup role. Conklin has started nine games -- most recently Feb. 4 at Edmonton -- and appeared in 11 with a 3-5-0 mark and 3.40 GAA.

Ty Conklin has been placed on waivers by the Detroit Red Wings.

Joey MacDonald wrestled the starting job away from Conklin while Jimmy Howard was out with a broken finger. Now that Howard is ready to return, MacDonald will serve as Detroit's backup goaltender and Conklin will head to the minors. There's an outside chance that Conklin will be claimed, but we doubt it given his 3.40 GAA and .878 save percentage in 11 games this season.

Ty Conklin could be in danger of losing his job with the Detroit Red Wings.

Joey MacDonald has done a superb job of filling in with Jimmy Howard recovering from a broken finger. Howard is projected to return on Sunday, but it's entirely possible that Conklin will be sent to the minors instead of MacDonald. Conklin has a 3.40 GAA and .878 save percentage in 11 games this season.

Ty Conklin, starting in the place of the injured Jimmy Howard, didn't last long against the Oilers Saturday night.

He was pulled after allowing three goals on only nine shots in Detroit's 5-4 loss. Joey MacDonald, who was called up from Grand Rapids Friday, did a much better job in relief stopping 22 of 23 Edmonton shots and will likely earn the Wings' next start.

Ty Conklin will get a rare start on Saturday as he replaces the injured Jimmy Howard.

Howard suffered a broken finger on Thursday off a shot by the Canucks Maxim Lapierre, so it gives Conklin a couple of games to establish himself as he has seen action in only 10 games this season. He is 3-5-0 with a 3.20 GAA and a .886 save percentage. "Good opportunity -- he's getting a chance and is ready to go," coach Mike Babcock said of Conklin. "We've got to play real well, like we always try to do. If we do that, we give Conks an opportunity to be good." The Red Wings could use a couple of good performances from Conklin as it will allow them to rest Howard a little more often down the stretch.

Ty Conklin won a rare start as the Detroit Red Wings topped the Dallas Stars 3-2 (SO).

After losing four games in a row, Conklin has won two of his last three games. Don't expect him to cut into Jimmy Howard's starts too often, even if he has been playing better lately.
