Ray Emery is slated to become a UFA on July 1 but the Flyers could still be interested in his services.
GM Ron Hextall will peruse the free agent market to see if there is a better netminder for the team but Emery will be a fall back position for Philadelphia if nothing is deemed to be better. Emery was 10-11-7 last season with a 3.06 GAA and a .894 save percentage after a 9-12-2 season in 2013-14 with a 2.96 GAA and a .903 save percentage. Jun 20 - 7:59 AM

Ray Emery allowed two goals on 26 shots in the Flyers' 3-1 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday night.

Emery falls to 10-11-7 on the season with a 3.06 goals against average and .894 save percentage. It was not a pretty end to the year, as Emery lost five straight (four in overtime) down the stretch.
Apr 9 - 11:48 PM

Ray Emery will get the start in Thursday's game against Carolina.

The 32-year-old has a 10-10-7 record with a 3.10 goals-against-average and a 893 save percentage in 30 games this season. It's safe to say he is no longer a starting caliber goaltender in the NHL. Emery has dropped his last four starts in overtime or a shootout.
Apr 9 - 5:35 PM

The Philadelphia Flyers fell 3-2 via a shootout to the Carolina Hurricanes, continuing a frustrating run for Ray Emery.

Emery has now dropped four straight decisions beyond regulation despite allowing two goals or less in three of those games (with one five-goal struggle against Edmonton). He's also lost five in a row and seven of eight overall.
Apr 4 - 3:56 PM

Ray Emery is a perfect 5-0 against the Carolina Hurricanes in his career.

Emery will get the start on Saturday against the Hurricanes. Emery has a microscopic GAA of 0.74 with a sensational .977 save percentage. It certainly is a lot better than his 2014-15 seasonal marks of a 3.08 GAA and a .894 save percentage.
Apr 4 - 9:02 AM

Ray Emery will be the Philadelphia Flyers' starting goaltender on Saturday.

Emery will try to rebound after allowing five goals on 34 shots against Edmonton on March 21. This might be his last chance to end the season on a positive note.
Apr 3 - 12:59 PM

Ray Emery yielded five goals on 34 shots in the Flyers’ 5-4 overtime loss to the Oilers on Saturday night.

Called upon at the last minute with Steve Mason ill at the start, Emery allowed a goal 51 seconds into the game, and three in the first period. He offers very little upside, even considering his role as a backup. Emery has a 3.08 goals-against average and .894 save percentage.
Mar 22 - 12:51 AM

Ray Emery got the surprise start for the Flyers against the Oilers.

Steve Mason was nowhere to be found — literally — at the start of Saturday’s game. Mason was due to start, but the team has said nothing as to why he wasn’t even on the bench. Emery has a 3.08 goals-against average and .894 save percentage this season.
Mar 21 - 10:40 PM

Ray Emery made 27 saves plus two more in the shootout in the Flyers' tough 2-1 shootout loss to the Senators on Sunday night.

Emery turned in his third quality start against his former Senators club. He was beaten only by a batted-puck on a rebound, and a silky Bobby Ryan shootout goal. Emery has now stopped 73 of 76 shots the Senators have sent his way. For the season, Emery falls to 10-10-5 with a .896 save percentage and a 3.04 GAA.
Mar 15 - 10:20 PM

Ray Emery will start make his third career start against the team that drafted him, the Ottawa Senators on Sunday night.

Emery has turned away 47 of 49 shots the Senators have sent his way in two wins over his former club. A stark contrast to his current record of 10-10-4 with a .893 save percentage and a 3.15 GAA through 21 starts and 25 games this season. Emery also owns just 10 Quality Starts against six Really Bad Starts this season.
Mar 15 - 5:22 PM

Ray Emery is likely to get a start in the near future, according to Flyers coach Craig Berube.

Emery had been dealing with a lower-body injury, but he was activated off of the injured reserve list over a week ago. He hasn't gotten any ice time since Feb. 19 though. Philadelphia will play against Detroit on Saturday and Ottawa on Sunday, so it wouldn't be surprising to see Emery play in one of those two.
Mar 12 - 11:22 AM

Ray Emery (lower body) has been activated from the injured reserve list.

That's based on what the roster on the Flyers' website is showing at least. It would make sense given that Philadelphia has already sent Anthony Stolarz to the minors, leaving the Flyers with two goatlenders including Emery.
Mar 2 - 11:28 AM

Ray Emery (lower body) was on the ice Friday.

"It's good to get on the ice," Emery said. "I felt pretty good on the ice. Hopefully, it's consistent progress from here on." Although Emery doesn't have a firm timetable, he won't be back until Tuesday at the earliest. When he's back, he'll serve as Steve Mason's understudy.
Feb 27 - 1:52 PM

Ray Emery (lower body) has been placed on injured reserve.

He was moved to Philadelphia's IR list, so the team could activate Steve Mason. Emery wasn't able to play Tuesday because of a lower-body injury. He has a 10-10-4 record with an .893 save percentage and a 3.15 GAA in 26 games this season.
Feb 26 - 2:27 PM

Ray Emery is dealing with a lower-body injury.

Emery didn't travel with the Flyers to Carolina for Tuesday's game. Steve Mason (knee) will return and serve as Rob Zepp's backup for that contest.
