Eric Nystrom (leg) is a game-time decision for tonight’s game versus San Jose.

Nystrom has missed three games with a lacerated leg suffered early in a March 26 game at Calgary. The veteran forward has a career-high 16 goals this season, but he has gone his last 14 matches without finding the net.

Eric Nystrom has been out for three games due to a leg laceration.

The good news is Nystrom is probable for Tuesday's contest. "Nystrom skated today full skate, so it looks like he should be ready," Stars coach Glen Gulutzan said. He has 16 goals and 21 points in 71 games this season.

Eric Nystrom will not be disciplined by the NHL for his hit to the head of Pittsburgh defenseman Kris Letang in Wednesday night's contest.

"They just said they had looked at it and there were no grounds for a suspension," GM Joe Nieuwendyk said. "It was just a hockey play, that's how I saw it." Nystrom received a two-minute penalty for roughing on the play, while Letang left the game and did not return. The Stars start a three-game road trip in Edmonton on Friday night and Nystrom will be with the team. He has collected 19 points and 137 hits in 59 games this campaign.

With the injury to Brenden Morrow, Eric Nystrom got a chance to play alongside of Mike Ribeiro and Loui Eriksson Saturday night.

Nystrom, who has been surprisingly productive this season with 15 goals in 45 games, could score a few more goals over the next two games if he continues to flank Ribeiro. He may make a nice short-term replacement for Morrow.

Eric Nystrom will play on a line with Mike Ribeiro and Michael Ryder on Saturday.

The Stars decided to move Nystrom up to the second line after Brenden Morrow went back on the injured reserve list. Morrow will miss at least three games. "It's a good opportunity to play with a guy like that (Ribeiro)," Nystrom said. "He really loves to dish. I've just got to make sure my game stays the same-staying around the net, getting in on the forecheck, playing physical and creating space for Ribbie to do his thing." Although Nystrom is primarily known for his defensive abilities, he does have 15 goals this season, so he is worth keeping an eye on Saturday.

Eric Nystrom notched his 14th goal of the season in the Dallas Stars' 5-2 loss to the Minnesota Wild on Saturday night.

Quite the way to get back at a team that waived you in the preseason, but he'd certainly prefer the win. The winger has already potted three more goals than he's had in any NHL season and most of that has been due to a very high 18.3 shooting percentage. The funny thing is, his 14 goals would rank tied for first on the Wild. Philip Larsen found the back of the net for the first time at the NHL level on Saturday. He has three points in 20 games this season. Stephane Robidas, Loui Eriksson, Alex Goligoski and Vernon Fiddler had the helpers in the loss.

Eric Nystrom will have plenty of motivation Saturday night.

It will be the first time he will play against his former club, the Wild, after being waived in the pre-season. Of not being given a chance before being let go Nystrom has this to say, "I know this is a business. They make moves on what they think will help their team. And they didn't see me as a part of the picture there. I thought I'd thrive under the new coach with a fresh, clean slate. I think I felt a little betrayed. I didn't see it coming, being waived that early on, not given a chance to bounce back. I wasn't happy about that. I'm excited to come back and play in that building. The fans are awesome." That sounds like a motivated player to us.

Eric Nystrom has scored a remarkable 10 goals in Dallas' last 16 games.

Yes, you read that right. Nystrom, who is the son of former Islander star Bobby Nystrom, has never shown much of a scoring touch in four NHL seasons, registering a career-high of 11 goals in Calgary in 2009-10. If you are looking for a very short term boost, you could add Nystrom while he is hot. However, be prepared to drop him as soon as he looks to be turning back into a pumpkin.

Eric Nystrom lit the lamp twice in Stars 4-3 shootout loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Nystrom has a career high of 11 goals, so this was a pleasant surprise, nothing more. He isn't fantasy worthy in any format.

Eric Nystrom scored the lone goal for Dallas as they fell 3-1 to the Penguins.

In a battle of two highly ranked teams, Dallas fell just short. The Stars got their lone goal from Eric Nystrom, his fifth of the season. It was assisted by Radek Dvorak and Vernon Fiddler. The Stars incredible beginning to the season but could not beat Marc-Andre Fleury on this night.

Eric Nystrom, who was acquired in a trade from Minnesota last week, did not play Saturday night against Columbus.

He was ticketed to start on Dallas' fourth line but apparently needs another practice or two before making his Stars' debut. Nystrom has no fantasy value.

Eric Nystrom is projected to play on the fourth line in Saturday's contest.

There's still a chance that Nystrom, who was acquired by the Stars on Wednesday, will be a healthy scratch Saturday, but the odds are in his favor. "I think there's a pretty good chance," Stars coach Glen Gulutzan said, regarding the possibility of Nystrom playing on Saturday. "I know he's champing at the bit and we just want to make sure that he's up to speed so we can put him in a position to succeed when he gets out there. I think there's a good chance."
