Wade Brookbank has been handed a one-game suspension by the AHL.

Brookbank has no points and 20 penalty minutes in five games with the Rockford IceHogs. He typically gets a lot of penalty minutes, but it's moot from a fantasy perspective because there's basically no chance of him playing in the NHL once the lockout ends.

He will likely spend the majority of 2009-10 in the AHL for Pittsburgh as well.

Wade Brookbank was the offensive star last night as the Canucks defeated the Sharks 3-2.

It is not a misprint. Brookbank scored once and added an assist to lead the Canucks. The enforcer scored his first goal in the NHL since February 2004. The two point effort matched his career total. Keep him in your lineup for penalty minutes because this offensive display may never be seen again.

Wade Brookbank will be the 7th defenseman for the Canucks tonight.

The Canucks will only use 11 forwards so Brookbank could also be moved up to the wing if the Canucks go with 4 lines at any point in the game. Brookbank is tough and should be considered in pools where penalty minutes count.
