Mike Weaver will be back in Florida's lineup Saturday when the team hosts Pittsburgh.
He hasn't played since Feb. 28 because of a knee injury. Weaver is a very good penalty killer, which should help the Panthers' 30th-ranked PK upon his return. He has 38 hits and 38 blocks in 19 games this year. Apr 13 - 3:06 PM

Mike Weaver is listed as probable for Saturday's game against the Penguins.

He has missed the last five weeks due to an knee injury. We don't expect Weaver to make any fantasy impact at all.
Apr 13 - 10:17 AM

Mike Weaver (knee) is practicing with the team, but he's not projected to travel with the team for Thursday's game at Winnipeg.

He will probably remain home and continue to work on his conditioning. Weaver hasn't played since Feb. 28, but he is expected to return to action before the season ends.
Apr 9 - 8:00 AM

The Panthers expect Mike Weaver (knee) to return before the season ends.

He skated on his own before Friday's practice and should be able to join his teammates in workouts in the coming days.
Apr 6 - 9:49 AM

Mike Weaver is projected to miss four-to-five weeks with a lower-body injury.

He was injured on Feb. 28 and hasn't played since. Weaver has seven points, 38 hits and 38 blocked shots in 19 games with the Panthers this year.
Mar 6 - 11:05 AM

Mike Weaver will be out of action indefinitely with a serious lower-body injury.

He will likely be placed on injured reserve shortly. If for some reason you have Weaver on your fantasy team, now may be a good time to cut him.
Mar 2 - 10:10 AM

Mike Weaver suffered a lower-body injury Thursday night, and it could see him miss "extended" time.

He played just 2:11, and it's not good news for a team already struggling to keep the puck out of its own net. Weaver may have seven points on the year, but he's more known for his stay-at-home style than anything else. "[Weaver] is going to be out an extended amount of time,’’ coach Kevin Dineen said. "It’s going to be quite a while by the looks of it.’’
Mar 1 - 9:46 AM

Mike Weaver scored his first goal in over two years but the Panthers came up short in their 3-1 loss to the Penguins on Friday night.

In fact, it was Weaver's first goal in 132 games. Even with seven points this season, Weaver is nothing but a stay-at-home defenseman and has zero fantasy appeal. Brian Campbell had the assist. He has nine points on the season.
Feb 22 - 9:49 PM

Mike Weaver is projected to return from concussion-like symptoms on Monday against Ottawa.

Weaver said he's "excited to jump back in there." Florida killed all six Carolina power plays on Saturday in their opener, but he should return there as he was valued penalty killer last season .
Jan 21 - 5:43 PM

Mike Weaver (concussion) took part in Monday's practice.

Weaver sustained the concussion on Wednesday, but fortunately he hasn't been experiencing symptoms for days. As a result, he might even be able to return on Monday.
Jan 21 - 1:42 PM

Mike Weaver hasn't been experiencing concussion symptoms for days.

Weaver sustained the injury on Wednesday and missed Saturday's contest as a result. However, Weaver downplayed his absence in the season opener. "It’s just protocol," Weaver said. "I’m hoping to play [Monday night]." Panthers coach Kevin Dineen is "very optimistic" about Weaver's chances of playing Monday.
Jan 21 - 7:52 AM

Mike Weaver is dealing with concussion symptoms.

Weaver has still been skating, but this is obviously very concerning news. He is out Saturday and should be considered day-to-day beyond that point.
Jan 19 - 2:18 PM

Mike Weaver sustained an injury during Wednesday's scrimmage that may sideline him for the start of the season.

"He's a question mark on the very short-term," coach Kevin Dineen said. The Panthers are likely to keep Alex Petrovic and possibly Michael Caruso, who was placed on waivers Thursday, on the roster to start the year.
Jan 18 - 9:36 AM

Panthers players are doing their best to fill up their down time during the lockout.

Many have been working out/skating together and have used the extra time off to spend time with their family, and on Wednesday went with their kids trick-or-treating for Halloween. Still, though, while many remain hopeful there will be a season, in the end they all acknowledge this lost time isn't good for the product. "I enjoy the family time,'' defenseman Mike Weaver said. "But the NHL needs to realize how much this is hurting the game and the bad taste it's leaving in people's mouths. Out of sight, out of mind.''

Mike Weaver's first goal of the year came in Game 3 of Florida's first-round series against New Jersey in the Stanley Cup playoffs.

He has one marker in three games versus the Devils after failing to score in all 82 regular season contests, while contributing 16 assists. Weaver's goal tied the game at 3-3 after the Panthers had fallen behind 3-0 before the first period hit the halfway mark.
