Carlo Colaiacovo played his first game for the Red Wings since April 14th as he suited up for Game Six of their opening round playoff series against the Ducks Friday.
The veteran blueliner only played in six regular season contests due to a shoulder ailment, but his puck-moving skills were a welcome addition for the Wings in his first game back "I thought Colaiacovo had a couple of shifts, like everyone else, he wishes he didn’t have, but I thought he played well,'' coach Mike Babcock said. There's little doubt Colaiacovo will be in the lineup in place of Brian Lashoff for Game Seven of the series Sunday night. May 11 - 9:02 AM

"Now that you've been cleared, you have to practice like you are ready to go," Babcock said. "Obviously it's great to have options and good to have depth but I'm going with the crew I have. You have to be part of practice first and get yourself in shape and we'll go from there."

I was still having some issues that were of some concern physically and mentally and I wasn't at the point where I was confident enough to be out there. It's been a frustrating battle, but I'm at the point now where I'm feeling better than ever and I'm real close now. I'm just taking it day by day."
