Robert Scuderi thinks the Kings slow start cost them on Tuesday.
"I think the challenge for us is – as Darryl would say – ‘starting on time,'" Scuderi said. "I thought they dominated the first. Second period, I thought they dominated the first half. We took the second half, and we dominated the third. When you think about it, it’s pretty much an even game, but they buried on their chances." Scuderi added that the Kings didn't learn their lessons from Game 3, so now the series is tied. The good news for the Kings is that the series is moving back to Los Angeles for Game 5. Defenseman Rob Scuderi is on a three game scoring streak.

Normally this is not big news for an NHLer but it is for Scuderi who is not known for his offensive prowess. Hopefully you lucked out and had him in your lineup but somehow we doubt it.

Los Angeles Kings GM Dean Lombardi acknowledged he's had informal talks about signing D Rob Scuderi to a contract extension.

Scuderi has one year left on the four-year deal he signed with L.A. prior to the 2009-10 season. While Scuderi's offensive numbers haven't been anything to write home about this season (one goal, four points), he's been a reliable blueliner for a Kings team besieged by injuries to its defensemen. Scuderi's current contract has an average cap hit of $3.4 million, but the new CBA could reduce the average price for a defender of Scuderi's ilk.

Robert Scuderi had two assists on Wednesday.

It was the fourth time in his lengthy NHL career that he has picked up two points in a game. The defensive defenseman now has a goal and four points this season with a minus-three rating. He also has just one minor.

The Kings allowed more goals in 22 minutes Saturday against the Blackhawks than they did in any game of their entire 20-game playoff run.

Makes you realize just how remarkable they were in the postseason. Los Angeles lost 5-2, but it allowed four goals in that 22-minute timeframe. Rob Scuderi thinks it was all mental. "Physically, I can understand most guys in this league not being ready because they haven't been playing overseas," Scuderi said. "But I think mentally is where we were hurting the most."

Los Angeles defenseman Rob Scuderi thinks that the New Jersey Devils have the momentum in the series at this stage.

The Devils became only the third team in NHL history to win Games 4 and 5 of the Stanley Cup Final after dropping the first three games. "They have got the momentum now," Scuderi said. "It's up to us to get it back." The other two teams that have fought back after losing the first three of the Cup Final are the 1945 Detroit Red Wings who lost in Game 7 to the Toronto Maple Leafs, and the Maple Leafs who won the Cup in 1942 over Detroit, becoming the first team in pro sports to win a series after losing the first three.

Kings blueliner Robert Scuderi gave Martin Brodeur credit for New Jersey's 3-1 victory in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup finals.

"I thought we played OK for the most part," Scuderi said. "I thought both teams were kind of sitting back for a long period of time. I thought we had some opportunities to get the lead, and Brodeur was the difference. He made the big saves when he needed to, and they capitalized on a couple of their opportunities and that’s it." The Los Angeles Kings still have a 3-1 series lead going into Saturday's contest. Both goaltenders have been solid in this series and Game 5 is likely to be another low-scoring contest.

Robert Scuderi received some "good wishes" from former Pittsburgh teammates in his quest to claim the Stanley Cup with the Los Angeles Kings.

"There were a couple of messages from Brooks (Orpik) and Sidney (Crosby)," said Scuderi. "Just them saying, 'Good luck.' It's always nice to get a show of support from your friends." He won the Cup as a member of the Penguins in 2009 and joined the Kings as a free agent the following summer. Scuderi has played alongside Drew Doughty during Los Angeles' run to the Stanley Cup Finals this spring, while posting a plus-8 rating, 21 blocked shots and chipping in one assist in 14 games.

Robert Scuderi is looking to win his second Stanley Cup after winning his first one as a member of the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Scuderi is one of four players on the Kings to have won the Stanley Cup as Jason Williams (Carolina, 2006), Colin Fraser (Chicago, 2010) and Dustin Penner (Anaheim, 2007) have also done so. The Kings are in the Western Conference Final for the first time since 1993 as they face off against the Phoenix Coyotes, who have never gone this far. "The Penguins hadn't won a round in a long time and when you win one round you feel really good, like you accomplished something. And then you win two rounds and you feel real good and you still realize when you step back that you're only halfway there," Scuderi said. "It's fun. It's OK to be excited. It's OK to have fun with it. But you just have to realize that it's not our end goal."

Kings coach Terry Murray was furious about a play behind his team's net Monday night in which Rob Scuderi narrowly escaped serious injury during an icing race for the puck.

After a 4-2 loss to the San Jose Sharks, Murray said: ``Rob Scuderi is lucky he didn’t break his leg. That’s how players end their careers. I’ve seen players end their career that way. That’s why the NHL talks about the automatic icing. That is a penalty. That is embarrassing that that’s not called. That was deliberate.’’

Rob Scuderi set a personal season high total in goals on Saturday.

Before you rush out to pick him up off the waiver wire, it was only his second goal of the season. Scuderi's previous high of one occurred in three different seasons. He has no fantasy value.

Rob Scuderi was at practice on Wednesday after receiving around 25 stitches to close a cut to his lip.

Scuderi will play against the Blues after getting cut on the lip against the Red Wings on Monday. He has not lost any teeth as of yet. Scuderi has not been able to eat any solid food since Monday and has been put on antibiotics. He has little to no fantasy value but is a valued member of the Kings blueline.
