Jason Pominville amassed three assists in Thursday's 4-3 win over Arizona.

Jan 20 - 9:49 AM

Jason Pominville's third period marker lifted the Wild over the Blackhawks on Sunday evening.

Pominville may have just six goals and 18 points in 42 games, but four of those points have come in the past five games. Still, it seems the 34-year-old has taken a step back from the fantasy force he once was and will be hard pressed to crack 40 points again.
Jan 15 - 10:39 PM

Jason Pominville has gone without a goal for 17 straight games.

He has registered three assists in his last five outings, including each of the last two games. Pominville has scored five times in 39 games this season. He is back on a line with Nino Niederreiter and Erik Haula, where he enjoyed success last year, to try to bust him out of his slump.
Jan 10 - 11:27 AM

Jason Pominville has been moved from Minnesota's first line to its fourth.

Pominville is projected to play alongside Chris Stewart and Tyler Graovac on Thursday. Pominville's struggled this season and that's been particularly true recently as he's stuck in a 14-game goal scoring drought. "I feel I’m definitely snakebit," he said. "That’s the frustrating part. Besides maybe the last two games, previously I was getting a lot of great looks. I could easily be at 10 or so goals without really being on the power play." As it is, he has five goals and 14 points in 36 contests. Jordan Schroeder will step up to the first line in this shakeup.
Jan 4 - 11:14 AM

Jason Pominville had two assists Tuesday night in a 5-1 win over the Florida Panthers.

Pominville has been moved up to the top line with Zach Parise and Eric Staal. He assisted on goals by Parise and Staal in the match to give him three helpers in the last three games.

Jason Pominville scored the first two goals of the night, but it was not enough as the Minnesota Wild dropped a 5-4 contest to the Vancouver Canucks Tuesday.

While Pominville did his part, Darcy Kuemper gave up four unanswered goals in the second and third periods. Pominville climbed to 10 points for the year on 46 shots and should be considered only when he fits the appropriate niche on one’s roster.

Jason Pominville has been skating with Mikko Koivu and Mikael Granlund.

The trio remained intact during Monday's practice. Pominville has recorded two assists in the last three games to give him five points in 11 outings this season.

Jason Pominville scored a goal and an assist in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Los Angeles Kings.

Pominville picked up an assist on Erik Haula's first period goal and he added one of his own with 12 seconds remaining in the frame. Despite tonight's multi-point effort, we don't recommend Pominville in standard fantasy leagues. Charlie Coyle, Mikko Koivu, Teemu Pulkkinen and Jared Spurgeon also found the back of the net for Minnesota.

Jason Pominville might help kill penalties this season.

The Buffalo Sabres used Pominville extensively when shorthanded, but ever since Pominville came to Minnesota, he's seen very little in the way of penalty killing ice time. That has changed during the 2016 training camp though. "I played pretty much my whole time in Buffalo [on the penalty kill], and when I came here [in 2013], it kind of slipped away from me," Pominville said. "Guys had different roles [under Mike Yeo]. If you were on PP, you didn’t really play much on the penalty kill, which was my case. But I’ve always liked to kill." That being said, Wild coach Bruce Boudreau might not use Pominville as much with the man advantage as former coach Yeo did, which would naturally be bad news from a fantasy perspective.

Jason Pominville was moved to the second line during Friday's practice.

Pominville skated with Mikko Koivu and Mikael Granlund. Pominville had a disappointing season in 2015-16, which means he'll be looking to rebound this year. The 33-year-old had 11 goals and 36 points in 75 games last season. He should be able to improve those numbers this year, but don't expect him to carry any fantasy value.

He made it 5-4 with 4:47 left and the Wild came close to tying it, but the puck didn't completely cross the line. The loss eliminated Minnesota from the postseason. Pominville led the team in scoring with four goals and seven points in the series. He finished with a four-game point streak.

Jason Pominville scored a goal in Minnesota's 3-2 loss to Dallas in Game 4.

It was his second straight game factoring on the score sheet and the Wild really need it with stars Zach Parise and Thomas Vanek out of the lineup. Charlie Coyle scored his first of the playoffs in the losing cause. The Wild outshot the Stars but failed to score on four power-play opportunities.
