The St. Louis Blues have released Eric Nystrom fro his PTO.

The 33-year-old may be coming to the end of the line, unfortunately. Nystrom, a former 10th overall pick in 2002 by Calgary, hasn't put up double-digit points in two seasons. He's also posted double-digit goals just three times in his career as well. Suffice it to say, even if he does catch on with another team, his fantasy value is low.

Eric Nystrom will attend St. Louis' camp on a tryout basis.

He had seven goals and no assists in 46 games with the Nashville Predators last season. Nystrom was bought out by the Preds during the off-season.

Jun 13 - 12:02 PM

The Predators will need to handle the Eric Nystrom situation soon.

Nashville wants to part ways with him and while that might involve a buyout, a trade is still a possibility. "It has to happen pretty soon," Predators GM David Poile said. "The buyout period starts 48 hours after the Stanley Cup playoffs, and I want to be in position to know whether we can trade him or whether we'd keep him or whether we'd buy him out." The Stanley Cup Final would end on Thursday if Pittsburgh wins Game 5.
Jun 8 - 6:43 PM

Nashville will try to part ways with Eric Nystrom this off-season.

That could come in the form of a trade, but a buyout is probably the more likely scenario. He has one more season left on his contract. Nystrom had seven goals and no assists in 46 games with Nashville during the 2015-16 season.
May 18 - 11:58 AM

Eric Nystrom has a chance of being bought out by the Predators.

He has one year remaining on his contract and he is owned $3 million. Nystrom's $2.5 million cap hit would save Nashville $2 million, according to generalfanager.com, and it would allow the team to fill his roster spot with younger talent within the organization.
