Dan Hamhuis posted an assist with a plus-2 rating in Tuesday's 3-0 victory at Vegas.
Hamhuis had one of his best games of the season, also stepping in with three blocked shots, two hits and a minor penalty across 20:21 of ice time. He entered the game with no goals and just one assist over his past 13 contests, so his only fantasy appeal is due to his 27 blocked shots and 22 hits through 22 outings. Nov 29 - 1:29 AM

Dan Hamhuis posted a goal with an assist and a plus-2 rating while delivering three hits in 19:44 of ice time Tuesday against the Coyotes.

Hamhuis failed to post a point over his first three games and he was slowed by a groin injury. He has never been much of a threat to score, and he managed just one goal in 79 games during the 2016-17 season. Needless to say, he remains relevant only in deeper fantasy pools and formats using hits and blocked shots.

Dan Hamhuis (groin) might rejoin the Dallas Stars on Saturday.

Hamhuis will be tested during Saturday's morning skate and if that goes fine then he's in. When asked, Stars coach Ken Hitchcock didn't confirm who would be scratched if Hamhuis is healthy, but it sounds like Jamie Oleksiak is the probable candidate.

Dan Hamhuis (groin) isn't expected to return on Thursday.

Beyond that, Hamhuis remains day-to-day. He was also unavailable for Tuesday's game due to the ailment.
Oct 11 - 4:10 PM

Dan Hamhuis (groin) has been ruled out for Tuesday's contest.

Hamhuis was ruled as a game-time decision on Monday for the match, but he won't be available. He played through the ailment on Saturday and it's probably better for him to get some rest.

Hamhuis logged just 13:38 of ice time on Saturday.
Oct 9 - 2:10 PM

Dan Hamhuis scored a goal and an assist in Dallas' 4-0 win over the St. Louis Blues.

Hamhuis doesn't usually chip in with offense, but strange things tend to happen in the preseason. The 34-year-old had one goal and 16 points in 79 games with the Stars in 2016-17. Jason Spezza, Mattias Janmark and Remi Ellie also scored for Dallas on Saturday night.

Mar 27 - 3:41 AM

Dan Hamhuis won't suit up in Friday's game against the San Jose Sharks.

It's unclear as to why he's not playing tonight, but Stars.nhl.com reporter Mark Stepneski believes Hamhuis could be "banged up". Stephen Johns will take his spot in the lineup.
Mar 24 - 8:19 PM

Dan Hamhuis picked up his seventh point of the season during Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Flyers.

Through 27 games now the veteran defender has seven helpers. With just 55 career goals in 899 games, we wouldn't expect much unfortunately.

Dan Hamhuis will be a healthy scratch in Monday's game against the St. Louis Blues.

Hamhuis is in his first year with the Stars, but he hasn't fit in as well as he would have hoped. He has no goals and five assists in 21 games this season. Curtis McKenzie and Stephen Johns will also watch from the press box.

Dan Hamhuis will be scratched against the Wild on Saturday.

With two points, nine hits, and 10 blocks in seven games thus far, Hamhuis is providing his usual type of production. A bit of physicality with a few points mixed in.

Dan Hamhuis wants to bring defensive stability to the Dallas Stars.

The Stars signed Hamhuis as an unrestricted free agent this summer after losing puck movers like Alex Goligoski and Jason Demers. "The strength of this team is the offensive power, and I’m hoping what I can bring to the team is sound defensive presence," Hamhuis said. "That’s the way I have played throughout my career, I take a lot of pride in my defensive game."

Newly-signed defenseman Dan Hamhuis will likely get plenty of second power-play ice time this upcoming season.

We expect John Klingberg to anchor the power-play and skate for the first minute or so on the Stars' first unit, but Hamhuis would be the next off the bench to direct the second team. That makes him somewhat valuable in fantasy pools. Don't forget about him on draft day. He should make a solid late-round selection.
