Ales Hemsky (concussion) was on the ice on Friday.

Hemsky hasn't been able to play since Oct. 20 due to the concussion. The fact that he's resumed skating is an encouraging sign, but that doesn't necessarily mean his return is imminent. As is often the case when it comes to a concussion, we'll have to wait and see.
Nov 10 - 4:26 PM

Ales Hemsky didn't practice Monday because of concussion-like symptoms.

Hemsky was hit hard a few times last Friday against Anaheim and it's believed he was injured on a check from Corey Perry. A timetable for his return is unclear at this time.
Oct 23 - 11:07 AM

Ales Hemsky suffered an upper-body injury in Friday's game against the Anaheim Ducks.

It's been a nightmare season for Hemsky and the Canadiens so far. The veteran forward hasn't looked very good this year and this injury won't help his cause. He's considered day-to-day for now.
Oct 21 - 1:32 AM

Ales Hemsky was back on the fourth line during Tuesday's morning skate.

Hemsky was a healthy scratch Sunday, but it looks like he will be back in the lineup on Tuesday night. If that happens then Jacob De La Rose appears to be the odd man out.

Oct 9 - 10:17 AM

Ales Hemsky is projected to start the year on Montreal's fourth line.

That will place him alongside Paul Byron and either Jacob De La Rose or Torrey Mitchell on Thursday against Buffalo. Hemsky opened training camp on the top line, but he wasn't a fit there.
Oct 4 - 8:32 AM

Ales Hemsky is skating on a line with Jonathan Drouin and Max Pacioretty.

This is just the first couple of days of training camp, so his place on the line isn't set in stone. The 34-year-old had four goals and three assists in 15 games with the Dallas Stars last season. Even if he does stick on that line, he probably won't have any fantasy value.
Sep 16 - 5:25 PM

Ales Hemsky has signed a one-year, $1 million contract with the Montreal Canadiens.

Hemsky struggled with a hip injury in 2016-17 and he played in just 15 games as a result. If the 33-year-old (he'll turn 34 in August) can stay healthy next season then this will be a nice bargain bin signing for the Canadiens.
Jul 3 - 12:21 PM

Ales Hemsky (hip) is unlikely to return this week.

The Stars have three games left and Hemsky is back on the sidelines with a hip issue that has kept him out for most of the season. He has been limited to just 15 outings in 2016-17. Hemsky is eligible for unrestricted free agency in July.
Apr 4 - 12:37 PM

Ales Hemsky (hip) isn't expected to be available for Saturday's game against the Carolina Hurricanes.

Hemsky continues to be riddled by injuries this season. He's suited up in just 15 games and obviously can't be relied upon to stay healthy.
