Date:

Rob Scuderi and Richard Panik will be scratched from Friday's match against Florida.

Unforutnately neither posses any fantasy value. Scuderi is allergic to counting stats, and Panik, though with three points in five games with Chicago, has just 42 points in 176 career NHL games.

Former Pittsburgh Penguins rearguard Rob Scuderi will not face his former teammates in the back end of a home-and-home. Brandon Mashinter will also sit

Scuderi was replaced in the lineup with Michal Rozsival. Brandon Mashinter also sits this one out.

Rob Scuderi will be scratched Sunday against Ottawa.

Scuderi has seen just seven games on Chicago's blue line, which indicates he could already be falling out of favor with Coach Quenneville. Not that he possesses much fantasy value in the first place.
Jan 3 - 5:23 PM

Rob Scuderi, David Rundblad, and Brandon Mashinter will each be scratched from Tuesday's match with Arizona.

Unfortunately there isn't a lick of fantasy value between the three, but Scuderi is potentially the most enticing if you're in a super deep league. Through 31 games (six with Chicago) he's posted a grand total of 36 hits. So hopefully it's not also also a salary cap league.

Rob Scuderi should be available for Sunday's game against Carolina.

He took a redirected puck to the face this past Tuesday, but coach Joel Quenneville is hopeful that Scuderi will be in the lineup. In five games with Chicago, the veteran defenseman has five shots and a minus-2 rating.

Rob Scuderi will pair with Michal Rozsival in his Blackhawks debut Tuesday night against the Avalanche.

Scuderi unfortunately is not much of a fantasy asset, as he has four points, eight PIMs, 10 hits, and 32 blocks over 25 games this season.

The Chicago Blackhawks acquired Rob Scuderi from the Pittsburgh Penguins for Trevor Daley.

Scuderi is more of a stay-at-home defenseman, while Daley is more of an offensive-minded blueliner. Both players have year remaining on their contract after this season. Scuderi has a cap hit of $3.375 million and Daley has a cap hit of $3.3 million, but the Penguins will retain $1.125 million of Scuderi's cap hit both this year and next year.

Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Rob Scuderi will take the place of the injured Kris Letang on Friday night.

Scuderi has posted four points in 24 games this season. He has no fantasy value.

Rob Scuderi was made a late scratch from Tuesday's match with the Wild.

No word on why the veteran defender Scuderi was placed in the stands tonight, but we'll keep you posted. Through 16 games he has just four points, 20 blocks, and not much else to show for his efforts.

Rob Scuderi had an assist in Pittsburgh's 3-2 win over Vancouver.

It was Scuderi's second point in as many games, giving him four points in 11 contests in 2015-16. That's a really good start compared to what he typically does offensively, but we don't expect him to maintain his current point-per-game pace.

Rob Scuderi will be a healthy scratch in Thursday's game against Ottawa.

The 36-year-old has played in all three games to this point. Even when he is in the lineup he has no fantasy value. He had one goal and 10 points in 82 games last year.

Penguins GM Jim Rutherford said he has the authority from ownership to buy out players if he deems it necessary.

Rob Scuderi would probably be the top candidate for that if the Penguins buy out anyone at all. He has two years left of his contract at $3,375,000 per. Scuderi, 36, doesn't do much offensively, but he did block 110 shots in 82 contests in 2014-15. Still, buying him out would free up some much needed cap space. We aren't expecting the Penguins to actually buy anyone out, but we wouldn't completely dismiss the idea either.

One of the Penguins' big issues in Thursday's 2-1 loss to the Rangers was their lack of discipline in the first period.

Pittsburgh took four minor penalties in the first 20 minutes and entered the first intermission down 2-0. That led to the Penguins falling behind in the first round series 1-0. "Short-handed for seven, eight minutes of a 20-minute period, you're not doing yourself any favors," said Rob Scuderi. "You're taking half your lineup out of the equation. Those guys sit on the bench and they get cold. It's hard to keep your legs going. It's hard to keep any momentum going when you're constantly killing penalties and in your own end." This is nothing new for the Penguins as they took the second most minor penalties in the league in the regular season.

Rob Scuderi scored a goal in Pittsburgh's 3-1 loss to the New York Islanders on Friday night.

This has been quite a collapse down the stretch. The injury bug has taken a huge chunk out of the Penguins but they aren't doing themselves any favours. The Eastern Conference Wild Card spots will be determined on the final day of the regular season. They will be claimed by two of Pittsburgh, Boston and Ottawa. Scuderi's goal late in the second period tied the game at one but the Pens eventually allowed two goals in the final frame. Sidney Crosby and Paul Martin picked up the assists on Scuderi's goal. The 36-year-old now has one goal and 10 points in 81 games this season.
