Michael Leighton allowed three goals on 16 shots in Carolina's 8-6 win over Vancouver.

Cam Ward got the start for Carolina, but he was pulled after giving up three goals on 18 shots. When Leighton came into the game, the Canes were already trailing 3-2. By the end of the second period, it was 5-2 for Vancouver. But something crazy happened in the final period, as the Hurricanes scored six goals to complete the comeback. Leighton ended up getting credited with the win. He now has a 2-1-0 record with a 3.53 goals-against-average and an .875 save percentage.

Michael Leighton's time in the NHL isn't finished just yet.

He was recalled back to the Hurricanes on Saturday, who begin their four-game home stand on Tuesday versus Vancouver. Carolina has just one back-to-back set left this month, on the 22nd in Buffalo and on the 23rd home to Boston.
