That's a lot of production for the veteran forward who started the season off slow with three assists in 10 games but has nine goals and 14 points in his last eight games. Mike Cammalleri scored another pair of goals during Saturday's 5-4 overtime win over the Predators.

It's the second two-goal effort for the veteran winger in a week. With points in four of his last five games, Cammalleri is now up to nine goals and 17 points in 18 games thus far.

It was a big week for Cammalleri who returned after a six game absence to deal with his daughter's illness and subsequent surgery. He had four goals and eight points in three games this past week and now has seven of each in 15 games. He has gone from a must sit to a must start of late.

Michael Cammalleri scored twice in a 4-3 shootout loss of the New Jersey Devils to the Pittsburgh Penguins Saturday night.

Cammalleri has come on strong in recent weeks. All seven of his season goals have been earned since November 6th when he had a hat trick against the Hurricanes. He earned one each against Toronto and Detroit before Saturday night’s multi-performance. Four of his seven assists have come in the last three games.

Cammalleri missed six games because of personal reasons earlier this month, but he's been on fire since returning. He scored four points on Wednesday night and added two more tonight. Mike Cammalleri scored a goal and three assists in Wednesday's 5-4 shootout win over the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The Devils fell behind 3-0 in the first period, but battled their way back. Cammalleri did most of his damage in second period, as he helped set up goals by Travis Zajac and Beau Bennett and his goal at the 5:30 mark of the period made it 3-3. The Leafs jumped back ahead 4-3, but Cammalleri also helped set up the game-tying goal. The Devils sniper missed his attempt in the shootout, but Jacob Josefson eventually scored the winner. The 34-year-old has four goals and 10 points in 13 games this season.

Confirming an earlier item, Mike Cammalleri will play in Wednesday's game against Toronto.

He wasn't unavailable for six games because his 5-year-old daughter was hospitalized with pneumonia and she had to undergo surgery after there were complications. Thankfully, she is home now and the family expects a "full recovery."

Cammalleri has missed the last six games due to a personal issue and with the Devils returning from a four game road trip Tuesday, he was back at practice this morning and playing on the top line with Travis Zajac and P.A. He will not be with the Devils on the team's current road trip because of personal family matter. Cammalleri hasn't played since Nov. 8.

The forward finally looked like he was coming out of his season long slump with a hat trick nine days ago but he had to return from Buffalo to see his wife and two daughters before Friday's game. He should return for Tuesday's match in Dallas. He has three goals and six points in 12 games thus far.

It doesn't appear as though Mike Cammalleri will play in Saturday's match with the Sabres as he has left the team due to personal reasons.

No word yet on what the personal reasons are, but hopefully it's nothing terrible. Cammalleri's next chance to play is Tuesday in Dallas, perhaps we'll find out what's going on by then.

Mike Cammalleri unleashed havoc on the Hurricanes Sunday evening with a natural hat trick to propel the Devils to a 4-1 win.

The 34-year-old hadn't scored yet this year prior to becoming the first Devil since Zach Parise in 2007 to score a natural hat trick. Cammalleri's sixth career hat trick, and first since February 2013, gives him six points through 11 games this season.

Mike Cammalleri is completely over the hand injury that shut him down last season.

"I’m coming to camp with no issues," Cammalleri said. "It was a complex diagnosis that took some time. It was tough and it was a frustrating year. It was a complex diagnosis that they couldn’t put a hand on. It was nice to get clarity on that." Cammalleri had 14 goals and 38 points in 42 games with New Jersey in 2015-16. He'll be looking to play in at least 70 contests for the first time since 2008-09.
