Kent Huskins is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent this summer.

Flyers GM Paul Holmgren is considering re-signing Huskins, but he cautioned that the team is still in the evaluation process. Still, he had nothing but good things to say about Huskins, who is out with a concussion. "He’s been around the block a few times and he’s played in a lot of big games and it shows," Holmgren said. "He played on a Stanley Cup champion. That experience is something that you can’t teach young players. When you have a guy ... and we were missing an older [veteran], that’s what he brought to our team. We pretty much know what Kent did and what he does for a team. He’s not going to rush the puck end to end. He is going to play defense and move the puck up. He’s a quality person." Philadelphia acquired Huskins from Detroit for a conditional seventh round draft pick. He would provide the Flyers with some extra defensive depth, but he doesn't have any fantasy value.
Apr 22 - 10:58 AM

Kent Huskins suffered a concussion Monday night following a high hit from Montreal's Ryan White.

He was hurt early in the first period and White was ejected for the incident and he'll probably hear from the league. "That's the part of the game that they're trying to take out," said Kurtis Foster, who jumped to Huskins' defense after the hit.

With Oliver Lauridsen’s strong debut Saturday, newly acquired Kent Huskins will probably be a healthy scratch Sunday against visiting Washington.

The Flyers acquired Huskins from the Detroit Red Wings for a conditional seventh round draft pick."He’s an experienced guy who can give us a little depth," GM Paul Holmgren said. However, he doesn't have any fantasy value in standard leagues.
Mar 31 - 9:28 AM

The Philadelphia Flyers have acquired Kent Huskins from the Detroit Red Wings for a conditional seventh round draft pick.

The Flyers' blueline has been decimated by injuries, so they needed to find a Band-Aid solution. Huskins is a veteran depth defenseman that doesn't have any fantasy value in standard leagues.
Mar 30 - 1:29 PM

Kent Huskins played on Sunday after spending five straight games in the press box.

Huskins had a blocked shot and a hit in 14:52 minutes of playing time. He doesn't have any fantasy value in standard leagues.
Feb 18 - 10:26 AM

The Detroit Red Wings got good news today on defenseman Kent Huskins.

He has been cleared to play tonight. The Wings take on the Blue Jackets at Nationwide Arena in Columbus. Huskins left Friday's 5-3 victory over the Blues after a crushing hit by David Backes, but the impact looked worse that it was. Detroit general manager Ken Holland told the Free Press that Huskins "had tests after the game. All negative. Huskins is playing (tonight)."
Feb 2 - 11:33 AM

The Detroit Red Wings signed D Kent Huskins to a one-year contract Tuesday.

Huskins has seven points and a plus-9 rating in 25 games with St. Louis last season. He'll join a Detroit team which is in desperate need of help on the back end. That said, he'll likely be more of a depth player for the Wings and isn't all that useful from a fantasy perspective.
Jan 22 - 12:19 PM

Kent Huskins isn't expected to be re-signed by St. Louis prior to July 1.

It looks like he will be permitted to test the waters as an unrestricted free agent. Huskins skated in 25 games with the Blues in 2011-12, while posting seven points and a plus-9 rating.

Kent Huskins is slated to start the playoffs on the Blues' top defense pairing alongside Alex Pietrangelo.

Huskins played with the San Jose Sharks in his previous two seasons, so he has plenty of motivation to advance his new squad in the postseason. Carlo Colaiacovo will start the opening round as a healthy scratch.

Kent Huskins (bruised hand) was back in the St. Louis lineup Saturday.

Huskins suffered the injury on March 3 and missed six games. He played third unit minutes on the blueline Saturday seeing only 12:23 minutes. He has very little fantasy value with only two goals and five points in 17 games this season.

Kent Huskins will draw back into the St. Louis lineup Saturday.

Huskins has been a healthy scratch the last two games after playing three in a row. He was out for four months with an ankle injury before playing on Feb. 15. "When you miss that much time, ... looking back on it, we probably should have spaced it a little better," coach Ken Hitchcock said. "But he looks fine now, it looks like he's got some jump back, so that will be good." He has no fantasy value and will replace the injured Kris Russell in the lineup.

Kent Huskins feels ready to return from his ankle injury on Thursday.

If Carlo Colaiacovo, who suffered a wrist injury during Wednesday's practice, can't play then Huskins will suit up in his place. Huskins hasn't played since Oct. 28.
