Mike Cammalleri delivered two of the Devils' goals in their 3-0 shutout of the Arizona Coyotes in New Jersey Monday night.

The veteran left winger increased his goal total on the season to 22 with his two scores in the third period, one of which was into the Coyotes' empty net with 1:48 left. Scott Gomez scored the Devils' first goal in the first period to move into fifth place on the team's all-time list with 473 points. It was Gomez's fifth goal of the season. He trails Scott Niedermayer, in fourth spot on the Devils' all-time list, by three points. The Devils have a four-game winning streak, their longest stretch without a loss in two years. (They won five in a row in February of 2013.) The Devils have outscored their opponents 8-4 over the past four games. They'll play the fifth of a six-game homestand against the Calgary Flames Wednesday.
Feb 23 - 10:25 PM

Mike Cammalleri scored a pair of goals in Friday's 4-2 win over Vancouver.

The Devils jumped out to a big lead in this game and Cammalleri's first goal (scored on the power play) gave New Jersey a 3-0 advantage. The 32-year-old also put the Canucks away by burying a shorthanded goal into an empty net. Cammalleri hadn't registered a point in his last four games so it's nice to see him break out of a funk. He has 20 goals and 27 points in 46 games this season. Patrik Elias and Jordin Tootoo also found the back of the net for the Devils.
Feb 20 - 9:33 PM

Mike Cammalleri scored for New Jersey in its 6-2 loss to the Canadiens on Saturday night.

Things looked good for the Devils for about two minutes Saturday night as Cammalleri got the game’s first goal, then reality hit, hard. Cammalleri has goals in three of his past five games, good for 18 on the year, along with 25 points. Jacob Josefson picked up the other goal.
Feb 7 - 10:47 PM

Michael Cammalleri is tied for the NHL lead with seven game-winning goals.

Cammalleri's most recent one came on Tuesday against the Ottawa Senators. "He's got a knack for the net," goaltender Cory Schneider said. "He's got a nose for that moment and he's the kind of guy that I think we needed in here, a guy who feels like he's going to score every time he shoots. He's that way in practice. You can't convince him otherwise and I think that's a great attitude to have. There's been times in the last year or so we haven't gotten the shot we've needed and there it was. I think he really relishes those opportunities and he doesn't miss very often. What a beautiful goal there." Cammalleri has 17 goals and 24 points in 39 contests in 2014-15.
Feb 4 - 5:23 AM

Michael Cammalleri scored his 17th goal of the season as part of a 2-1 win over Ottawa Tuesday night.

Cammalleri's third period marker broke a 1-1 tie and went to hold up as the game-winner, his seventh deciding tally of the year. Veteran superstar Jaromir Jagr drew the only assist on Cammalleri's goal while Adam Henrique also scored for New Jersey in the win.
Feb 3 - 9:40 PM

Michael Cammalleri has spent 10 straight games serving as a center.

That's not an entirely new position for Cammalleri, but he's spent far more time serving as a winger. "When we looked at the lineup coming into the season, that wasn't what I envisioned," Cammalleri said. "But, things change in this business quickly one way or the other. I made a long-term commitment here and they made a long-term commitment to me and part of that, as far as I'm concerned, is doing what it takes for the group, whatever that might be." That being said, his role up the middle is likely a temporary one.
Feb 3 - 8:59 AM

Mike Cammalleri recorded a two-point night in the Devils’ 3-1 win over the Panthers on Saturday.

Cammalleri scored and assisted. Despite the win, the Devils’ offensive attack has truly been comical the past two games, recording 14 shots on goal in back-to-back games. Cammalleri was signed to bring offense, and while he has 16 goals, his 23 points are certainly below expectations. Steve Bernier (goal, assist) and Jaromir Jagr notched the other markers.
Jan 31 - 10:11 PM

Michael Cammalleri has been frustrated this season over his injuries.

Cammalleri has missed 12 games with a plethora of injuries. "It's been a frustrating year. I'm not going to pretend it hasn't been," Cammalleri told NJ Advance Media. "I felt good at the start. Then coming back from a concussion is never easy. Then I actually started feeling pretty good and I had two really tedious injuries after that. For almost a month there I was just chasing it. I was doing my best, everything I could to help, but I didn't have much pop in my game." Cammalleri leads the Devils with 13 goals in 32 games.
Jan 10 - 9:21 AM

Michael Cammalleri had a goal and an assist in a 4-1 victory over Buffalo on Tuesday.

With at least a point in two of Cammalleri's last three contests, he's putting some distance between himself and his recent seven-game point drought. He now has 13 goals and 18 points in 30 games this season.
Jan 7 - 9:07 AM

The Devils experimented with shifting Michael Cammalleri to center during Monday's practice.

That's not a new position for Cammalleri, but he's been serving primarily as a left winger this season. He skated alongside Dainius Zubrus and Michael Ryder as opposed to his usual role on the top line with Scott Gomez and Jaromir Jagr. For his part, Cammalleri said he's willing to play either position.
Jan 6 - 8:06 AM

This gives Cammalleri a team high 12 goals on the season. Michael Ryder also scored for the Devils, his fifth of the season.
Jan 2 - 10:50 PM

Michael Cammalleri will return from a groin injury on Tuesday.

He has missed the last four games because of the ailment. The Devils have just 11 healthy forwards on the roster, so getting Cammalleri back in the lineup is important. He leads the club with 11 goals and he's generated 15 points in 23 matches.
