Ales Hemsky (lower body) is expected to come off injured reserve before Friday's game against Anaheim.

That is why the Stars have returned Radek Faksa to the AHL. Hemsky hasn't played since Dec. 29 because of a lower-body injury, but it looks like he will be back versus the Ducks.
Jan 11 - 12:29 PM

Ales Hemsky skated Saturday morning with his Dallas teammates.

That doesn't mean he is ready to return to action from a lower-body injury, though. It is progres, however. Barring a setback, Hemsky could be back in action sometime next week.

Ales Hemsky has no goals and two assists in his last 18 games.

Dallas has a lot of great offensive forwards, but Hemsky doesn't always play with them. He does get some five-on-five time with Jason Spezza, but it's also not uncommon to see Hemsky on the third line. Hemsky is worth keeping an eye on as he could be a great pickup under the right set of circumstances, but we're currently not particularly optimistic about him for the rest of the season.

Ales Hemsky led the way for the Stars on Thursday night, scoring a goal and two assists in the 6-3 win over Winnipeg.

Hemsky now has three goals and 11 points in 16 games this season. Though the 32-year-old hasn't exceeded 32 points since 2012, he is a good bet to do so this season on the Stars high-powered offense.
Fri, Nov 13, 2015 12:40:00 AM

Ales Hemsky skated on a line with Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn during Saturday's practice.

Hemsky was taking Patrick Sharp's spot on the top line because he's dealing with an injury. Sharp is questionable for Sunday's game against the Red Wings and it looks like Hemsky will take his spot if he can't go. Hemsky could be an intriguing play in one day fantasy leagues if Sharp doesn't end up playing.

Ales Hemsky will return to the Stars' lineup in place of Antoine Roussel on Friday against Carolina.

Through a dozen games this season Hemsky has a goal and seven points, however he has just an assist over his last eight games. Roussel meanwhile has two goals, six points, eight blocks, 15 hits, and 26 PIMs in 13 games. It would seem the rugged winger has more potential point diversity than the skilled one.

Updating an earlier item, Ales Hemsky is expected to sit out Tuesday's game because of a hip issue.

Devin Shore is expected to take his place in the lineup. Hemsky is still feeling some pain after off-season hip surgery, but you shouldn't be surprised if he isn't out for very long.
