Colton Orr was scratched from Toronto's lineup Wednesday night.
Fellow Leafs' enforcer Frazer McLaren didn't play in Wednesday's loss to Tampa either. Coach Randy Carlyle likes to play his tough guys though, so they will probably be back in the lineup soon. Carlyle likes his team's identity with Orr and McLaren in the lineup even though the Leafs outshot an opponent for the first time in 11 games with them in the press box. The Toronto bench boss will ice the squad he feels gives them the best chance of winning and the Leafs have played well with them skating on the fourth line. Orr leads the league with 155 penalty minutes in 42 games this year. Apr 25 - 11:24 AM

Updating a previous post, Colton Orr (lower body) returned to practice Tuesday and will be available to play Wednesday against the Montreal Canadiens.

Orr has missed the last three games with the ailment. He has resurrected his career after spending some time in the AHL following a concussion. There's no guarantee he'll play Wednesday, but he is healthy again.

Colton Orr (lower body) will not play Saturday night against Ottawa.

He did participate in part of Friday's practice but is certainly not ready for game action. Consider Orr day-to-day.

Colton Orr won't play Thursday because of a lower-body injury.

The Leafs tough guy has resurrected his career after his playing days were thought to be over because of a concussion. Orr has chipped a goal and an assist in 17 games this campaign to go along with 55 penalty minutes.

Colton Orr got into his first fight of the 2013 season on Monday night against Buffalo.

He tangled with towering forward John Scott during the first period and he dropped him to his knees with a punishing body shot. Orr was visibly pumped after scoring the win and seemed glad to be back in the NHL. He spent more of the 2011-12 season with the Marlies in the AHL than he did with the Leafs. Under coach Randy Carlyle, Orr appears to have a regular spot on the fourth line. Just don't expect him to get much ice time.
Jan 22 - 11:33 AM

Colton Orr suffered a dislocated finger at Maple Leafs camp Tuesday.

X-rays were negative, which is nice, but it remains to be seen if Orr will even get a legitimate shot in the NHL this season. He was demoted to the AHL last season and his enforcer game appears ill-suited to today's NHL. He shouldn't be on your fantasy radar.

Colton Orr wants to alter his game while he's in the minors.

"The game’s evolving and changing, so you kind of have to go with it," Orr said. "I’m never going to give up. I’m going to keep working and do what it takes . . . and see where it goes. There’s still room for power forwards, checking forwards, a little fight once in a while." Orr's demotion has sparked a debate about the future of enforcers in the NHL, but they're certainly not gone just because Orr is. After all, Zenon Konopka and Zac Rinaldo aren't employed based on their ability to find the back of the net. That being said, Orr would certainly have more value - both to fantasy owners and just in general - if he was also capable of chipping in a bit offensively. Unfortunately, while Orr might be willing to modify his game, we remain skeptical of his chances of success given that he has just 20 points in 378 career NHL contests.

Colton Orr has successfully cleared waivers.

Orr is expected to report to the AHL Toronto Marlies. Orr can get over 200 penalty minutes if he plays in a full season, but obviously he's not going to get anything close to that with the Leafs in 2011-12. Orr is under contract through the 2012-13 campaign.

Colton Orr has been placed on waivers by the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Orr is a great source of penalty minutes, but the Leafs haven't used him much this season. He comes with a $1 million annual cap hit and he's signed through the 2012-13 campaign, so we'd be surprised if anyone picks him up off of waivers.

Colton Orr (concussion) has been given the green light to play.

"I've taken part in the team skates (the past two weeks) and I'm ready to go for training camp and start the season," Orr said. He hasn't played since January 20th due to the concussion.

Colton Orr (concussion) should be able to play next season, according to Leafs GM Brian Burke.

Orr missed the two and a half months of the season after suffering a concussion. He had two goals and 128 penalty minutes in 46 games this season.

Colton Orr hasn't suffered from concussion-related symptoms recently.

Orr has been working out for a couple weeks and it is still possible that he'll return before the end of the season. Orr has two points and 128 penalty minutes in 46 games this season.

The Leafs are reluctant to provide details on Colton Orr's (concussion) status.

"He's going through some further tests and that's as far as I'll go on that," said Ron Wilson. It's not often that you can get an accurate timetable for a player who has a concussion. We'll keep you posted, but you should consider him out indefinitely.

Colton Orr (concussion) has been placed on the IL by the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The Leafs have recalled Jay Rosehill to fill the fighting void left by Orr’s injury. Orr had no use in fantasy leagues other than incurring PIMs.
