Ales Hemsky led the way for the Stars on Thursday night, scoring a goal and two assists in the 6-3 win over Winnipeg.
Hemsky now has three goals and 11 points in 16 games this season. Though the 32-year-old hasn't exceeded 32 points since 2012, he is a good bet to do so this season on the Stars high-powered offense. Nov 13 - 12:40 AM

Ales Hemsky skated on a line with Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn during Saturday's practice.

Hemsky was taking Patrick Sharp's spot on the top line because he's dealing with an injury. Sharp is questionable for Sunday's game against the Red Wings and it looks like Hemsky will take his spot if he can't go. Hemsky could be an intriguing play in one day fantasy leagues if Sharp doesn't end up playing.
Nov 8 - 10:32 AM

Ales Hemsky will return to the Stars' lineup in place of Antoine Roussel on Friday against Carolina.

Through a dozen games this season Hemsky has a goal and seven points, however he has just an assist over his last eight games. Roussel meanwhile has two goals, six points, eight blocks, 15 hits, and 26 PIMs in 13 games. It would seem the rugged winger has more potential point diversity than the skilled one.

Updating an earlier item, Ales Hemsky is expected to sit out Tuesday's game because of a hip issue.

Devin Shore is expected to take his place in the lineup. Hemsky is still feeling some pain after off-season hip surgery, but you shouldn't be surprised if he isn't out for very long.
Nov 3 - 6:40 PM

"He's been struggling a little bit and we're trying to get him feeling better," coach Lindy Ruff said a week ago. "It's hip related. I don't think this is something that isn't normal." Hemsky had off-season hip surgery and he may get Tuesday's game off, so that Devin Shore can make his NHL debut.
Nov 3 - 6:07 PM

Ales Hemsky feels great physically and emotionally this season.

"I spent the summer here and it made a big difference. I feel a lot more comfortable here," said Hemsky, who had off-season hip surgery. "I think maybe I put too much pressure last year. I think it was hard. You sign a free agent contract and you want to prove you deserve it. So then you really try hard, and when it doesn't work out, you get frustrated. It's hard, but I think I'm more comfortable with everything now." Hemsky has been much better this season with one goal and three assists in his first three games. He has picked up at least one point in each appearance.
Oct 14 - 9:53 AM

Ales Hemsky scored a goal and added a helper in Thursday night's 3-0 win over Pittsburgh.

It took the veteran 22 games to score his first goal in 2014, so it's a great relief to get the deed done early. After last year's 32 points in 76 games, Hemsky has a lot to prove in 2015-16.

"We thought there might be an opportunity, but we want to make sure they are ready to go," coach Lindy Ruff said. "They've both had two real good practices, but they are still not ready for that physical compete at that high a level. We've got an opportunity to take some time with them." Hemsky had 32 points last season.
Sep 19 - 10:54 PM

Ales Hemsky (hip) isn't expected to see much action during the preseason.

Stars GM Jim Nill said it's "very doubtful" that Hemsky will play in the first four or five exhibition games. Dallas has been encouraged by Hemsky's progress following off-season hip surgery, but they are adhering to a schedule and will keep an eye on his progress over training camp.
