It hasn't been determined yet if Scott Clemmensen will play next season, but he is considering working with the Devils as the team's goaltender development instructor.

"I've talked to (team president) Lou (Lamoriello) and (GM) Ray (Shero) in the last couple of weeks," Clemmsenen said. "Nothing is official." He seems to be intrigued by the position. Clemmensen started the 2014-15 campaign with New Jersey, but he was later demoted to AHL Albany.

Scott Clemmensen has been sent to AHL Albany.

Keith Kinkaid is ready to return from a groin injury, which is why Clemmensen was demoted. Clemmensen has a 4.71 GAA and .852 save percentage in three contests in 2014-15.

Scott Clemmensen has been summoned by the New Jersey Devils.

Scott Clemmensen hasn't been discouraged by the fact that he's spent the last couple of months in the minors.

"I'm having fun," Clemmensen said. "Obviously, I'm late in my career here. I would rather be in the NHL. Everybody wants to be in the NHL and further their career as long as they can, but the situation being as it is, it's very rewarding for me. I get to be around these young guys. I get to work with (Albany goalie coach) Johan Hedberg, a guy I really admired as a player myself. I get to work with him every day as well as Scott Wedgewood and Maxime Clermont, too. They're younger goalies who are great guys and good goalies. It's been very rewarding for me." It helps that Clemmensen lives close enough to Albany that he's able to stay at home and, as he pointed out, he's still getting paid to play hockey. Clemmensen has been solid in the minors, a point emphasize

Scott Clemmensen has been diagnosed with the mumps, according to Tom Gulitti of The Bergen Record

Clemmensen is currently in the AHL, and he becomes the second player there to be diagnosed with the virus. There have been 21 confirmed cases at the NHL level. Clemmensen has a 2.28 goals-against average and a .916 save percentage in seven games.

Scott Clemmensen has been sent down to AHL Albany.

Cory Schneider has started in almost every game this season and he's not likely to get many breaks this season, so the Devils will continue to alternate between backups to keep both of them fresh. So while Clemmensen gets some work in the AHL, Keith Kinkaid will primarily warm the bench in New Jersey.

Scott Clemmensen gave up four goals on 37 shots in the Devils’ 5-4 shootout loss to the Flames on Saturday night.

Clemmensen was making his first start of the season, as it gave Cory Schneider a night off after making 20 straight. That Clemmensen even got the Devils a point is a minor miracle because he was all over the place in the third period, giving up three goals on nine shots. Calgary was down 4-2, and scored twice — with 2:22 left and five seconds remaining to force overtime. Clemmensen has a 4.71 goals-against average and .852 save percentage this season.

The New Jersey Devils have summoned Scott Clemmensen.

Clemmensen spent a couple weeks in the minors to shake off the rust because Cory Schneider was starting in every game anyways. Clemmensen had a 2.18 GAA and .920 save percentage in five AHL contests. If the Devils first 18 games are any indication, the team's backup isn't worth owning in anything but the deepest of fantasy leagues.

He expects to he assigned to the minors if/when he clears. "This is not my first time down this path, so you just take it in stride, take it with a positive attitude," Clemmensen said. "Go down and play some games and have fun playing hockey and make sure your game is in order because you never know." He has made two relief appearances, but he hasn't received a start yet for New Jersey.

Scott Clemmensen might play between the pipes on Saturday.

Nothing has been decided yet, but Cory Schneider will definitely play on Friday and the Devils might shy away from using him on back-to-back days. Clemmensen has only played in one game this season and isn't expected to get many starts this season.

Scott Clemmensen has been told to be ready for Saturday's game against Ottawa because he might start in his first match of the season.

Coach Pete DeBoer said it is "possible" that Cory Schneider will start both games of New Jersey's back-to-back situation, but he hasn't made a final decision yet. All we know for certain right now is that Schneider will start Friday's game versus Dallas.

Scott Clemmensen admitted he was rusty in his preseason debut.

Clemmensen stopped just eight of 10 shots in the Devils' 5-4 victory over the New York Rangers. He played in half of the game. "I was anxious to get out there and get a game in, but at the same time I was rusty and not the way I wanted to start it anyway," he said. "I let a bad goal in there. I should have had that one." He's competing for the backup gig.
