Jason Pominville has been given an extra assist after a league review.

Pominville was given a helper on a goal by Zemgus Girgensons in Buffalo's 4-2 loss to Los Angeles on Saturday. He also had an assist on Jack Eichel's second tally of the year in that contest. Pominville has four goals and seven points through six outings this campaign.
Oct 17 - 9:47 AM

Jason Pominville scored a pair of goals but it wasn't enough as the Sabres lost to the San Jose Sharks 3-2 on Thursday night.

Pominville's two goals were the only ones scored by the visiting team as the Sabres dropped their fourth straight game to open the season. This was Pominville's second multi-goal game of the season, and the 26th of his career. He now has four goals and five points in four games playing alongside Jack Eichel.

Jason Pominville scored a pair of goals in Thursday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Montreal Canadiens.

Pominville's power play goal in the first period gave Buffalo a 1-0 lead, while his goal in the second frame gave them a 2-1 lead at the time. The 34-year-old had some solid years with the Sabres in the past, but not much offense was expected from him this season. It's a nice opening game for the veteran and it will be interesting to see if he can keep this up throughout the season. Playing alongside Jack Eichel could give him plenty of opportunities to succeed.
Oct 5 - 10:28 PM

Jason Pominville scored a pair of goals in Tuesday's 4-3 OT win over the Penguins on Tuesday night.

Pominville, who began his career with the Sabres, was acquired by Buffalo in an off-season trade with the Minnesota Wild. The 34-year-old had 13 goals and 47 points in 78 games with the Wild last season. He'll be a good veteran presence on a young team and could have some decent fantasy value if he plays regularly alongside Eichel, who set up both of his goals. Eichel also scored the game-winning goal in overtime.
Sep 19 - 10:17 PM

Jason Pominville started training camp skating alongside Jack Eichel and Evander Kane.

Although it's early in camp and one shouldn't read too much into line combinations, this is an interesting unit. Needless to say, if Pominville can land a gig in the top six, his fantasy value will be significantly higher than what it would be if he lined up on the Sabres' third line, a spot we felt was earmarked for him. Stay tuned.
Sep 17 - 8:54 AM

The Buffalo Sabres have acquired Jason Pominville, Marco Scandella, and a 2018 fourth-round pick from the Minnesota Wild in exchange for Tyler Ennis, Marcus Foligno, and a 2018 third-round selection.

Pominville is coming back to the team that drafted him in 2001. He had some superb seasons in Buffalo with his highlights being his 80-point campaign in 2007-08 and his 30-goal, 73-point showing in 2011-12. Unfortunately the 34-year-old (he'll turn 35 in November) has declined in recent years and is coming off a season where he was limited to 13 goals and 47 points in 78 contests. We'll see if a return to where his career started can rejuvenate him in the twilight of his playing days.

It's unclear if Jason Pominville has been asked to waive his no-move clause to be exposed in the expansion draft.

Wild GM Chuck Fletcher has declined to comment on the situation, while Pominville and his agent haven't responded to questions. Pominville still has two seasons left on his five-year, $28 million contract.
Jun 12 - 4:35 PM

Jason Pominville now has points in three of his last four games.

He picked up an assist during Sunday's 5-2 win over the Avalanche, giving him two goals and four points over his last five games. For the season, Pominville has 13 goals and 46 points in 75 games.
Apr 2 - 9:24 PM

Jason Pominville notched a goal and added an assist in Tuesday's 5-4 overtime loss to Washington.

Mar 29 - 11:54 AM

Jason Pominville will return to action on Tuesday against the Sharks after missing Sunday's match with the Jets as a healthy scratch.

Mar 20 - 2:08 PM

Jason Pominville will be scratched from Sunday's match with the Jets.

Mar 19 - 4:40 PM

Jason Pominville reached and surpassed the 40-point mark on Friday.

Pominville has 11 goals and 41 points in 63 contests this season. That's up from 36 points in 2015-16. Of course there's been points in his campaign where he's been a top-tier offensive threat, but at the age of 34 that stage of his career might be over. If he reaches the 50-point mark then this could be seen as a reasonably productive season for him.
Mar 11 - 10:25 AM

Jason Pominville will skate on Minnesota's fourth line against the Sharks on Sunday.

He'll skate to the right of Ryan White and Erik Haula, which makes for a fairly dynamic fourth line. Pominville has posted 10 goals and 38 points with a 7.7% shooting clip in 59 games this season.
