Tim Jackman, Cory Sarich and Anton Babchuk were healthy scratches for the Calgary Flames Sunday.

It may start happening more often for Jackman with the acquisition of Brian McGrattan as the two fill similar roles as fourth line enforcers. Jackman has one goal and 12 penalty minutes in 16 games this season, to go with a minus-three rating. He is not worth owning at this time, even if penalty minutes are a category in your pool.

Tim Jackman's goal on Sunday broke a 54 game scoreless drought.

Jackman is not known for his goal scoring and thank goodness for that as he had last scored on December 29, 2011 before the goal on Sunday in a 5-4 win over Phoenix that got the Flames back to the .500 mark at 7-7-3. He has one goal in 15 games with a minus-three rating and 12 penalty minutes. He is not worth owning.

Tim Jackman needed 18 stitches after fighting Chicago's Brandon Bollig on Saturday.

It was the Calgary Flames' first fight of the season. "I was doing it to get the guys excited, to get the energy up and the momentum on our side," Jackman said. "Obviously, we hadn’t had a fight yet. I don’t know if that was in the back of anybody’s mind, but it was in the back of my mind a little bit." Jackman should be good for about a penalty minute per game, but he won't do much offensively.
Feb 5 - 8:43 AM

Tim Jackman got four penalty minutes in a 3-0 loss Wednesday.

Jackman has seven points and 92 penalty minutes in 71 games. Jay Bouwmeester had six blocked shots.

Tim Jackman, who recently recovered from an upper-body injury, was a healthy scratch Saturday afternoon against Dallas.

The Flames needed his spot for Mike Cammalleri, who returned to action after missing nine games due to a concussion. If you are looking for penalty minutes, there are more reliable sources than Jackman at the moment.

Tim Jackman, who signed a two-year extension on Monday, is looking forward to being able to stay in one place for a while.

The Calgary Flames are the fifth team Jackman has played for in his eight season NHL career. "To finally find kind of a home, it feels really good," Jackman said. There were other teams interested in acquiring Jackman, but the Flames ultimately decided that they were better off re-signing him.

Tim Jackman has inked a two-year, $1,225,000 contract extension.

Jackman would have been an unrestricted free agent this summer. He has seven points and 77 penalty minutes in 62 games this season.

Tim Jackman ranks fourth in the NHL in terms of total fights.

Jackman has gotten in 11 fights, but only has 61 penalty minutes. That's great news for the Flames because it means that he's not taking making minor penalties that they have to kill off, but it does limit his fantasy appeal. Jackman also has seven points and 118 hits in 50 games.

Tim Jackman scored Calgary's only goal in Thursday's loss to the New York Islanders.

The tally was his first of the season after he produced a career-high of 10 last year. Tom Kostopoulos and Brendan Morrison drew assists on the goal.

The unlikely duo of Tim Jackman and Tom Kostopoulos have been pacing the Flames as of late.

Against the Blues Friday night Kostopoulos scored while Jackman registered two assists. Not too shabby for fourth liners who don't play much more than 5-6 minutes per night. Although neither is really fantasy worthy, Jackman has a little more value as he often engages in fisticuffs.

Tim Jackman is starting to get his energy game back.

The fourth liner has struggled at times along with linemates Matt Stajan and Tom Kostopoulos but the energy was back on Thursday. The line had 25 hits against the Rangers and were buzzing around the net despite the fact that Jackman only played 5:36 minutes. "Yeah, I got five minutes or whatever (Thursday), but me, TK and Staj just try to get pucks in deep, be solid, throw everything to the net and I thought we created some momentum," said Jackman. "We had a few good shifts and hopefully we can keep it going." Jackman picked up a fighting major in the game and should get 75-80 minutes this season with 15-20 points.

Tim Jackman (groin) was back at practice on Wednesday.

Jackman is likely to play in the Flames final preseason game on Thursday and practiced on Wednesday with Tom Kostopoulos and Matt Stajan on the fourth unit. Jackman is worth selecting late if penalty minutes are a category in your pool as he had 86 minutes last season in addition to 23 points.
