As expected, Ray Emery will start Thursday's match versus Minnesota.

Steve Mason was in the Flyers' crease for Wednesday's 2-0 loss to the Rangers. Emery hasn't started since Nov. 15 when he allowed six goals in a 6-3 loss to Montreal.
Nov 20 - 5:10 PM

Ray Emery was roughed up for six goals on 28 shots in the Flyers’ 6-3 loss to the Canadiens on Saturday night.

Making his first start since Oct. 30, Emery looked rusty. He doesn’t play on a team that will give him much help in the defense department, but this was the type of night that their netminder wasn’t too overwhelmed. Emery gave up three on even strength and three on eight power-play shots. He’s lost his past two starts, giving up 10 goals. Emery has a 3.25 goals-against average and .898 save percentage this season.
Nov 15 - 10:32 PM

Flyers' head coach Craig Berube confirmed that Ray Emery will get the start against the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday night.

Emery hasn't started a game since October 30th. He has a 4-1-1 record with a 2.74 goals-against-average and a .915 save percentage.
Nov 15 - 5:35 PM

Ray Emery will probably play between the pipes on Saturday.

Steve Mason is starting in Friday's contest. Emery has a 2.74 GAA and .915 save percentage in six games in 2014-15.
Nov 14 - 1:30 PM

Ray Emery made 28 saves on 32 shots in Philadelphia's 4-3 loss to Tampa Bay on Thursday night.

Emery had won his previous four games, but the fun had to end sooner or later. Emery is now 4-1-1 with a .915 save percentage and 2.74 goals against average. The veteran is now vulnerable to losing playing time to the Flyers' starter Steve Mason.
Oct 30 - 11:23 PM

Ray Emery will tend to Philadelphia's goal again on Thursday against Tampa Bay.

It will mark his fourth consecutive start for the Flyers and he'll be seeking his fifth straight win. Emery owns a 4-0-1 record with a .924 save percentage and a 2.44 goals-against average this season.
Oct 30 - 5:04 PM

Ray Emery was exceptional in goal for the Flyers on Tuesday as he turned aside 38 of 40 shots in a 3-2 overtime victory against the Kings.

Emery's emergence shouldn't be a massive surprise since Steve Mason's 2013-14 campaign looked like an anomaly as compared to his recent history. Given the injuries the Flyers have suffered on the blue line, there's a good chance he'll have every opportunity to maintain he starting role for as long as he is playing this well. With four straight victories, his record now stands at 4-0-1 while his GAA is 2.44 and his save percentage is .924.
Oct 28 - 10:06 PM

Ray Emery will get the nod against the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday.

Emery has a 1.70 GAA and .947 save percentage in his six career contests against Los Angeles. He has a 2.60 GAA and .914 save percentage in four games this season.
Oct 28 - 11:16 AM

Ray Emery made 35 saves in the Flyers’ 4-2 win over the Red Wings on Saturday night.

Emery has now made the last two starts for Philadelphia, both of which are wins, and he has three straight wins on the season. This was his best outing of the year, single-handedly keeping the Flyers in it. It would not be surprising to see the Flyers turn to him again Tuesday at the Kings. He has a 2.60 goals-against average and .914 save percentage this season.
Oct 25 - 9:56 PM

Ray Emery will get the start in goal Saturday according to the Philadelphia Flyers twitter site.

Emery is 2-0-1 this season but his peripheral numbers are a bit weak as he has a 2.84 GAA and a .897 save percentage. Nevertheless, those numbers are better than Steve Mason so Emery could challenge the Flyers number one goalie in the upcoming games.
Oct 25 - 11:32 AM

Don't be surprised if Ray Emery starts on Saturday.

Steve Mason has struggled mightily this season and while he hasn't lost the starting job yet, the Flyers might lean on Emery a bit more in the short-term. Emery has a 2.84 GAA and .897 save percentage in three games.
Oct 24 - 11:24 AM

Philadelphia goalie Ray Emery pulled out a win against the Penguins in Pittsburgh Wednesday night, saving 22 of 25 shots to help the Flyers prevail 5-3.

Emery improved to 2-0-1 on the season. His goals-against average is now 2.81 and his save percentage, .897. His performance against the Pens was formidable and there is speculation that he may supplant Steve Mason soon as the Flyers' No. 1 goalie.
Oct 22 - 11:02 PM

The Philadelphia Flyers will go with Ray Emery against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday.

That's not particularly surprising given that Steve Mason played on Tuesday. Emery has a 2.73 GAA and .907 save percentage in two games this season. Given Mason's rough start to the campaign, there might be an opportunity for Emery to take the starting job if he gets hot.
Oct 22 - 5:57 PM

Ray Emery blocked 35 shots in the Flyers’ 4-3 shootout loss to the Canadiens on Saturday night.

A disappointing result for the back-up goalie. Emery got no help from his team in the third period as the Canadiens outshot the Flyers 19-4 and scored three times to tie the game. Emery and Steve Mason are two below-average goalies on a team with a shaky defense. That’s not a recipe for success.
