The Stars are in St. Louis on Tuesday and home to San Jose on Thursday if the prognosis is correct. They're also home to Detroit on Saturday and in Minnesota on Sunday next week should he need a few more days to recover. Hemsky has nine goals and 23 points over 52 games thus far this season.

The Stars may have won the game but they lost Tyler Seguin, Patrick Eaves and Ales Hemsky to injury. Head coach Lindy Ruff admitted that Hemsky will miss "some time" because of the injury. The Stars will surely make some call-ups in the next few hours, but their playoff hopes will take a huge hit if these three players are out for an extended period of time.

Ales Hemsky scored the overtime winner in Dallas' 3-2 win over the New York Rangers.

Hemsky scored just over one minute into overtime to give the Stars the win and he also assisted on Erik Cole's second period goal. The 31-year-old has had a season to forget in Dallas but he seems to have turned things around of late. Hemsky has five points (two goals, three assists) in his last six games. The Stars were able to salvage a win on the weekend after they dropped Saturday's game to Buffalo.

His shot was deflected by Rangers defenseman Marc Staal and the puck went up and over Henrik Lundqvist to give Dallas a 2-1 lead at the time. Hemsky still has a lot of work to do before fantasy owners should consider picking him up again.
